< Haggai 1 >

1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
Darius siangpahrang toksakhaih saning hnet, khrah tarukto haih, ni hmaloe koek ah, Tahmaa Haggai khae hoiah Shealtiel capa, Judah prae ukkung, Zerubbabel hoi Jehosadak capa, kalen koek qaima, Joshua khaeah Angraeng ih lok to angzoh.
2 Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should be built.
Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih: hae kaminawk mah, Angraeng ih im sak hanah, atue pha ai vop, tiah thuih o.
3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
To pacoengah Angraeng ih lok to Tahmaa Haggai khae hoiah angzoh;
4 Is it time for you, O all of you, to dwell in your covered over houses, and this house lie waste?
hae im amro naah, kahoih ah pathoep het ih nangmacae im ah oh hanah atue mah phak boeh maw? tiah a naa.
5 Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
To pongah vaihi misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah hae tiah thuih: Na caeh o haih loklam to kahoih ah poek oh.
6 All of you have sown much, and bring in little; all of you eat, but all of you have not enough; all of you drink, but all of you are not filled with drink; all of you clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes.
Nangcae loe cang pop parai ah na tuk o, toe zetta ni na aah o; na caak o e, zok nam hah o ai: na naek o e, nam hah o ai: nang khuk o e, na bae o ai: kami mah a toksakhaih atho to akhaw kaom tangka tabu thungah ni pacaengh, tiah thuih.
7 Thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
To pongah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah, Na caeh o haih loklamnawk to kahoih ah poek oh, tiah thuih.
8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, says the LORD.
Mae nuiah caeh o tahang ah, thing to sin oh loe, im to sah oh, kai pakoeh hanah, a thungah anghoe hoi ka oh han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
9 All of you looked for much, and, lo it came to little; and when all of you brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? says the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and all of you run every man unto his own house.
Pop parai oephaih na tawnh o, toe khenah, zetta ni na hnuk o; im ah na sinh o naah, kai mah kang hmu pae phaeng. Tipongah to tiah oh loe? tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng mah thuih. Kai ih im loe amro pongah, kaminawk angmacae im ah cawnh o boih.
10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
To pongah nangcae ranui ah kaom van mah dantui to pakaa moe, long mah doeh thingthai athai ai ah oh.
11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
To pongah, lawk hoi maenawk, cang hoi kangtha misurtui, situi, akung amprawkhaih long, kaminawk, pacah ih moinawk, ban hoi sak ih hmuennawk angqo boih hanah lok ka paek boeh, tiah thuih.
12 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.
To naah Shealtiel capa Zerubbabel, Jehosadak capa kalen koek qaima, Joshua, anghmat kaminawk loe, angmacae ih Angraeng Sithaw mah anih to patoeh baktih toengah, angmacae Angraeng Sithaw ih lok hoi tahmaa Haggai ih loknawk to tang o: kaminawk mah Angraeng to zit o.
13 Then spoke Haggai the LORD's messenger in the LORD's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, says the LORD.
To pacoengah Angraeng ih laicaeh Haggai mah Angraeng ih lok to kaminawk khaeah thuih pae; Kai loe nangcae hoi nawnto ka oh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
14 And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
Angraeng mah Shealtiel capa, Judah prae ukkung, Zerubbabel ih palungthin, Jehozadak capa, kalen koek qaima, Joshua ih palungthin, anghmat kaminawk boih ih palungthin to pathawk pae: nihcae loe angzoh o moe, angmacae, misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng im to sak o.
15 In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
