Isaiah 58
1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
“¡Grita en voz alta! ¡No escatimes! ¡Levanta tu voz como una trompeta! Declara a mi pueblo su desobediencia, y a la casa de Jacob sus pecados.
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
Sin embargo, cada día me buscan, y se deleitan en conocer mis caminos. Como una nación que hizo justicia, y no abandonaron la ordenanza de su Dios, me piden juicios justos. Se deleitan en acercarse a Dios.
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and you see not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast all of you find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
“¿Por qué hemos ayunado — dicen — y no lo veis? ¿Por qué hemos afligido nuestra alma y no te das cuenta? “He aquí que en el día de tu ayuno encuentras placer, y oprimir a todos sus trabajadores.
4 Behold, all of you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: all of you shall not fast as all of you do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
He aquí que ayunáis para la contienda y el pleito, y golpear con el puño de la maldad. Hoy no ayunas para que tu voz sea escuchada en lo alto.
5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
¿Es este el ayuno que he elegido? ¿Un día para que un hombre humille su alma? ¿Es para agachar la cabeza como una caña, y que extienda saco y ceniza debajo de sí mismo? ¿Llamará a esto un ayuno? y un día aceptable para Yahvé?
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that all of you break every yoke?
“¿No es éste el ayuno que he elegido: para liberar las ataduras de la maldad, para desatar las correas del yugo, para dejar libres a los oprimidos, y que rompas todo yugo?
7 Is it not to deal your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor that are cast out to your house? when you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you hide not yourself from your own flesh?
¿No es para repartir su pan a los hambrientos, y que traigas a tu casa a los pobres expulsados? Cuando veas el desnudo, que lo cubra; y que no te escondas de tu propia carne?
8 Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your health shall spring forth speedily: and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
Entonces tu luz brotará como la mañana, y su curación aparecerá rápidamente; entonces tu justicia irá delante de ti, y la gloria de Yahvé será su retaguardia.
9 Then shall you call, and the LORD shall answer; you shall cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting out of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Entonces llamarás, y el Señor responderá. Pedirás ayuda y él dirá: “Aquí estoy”. “Si quitáis de entre vosotros el yugo, señalando con el dedo, y hablando con maldad;
10 And if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in obscurity, and your darkness be as the noon day:
y si derramas tu alma al hambriento, y satisfacer el alma afligida, entonces tu luz se alzará en la oscuridad, y tu oscuridad será como el mediodía;
11 And the LORD shall guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat your bones: and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
y Yahvé te guiará continuamente, saciar tu alma en lugares secos, y hacer que tus huesos sean fuertes. Serás como un jardín regado, y como un manantial de agua cuyas aguas no fallan.
12 And they that shall be of you shall build the old waste places: you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Los que serán de vosotros construirán los antiguos lugares de desecho. Levantarás los cimientos de muchas generaciones. Se le llamará Reparador de la Brecha, Restaurador de caminos con viviendas.
13 If you turn away your foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shall honour him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words:
“Si apartas tu pie del sábado, de hacer tu placer en mi día sagrado, y llamar al sábado una delicia, y lo sagrado de Yahvé honorable, y honrarlo, no haciendo sus propios caminos, ni encontrar su propio placer, ni hablar de sus propias palabras,
14 Then shall you delight yourself in the LORD; and I will cause you to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.
entonces te deleitarás en Yahvé, y te haré cabalgar sobre las alturas de la tierra, y te alimentaré con la herencia de Jacob, tu padre”. porque la boca de Yahvé lo ha dicho.
