< Job 2 >
1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
Ɛda foforɔ bi, abɔfoɔ no baa Awurade anim bio na Satan nso kaa wɔn ho baeɛ.
2 And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence come you? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
Awurade bisaa Satan sɛ, “Wofiri he na wobaa ha?” Satan buaa Awurade sɛ, “Mefiri asase so akyinkyinakyinkyini ne emu akɔneabadie mu.”
3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears God, and turns away from evil? and still he holds fast his integrity, although you moved me against him, to destroy him without cause.
Na Awurade bisaa Satan sɛ, “Woadwene mʼakoa Hiob ho anaa? Obiara nte sɛ ɔno wɔ asase so, ne ho nni asɛm na ɔtene. Ɔyɛ onipa a ɔsuro Onyankopɔn na ɔkyiri bɔne. Ɛwom sɛ wohyɛɛ me sɛ mensɛe no a menni nnyinasoɔ biara deɛ, nanso ɔda so gyina ne pɛpɛyɛ no mu.”
4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man has will he give for his life.
Satan buaa Awurade sɛ, “Wedeɛ pere wedeɛ. Onipa de deɛ ɔwɔ nyinaa bɛma de apere ne nkwa.
5 But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face.
Sɛ ɛbɛtumi a tene wo nsa fa ka ne honam ne ne nnompe, na ɔbɛdome wo wɔ wʼanim!”
6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in your hand; but save his life.
Awurade ka kyerɛɛ Satan sɛ, “Ɛyɛ, ɔwɔ wo nsam na ne nkwa deɛ, gyaa mu ma no.”
7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and stroke Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
Enti, Satan firii Awurade anim, na ɔmaa akuro a ɛyɛ yea totɔɔ Hiob ho firi ne nan ase kɔsii nʼapampam.
8 And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself likewise; and he sat down among the ashes.
Afei, na kyɛmferɛ na Hiob de dwi ne ho, ɛberɛ a ɔte nsõ mu.
9 Then said his wife unto him, Do you still retain your integrity? curse God, and die.
Ne yere bisaa no sɛ, “Woda so kura wo pɛpɛyɛ no mu ara? Dome Onyankopɔn, na wu!”
10 But he said unto her, You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
Na Hiob buaa no sɛ, “Wokasa sɛ ɔbaa a ɔyɛ ɔkwasea. Ade pa deɛ, yɛagye afiri Onyankopɔn nsam na ade bɔne na yɛmpo anaa?” Yei nyinaa mu, Hiob anka asɛm bɔne.
11 Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
Ɛberɛ a Hiob nnamfo baasa bi a wɔne Temanni Elifas, Suhini Bildad ne Naamani Sofar tee amanehunu a aba Hiob so no, wɔfirii wɔn afie mu, hyia yɛɛ adwene sɛ wɔbɛkɔ akɔhwɛ no na wɔakyekye ne werɛ.
12 And when they lifted up their eyes far off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.
Wɔhunuu Hiob firii akyiri no, wɔanhunu sɛ ɛyɛ ɔno; wɔhyɛɛ aseɛ twaa agyaadwoɔ, sunsuanee wɔn ntadeɛ mu, tuu mfuturo guu wɔn tiri so.
13 So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spoke a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.
Na wɔne no tenaa fam nnanson, awia ne anadwo. Na obiara ankasa, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔhunuu sɛ nʼamanehunu no nyɛ asɛmwa.
