Isaiah 40
1 Comfort all of you, comfort all of you my people, says your God.
१तुमचा देव म्हणतो, सांत्वन करा, माझ्या लोकांचे सांत्वन करा.
2 Speak all of you comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she has received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.
२यरूशलेमेशी प्रेमळपणाने बोला; आणि तिला घोषणा करून सांगा की तुझे युद्ध संपले आहे, तिच्या अन्यायाची क्षमा झाली आहे, तिने आपल्या सर्व पापांसाठी परमेश्वराच्या हातून दुप्पट स्विकारले आहे.
3 The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
३घोषणा करणाऱ्याची वाणी म्हणते, अरण्यात परमेश्वराचा मार्ग तयार करा; आमच्या देवासाठी रानात सरळ राजमार्ग करा.
4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
४प्रत्येक दरी उंच होईल, आणि प्रत्येक डोंगर आणि टेकडी सपाट होईल; आणि खडबडीत जमीन सपाट होईल आणि उंचसखल जागा मैदान होईल.
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.
५आणि परमेश्वराचे गौरव प्रगट होईल आणि सर्व लोक ते एकत्रित पाहतील; कारण परमेश्वराच्या मुखातील हे शब्द आहेत.
6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
६एक वाणी म्हणाली, “घोषणा कर” दुसरे उत्तर आले, “मी काय घोषणा करू?” सर्व देह गवत आहे आणि त्यांचा सर्व विश्वासूपणाचा करार वनातील फुलासारखा आहे.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades: because the spirit of the LORD blows upon it: surely the people is grass.
७गवत सुकते व फुल कोमजते, जेव्हा परमेश्वराच्या श्वासाचा फुंकर त्यावर पडतो; खात्रीने मानवजात गवत आहे.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
८“गवत सुकते आणि फुल कोमेजते पण आमच्या देवाचे वचन सदासर्वकाळ उभे राहते.”
9 O Zion, that bring good tidings, get you up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bring good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
९सियोनेस, सुवार्ता घेऊन येणारे जाणारे, उंच डोंगरावर चढ; यरूशलेमेस सुवार्ता सांगणाऱ्ये, आपला आवाज जोराने उंच कर. मोठ्याने आरोळी मार; घाबरू नकोस. यहूदातील नगरांना सांग, येथे तुझा देव आहे!
10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
१०पाहा, प्रभू परमेश्वर, विजयी वीरासारखा येत आहे आणि त्याचे बलवान बाहू त्यासाठी सत्ता चालवील. पाहा, त्याचे बक्षीस त्याच्याबरोबर आहे आणि त्याचा मोबदला त्याच्यापुढेच आहे.
11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
११मेंढपाळाप्रमाणे आपल्या कळपास तो चारील, तो कोकरास आपल्या बाहूत एकवटून त्यांना आपल्या उराशी धरून वाहील आणि तान्ह्या पिल्लांना पाजणाऱ्या मेंढ्याना तो जपून नेईल.
12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
१२आपल्या ओंजळीने समुद्राचे पाणी कोणी मोजले आहे, आकाशाचे माप आपल्या वतीने, पृथ्वीवरची धूळ पाटीत धरली, डोंगराचे वजन तागडीत किंवा टेकड्या तराजूत तोलल्या आहेत?
13 Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor has taught him?
१३परमेश्वराचे मन कोणाला समजले आहे किंवा त्याचा सल्लागार म्हणून कोणी सूचना दिल्या आहेत?
14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?
१४त्याने कोणापासून कधी सूचना स्विकारली? कोणी त्यास योग्य गोष्टी करण्याचा मार्ग शिकवला, आणि त्यास कोणी ज्ञान शिकवले किंवा सुज्ञतेचा मार्ग दाखवला?
15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he takes up the isles as a very little thing.
१५पाहा, राष्ट्रे बादलीतल्या एका थेंबासमान आहेत आणि तराजूतल्या धुळीच्या कणासारखी मोजली आहे; पाहा तो बेटही धुळीच्या कणासारखे उचलतो.
16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
१६लबानोन जळणास पुरेसा नाही, किंवा त्यातले वनपशू होमार्पणासाठी पुरेसे नाहीत.
17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
१७त्याच्यापुढे सर्व राष्ट्रे अपुरे आहेत; त्याच्या दृष्टीने ती काही नसल्यासारखीच आहेत.
18 To whom then will all of you liken God? or what likeness will all of you compare unto him?
१८तर मग तुम्ही देवाची तुलना कशाशी कराल? तर त्याची तुलना कोणत्या प्रतिमेशी करणार?
19 The workman melts a graven image, and the goldsmith spreads it over with gold, and casts silver chains.
१९मूर्ती! कारागीराने ओतून केली आहेः सोनार तिला सोन्याने मढवतो आणि तिच्यासाठी चांदीच्या साखळ्या ओततो.
20 He that is so impoverished that he has no oblation chooses a tree that will not rot; he seeks unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
२०जो अर्पण देण्यास असमर्थ असा गरीब तो न कुजणारे लाकूड निवडतो; न पडणारी मूर्ती बनविण्यासाठी तो निपूण कारागीर शोधतो.
21 Have all of you not known? have all of you not heard? has it not been told you from the beginning? have all of you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
२१तुम्हास माहीत नाही काय? तुम्ही ऐकले नाही काय? तुम्हास सुरवातीपासून सांगितले नाही काय? पृथ्वीचा पाया घातल्यापासून हे तुम्हास समजले नाही काय?
22 It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in:
२२जो पृथ्वीच्या वरील नभोमंडळावर बसतो तो हाच आहे आणि त्याच्यापुढे रहिवासी टोळासारखे आहेत. तो आकाश पडद्याप्रमाणे ताणतो आणि त्यामध्ये राहण्यासाठी तंबूप्रमाणे पसरतो.
23 That brings the princes to nothing; he makes the judges of the earth as vanity.
२३तो अधिपतींना काहीही नसल्यासारखे कमी करतो आणि पृथ्वीच्या अधिपतींना अर्थशून्य करतो.
24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
२४पाहा, ते केवळ लावले आहेत; पाहा, ते केवळ पेरले आहेत; पाहा त्यांनी केवळ भूमीत मूळ धरले आहे, तो त्यांच्यापुढे त्यावर फुंकर घालतो आणि ते सुकून जातात व वादळ त्यांना धसकटासारखे उडवून नेते.
25 To whom then will all of you liken me, or shall I be equal? says the Holy One.
२५“तर तुम्ही माझी तुलना कोणाशी कराल? माझ्यासारखा कोण आहे? असे तो पवित्र प्रभू म्हणतो.
26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one fails.
२६आकाशाकडे वर पाहा! हे सर्व तारे कोणी निर्माण केले आहेत? तो त्याच्या निर्मीतीचे मार्गदर्शन करून बाहेर नेतो आणि त्या सर्वांना नावाने बोलावतो. त्याच्या सामर्थ्याच्या महानतेमुळे आणि प्रबळ सत्ताधीश आहे म्हणून, त्यातला एकही उणा नाही.
27 Why say you, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
२७हे याकोबा, तू असे का म्हणतोस, आणि इस्राएलास जाहीर करतोस, माझे मार्ग परमेश्वरापासून गुप्त आहेत आणि माझा देव माझ्या समर्थनाविषयी लक्ष देत नाही?
28 Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
२८तुला माहीत नाही काय? तू ऐकले नाही काय? परमेश्वर हा सनातन देव, पृथ्वीच्या सीमा निर्माण करणारा, थकत किंवा दमत नाही; त्याच्या बुद्धीला मर्यादा नाही.
29 He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength.
२९तो थकलेल्यांना शक्ती देतो; आणि निर्बलांस नवचैतन्य देऊन ताकद देतो.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
३०तरुण लोकही थकतात आणि दमतात, आणि तरुण माणसे अडखळतात आणि पडतात.
31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
३१पण जे कोणी परमेश्वराची प्रतीक्षा करतात ते त्यांची नवीन शक्ती संपादन करतील; ते गरुडासारखे पंखांनी वर उडतील; ते धावतील तरी दमणार नाहीत; ते चालतील तरी गळून जाणार नाहीत.
