Exodus 4

1 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD has not appeared unto you.

೧ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬದೆ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬಹುದು?” ಎಂದನು.

2 And the LORD said unto him, What is that in your hand? And he said, A rod.

೨ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವುದೇನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು, ಇದು “ಇದು ಒಂದು ಕೋಲು” ಅಂದನು.

3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

೩ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅದನ್ನು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕು” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಲೇ ಅದು ಹಾವಾಯಿತು! ಮೋಶೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಓಡಿಹೋದನು.

4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth your hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

೪ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ಅದರ ಬಾಲವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅದು ಕೋಲಾಯಿತು.

5 That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared unto you.

೫ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮ್, ಇಸಾಕ್, ಯಾಕೋಬರ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಯೆಹೋವನು, ನಿನಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ನಿಜ ಎಂದು ನಂಬುವರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

6 And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now your hand into your bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

೬ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಎದೆಯಭಾಗದೊಳಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೋ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ಹಾಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಗೆ ತೆಗೆಯಲು ಅವನ ಕೈ ಕುಷ್ಠ ಹತ್ತಿ ಹಿಮದಂತೆ ಬೆಳ್ಳಗಾಗಿತ್ತು.

7 And he said, Put your hand into your bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.

೭ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಎದೆಯಭಾಗದೊಳಗೆ “ಸೇರಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಎದೆಯಭಾಗದೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿ ತೆಗೆದು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅದು ಉಳಿದ ದೇಹದಂತೆ ಆಗಿತ್ತು.

8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe you, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

೮ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬದೆ, ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸದೆ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿದರೂ, ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಂಬುವರು.

9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which you take out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

೯ಆ ಎರಡು ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವರು ನಂಬದೆಯೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆಯೂ ಹೋದರೆ, ನೀನು ನೈಲ್ ನದಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಒಣಗಿದ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿಯಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಒಣಗಿದ ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಿದ ನೀರು ರಕ್ತವಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

10 And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither in time past, nor since you have spoken unto your servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

೧೦ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಾನು ವಾಕ್ಚಾತುರ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದವನು. ನಾನು ತೊದಲುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯೂ ಮಂದವಾಗಿವೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

11 And the LORD said unto him, Who has made man's mouth? or who makes the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?

೧೧ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಬಾಯಿಕೊಟ್ಟವನು ಯಾರು? ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಮೂಕನಾಗಿ, ಕಿವುಡನಾಗಿ, ದೃಷ್ಠಿಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುರುಡನಾಗಿ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದವನಾರು? ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನಾನೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?

12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall say.

೧೨ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಈಗಲೇ ನೀನು ಹೊರಡು, ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಲು ಬೇಕಾದ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾ, ನೀನು ಮಾತನಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

13 And he said, O my LORD, send, I pray you, by the hand of him whom you will send.

೧೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು, “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನೀನು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕು” ಎಂದನು.

14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he comes forth to meet you: and when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

೧೪ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಲೇವಿಯನಾದ ಆರೋನನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಲ್ಲವೇ? ಅವನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಬಲ್ಲವನೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ಅವನೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುವನು.

15 And you shall speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what all of you shall do.

೧೫ನೀನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಡು. ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಗೂ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು ನೀವು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸುವೆನು.

16 And he shall be your spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to you instead of a mouth, and you shall be to him instead of God.

೧೬ಅವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಜನರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವನು. ಅವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಬಾಯಂತಿರುವನು. ನೀನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ದೇವರಂತಿರುವಿ.

17 And you shall take this rod in your hand, wherewith you shall do signs.

೧೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಈ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು. ಇದರಿಂದಲೇ ಆ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಿ” ಅಂದನು.

18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray you, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.

೧೮ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಾವನಾದ ಇತ್ರೋನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಇದ್ದಾರೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂದು ಹೋಗಿ ನೋಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದನು. ಇತ್ರೋನನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹೋಗು” ಅಂದನು.

19 And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought your life.

೧೯ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮಿದ್ಯಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ, ನೀನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗು. ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸತ್ತು ಹೋದರು ಎಂದನು.

20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

೨೦ಮೋಶೆ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು. ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ದೇವದಂಡವನ್ನು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.

21 And the LORD said unto Moses, When you go to return into Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in your hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

೨೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಇಂತೆಂದನು, “ನೀನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಫರೋಹನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಆದರೂ ನಾನು ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸುವೆನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಜನರನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲು ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

22 And you shall say unto Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

೨೨ಆಗ ನೀನು ಫರೋಹನಿಗೆ, ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು, ನನಗೆ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲಮಗನು.

23 And I say unto you, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if you refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay your son, even your firstborn.

೨೩ಹಾಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡಬೇಕು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ಒಪ್ಪದೇ ಹೋದರೆ, ನಾನು ನಿನಗಿರುವ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲಮಗನನ್ನು ಸಾಯಿಸುವೆನೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ’” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಕು.

24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.

೨೪ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಹೋಗುವ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಛತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನೆದುರಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು.

25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband are you to me.

೨೫ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ ಚಿಪ್ಪೋರಳು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಚೂರಿಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದಳು. ನಂತರ ಅವಳು, “ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ರಕ್ತಧಾರೆಯಿಂದಾದ ಮದಲಿಂಗನು” ಎಂದಳು.

26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband you are, because of the circumcision.

೨೬ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವಳು, “ಸುನ್ನತಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೇ ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ರಕ್ತಧಾರೆಯಿಂದಾದ ಮದಲಿಂಗನು” ಎಂಬ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದಳು.

27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.

೨೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆರೋನನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಮೋಶೆಯನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮರುಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗು” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವರ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲೇ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡು ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು.

28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.

೨೮ಆಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಆರೋನನಿಗೆ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆರೋನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.

29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:

೨೯ತರುವಾಯ ಮೋಶೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೋನರು ಹೋಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿದರು.

30 And Aaron spoke all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

೩೦ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆರೋನನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಜನರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

೩೧ಜನರು ನಂಬಿದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಕಟಾಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ದುರವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಂಡನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ತಲೆಬಾಗಿಸಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರು.
