Esther 6
1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
În acea noapte împăratul nu a putut să doarmă şi a poruncit să fie adusă cartea de scriere a cronicilor; şi ele au fost citite înaintea împăratului.
2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.
Şi s-a găsit scris că Mardoheu a spus despre Bigtana şi Tereş, doi dintre famenii împăratului, păzitorii uşii, care au căutat să pună mâna pe împăratul Ahaşveroş.
3 And the king said, What honour and dignity has been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
Şi împăratul a spus: Ce onoare şi demnitate s-a făcut lui Mardoheu pentru aceasta? Atunci servitorii împăratului care îi serveau i-au spus: Nu i s-a făcut nimic.
4 And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house, to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.
Şi împăratul a spus: Cine este în curte? Iar Haman intrase în curtea dinafară a casei împăratului, pentru a vorbi cu împăratul să îl spânzure pe Mardoheu de spânzurătoarea pregătită pentru el.
5 And the king's servants said unto him, Behold, Haman stands in the court. And the king said, Let him come in.
Şi servitorii împăratului i-au spus: Iată, Haman stă în picioare în curte. Şi împăratul a zis: Lăsaţi-l să intre.
6 So Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delights to honour? Now Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?
Aşa că Haman a intrat. Şi împăratul i-a spus: Ce să se facă bărbatului pe care împăratul doreşte să îl onoreze? Şi Haman s-a gândit în inima lui: Cui ar dori împăratul să dea mai mult onoare decât mie?
7 And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delights to honour,
Şi Haman a răspuns împăratului: Pentru bărbatul pe care împăratul doreşte să îl onoreze,
8 Let the royal apparel be brought which the king uses to wear, and the horse that the king rides upon, and the crown royal which is set upon his head:
Să fie adus veşmântul împărătesc pe care împăratul obişnuieşte a-l îmbrăca şi calul pe care împăratul călăreşte, şi pe cap să i se pună coroana împărătească;
9 And let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most noble princes, that they may array the man likewise whom the king delights to honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king delights to honour.
Şi acest veşmânt şi cal să fie puse în mâna unuia dintre cei mai nobili prinţi, ca ei să îmbrace cu acestea pe bărbatul pe care împăratul doreşte să îl onoreze, şi să îl poarte călare prin piaţa cetăţii şi să vestească înaintea lui: Astfel se va face bărbatului pe care împăratul doreşte să îl onoreze!
10 Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as you have said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sits at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that you have spoken.
Atunci împăratul i-a spus lui Haman: Grăbeşte-te şi ia veşmântul şi calul precum ai spus, şi fă chiar aşa lui Mardoheu, iudeul, care stă la poarta împăratului; să nu lipsească nimic din tot ce ai zis.
11 Then took Haman the apparel and the horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delights to honour.
Apoi Haman a luat veşmântul şi calul şi l-a îmbrăcat pe Mardoheu, şi l-a purtat călare prin piaţa cetăţii şi a vestit înaintea lui: Astfel se va face bărbatului pe care împăratul doreşte să îl onoreze!
12 And Mordecai came again to the king's gate. But Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head covered.
Şi Mardoheu s-a întors la poarta împăratului. Dar Haman s-a grăbit la casa lui jelind, şi cu capul acoperit.
13 And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom you have begun to fall, you shall not prevail against him, but shall surely fall before him.
Şi Haman i-a spus lui Zereş, soţiei sale, şi tuturor prietenilor săi tot ce i se întâmplase. Atunci înţelepţii lui şi Zereş, soţia lui, i-au spus: Dacă Mardoheu este din sămânţa iudeilor, înaintea cărora ai început să cazi, nu vei învinge împotriva lui, ci cu siguranţă vei cădea înaintea lui.
14 And while they were yet talking with him, came the king's chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had prepared.
Şi în timp ce ei încă vorbeau cu el, au venit famenii împăratului şi s-au grăbit să ducă pe Haman la ospăţul pe care Estera l-a pregătit.
