Deuteronomy 6
1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that all of you might do them in the land where all of you go to possess it:
Estos son, pues, los Mandamientos, los Estatutos y las Ordenanzas que Yavé su ʼElohim ordenó que les enseñara para que los practiquen en la tierra a la cual pasan para poseerla,
2 That you might fear the LORD your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.
a fin de que temas a Yavé tu ʼElohim, tú, tu hijo y tu nieto, y guarden todos los días de tu vida todos sus Estatutos y Mandamientos que yo te ordeno para que tus días sean prolongados.
3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that all of you may increase mightily, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey.
Oye pues, oh Israel, y cuidarás de hacerlo, como Yavé, el ʼElohim de tus antepasados, te habló para que te vaya bien y te multipliques muchísimo en la tierra que fluye leche y miel.
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Oye, Israel: Yavé nuestro ʼElohim, Yavé es uno.
5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all of your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
Amarás a Yavé tu ʼElohim con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con toda tu fuerza.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart:
Estas palabras que te ordeno hoy permanecerán sobre tu corazón.
7 And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Las inculcarás a tus hijos y hablarás de ellas sentado en tu casa, cuando andes por el camino, al acostarte y al levantarte.
8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
Las atarás como señal sobre tu mano, y estarán como frontales entre tus ojos.
9 And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates.
Las escribirás en las jambas de tu casa y en tus puertas.
10 And it shall be, when the LORD your God shall have brought you into the land which he swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you builded not,
Sucederá que cuando Yavé tu ʼElohim te introduzca en la tierra que juró a tus antepasados, a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob, que te daría una tierra que tiene grandes y espléndidas ciudades que tú no edificaste,
11 And houses full of all good things, which you filled not, and wells dug, which you dug not, vineyards and olive trees, which you planted not; when you shall have eaten and be full;
con casas llenas de todo bien que tú no llenaste, con pozos excavados que tú no cavaste, y con viñas y olivares que tú no plantaste, y comas y te hartes,
12 Then beware lest you forget the LORD, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
guárdate de olvidar a Yavé Quien te sacó de la tierra de Egipto, de la casa de esclavitud.
13 You shall fear the LORD your God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name.
Temerás a Yavé tu ʼElohim. A Él servirás y en su Nombre jurarás.
14 All of you shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
No seguirán otros ʼelohim, los ʼelohim de los pueblos que los rodean,
15 (For the LORD your God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.
porque Yavé tu ʼElohim, Quien mora en medio de ti, es celoso, no sea que el furor de Yavé tu ʼElohim se encienda contra ti y te destruya de sobre la superficie de la tierra.
16 All of you shall not tempt the LORD your God, as all of you tempted him in Massah.
No tentarán a Yavé su ʼElohim, como lo tentaron en Masa.
17 All of you shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.
Guarden diligentemente los Mandamientos de Yavé su ʼElohim, sus Testimonios y sus Estatutos que les ordenó.
18 And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which the LORD swore unto your fathers.
Harás lo recto y lo bueno ante Yavé para que te vaya bien, y entres y poseas la buena tierra que Yavé prometió con juramento a tus antepasados,
19 To cast out all of your enemies from before you, as the LORD has spoken.
para que Él eche a todos tus enemigos de delante de ti, como Yavé prometió.
20 And when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God has commanded you?
Cuando tu hijo te pregunte mañana: ¿Qué significan los Testimonios, los Estatutos y las Ordenanzas que Yavé nuestro ʼElohim les ordenó?
21 Then you shall say unto your son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
Entonces dirás a tu hijo: Nosotros éramos esclavos de Faraón en Egipto, pero Yavé nos sacó de Egipto con mano fuerte.
22 And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:
Ante nuestros propios ojos, Yavé hizo señales y grandes prodigios en Egipto contra Faraón y contra toda su casa,
23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore unto our fathers.
y nos sacó de allá para traernos y darnos la tierra que prometió con juramento a nuestros antepasados.
24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
Yavé nos ordenó practicar todos estos Estatutos y temer a Yavé nuestro ʼElohim para que siempre nos vaya bien y para que nos conserve la vida, como sucede hoy.
25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.
Será justicia para nosotros si tenemos el cuidado de cumplir todo este Mandamiento delante de Yavé nuestro ʼElohim, tal como Él nos ordenó.
