< Deuteronomy 6 >

1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that all of you might do them in the land where all of you go to possess it:

2 That you might fear the LORD your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.
Nĩgeetha inyuĩ na ciana cianyu, na ciana ciao iria igooka thuutha mwĩtigagĩre Jehova Ngai wanyu rĩrĩa rĩothe mũgũtũũra muoyo, na ũndũ wa kũmenyerera watho wake wothe wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo, na maathani marĩa mothe ngũmũhe, na nĩguo mũtũũre mũkenete matukũ maingĩ.
3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that all of you may increase mightily, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you, in the land that flows with milk and honey.
Atĩrĩrĩ wee Isiraeli, thikĩrĩria na ũmenyagĩrĩre gwathĩkaga nĩgeetha ũtũũre wonaga maũndũ mega, na ningĩ nĩgeetha mũingĩhe mũno mũrĩ bũrũri ũrĩ bũthi wa iria na ũũkĩ, o ta ũrĩa Jehova Ngai wa maithe manyu aamwĩrĩire.
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
Atĩrĩrĩ, wee Isiraeli, thikĩrĩria: Jehova Ngai witũ, we wiki nowe Jehova.
5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all of your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
Endaga Jehova Ngai waku na ngoro yaku yothe, na muoyo waku wothe, na hinya waku wothe.
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart:
Maathani maya ndĩrakũhe ũmũthĩ ũreke matũũre ngoro-inĩ yaku.
7 And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Ũmarutage ciana ciaku na kĩyo. Aragia ũhoro wamo rĩrĩa ũikarĩte gwaku mũciĩ na rĩrĩa ũgũthiĩ na njĩra, o na rĩrĩa ũkomete na rĩrĩa wokĩra.
8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
Mohagĩrĩre guoko-inĩ gwaku marĩ imenyithia, na ũmohagĩrĩre ũthiũ-inĩ waku.
9 And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates.
Maandĩke hingĩro-inĩ cia mĩrango ya nyũmba ciaku, o na ũmaandĩke ihingo-inĩ ciaku.
10 And it shall be, when the LORD your God shall have brought you into the land which he swore unto your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you builded not,
Na rĩrĩ, hĩndĩ ĩrĩa Jehova Ngai waku agaagũkinyia bũrũri ũcio erĩire maithe maku na mwĩhĩtwa: akĩĩrĩra Iburahĩmu, na Isaaka, na Jakubu, atĩ nĩagakũhe bũrũri ũrĩ na matũũra manene, mega, ũtaakĩte wee mwene,
11 And houses full of all good things, which you filled not, and wells dug, which you dug not, vineyards and olive trees, which you planted not; when you shall have eaten and be full;
na akũhe nyũmba ciyũrĩte indo njega cia mĩthemba yothe, no tiwe mwene ũciyũrĩtie kuo, na ithima ũteenjete wee mwene, na mĩgũnda ya mĩthabibũ na ya mĩtamaiyũ ĩrĩa ũtaahandĩte wee mwene; hĩndĩ ĩyo warĩa na wahũũna,
12 Then beware lest you forget the LORD, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
ũkaamenyerera ndũkanariganĩrwo nĩ Jehova, ũrĩa wakũrutire bũrũri wa Misiri, agĩkũruta bũrũri wa ũkombo.
13 You shall fear the LORD your God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name.
Wĩtigagĩre Jehova Ngai waku, ũmũtungatĩre o we wiki, na rĩrĩa ũkwĩhĩta ũgwetage rĩĩtwa rĩake.
14 All of you shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
Ndũkanarũmĩrĩre ngai ingĩ, ngai cia andũ arĩa makũrigiicĩirie;
15 (For the LORD your God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and destroy you from off the face of the earth.
nĩgũkorwo Jehova Ngai waku, ũrĩa ũrĩ gatagatĩ-inĩ kanyu, nĩ Ngai ũrĩ ũiru, na marakara make nĩmagagũũkĩrĩra magũcine, na makũniine biũ ũthire bũrũri-inĩ ũcio.
16 All of you shall not tempt the LORD your God, as all of you tempted him in Massah.
Mũtikanagerie Jehova Ngai wanyu ta ũrĩa mwekire kũu Masa.
17 All of you shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.
Mũtikanaage kũmenyerera maathani ma Jehova Ngai wanyu, na irĩkanĩro, na kĩrĩra kĩa watho wake wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo, marĩa akũheete ũrũmagĩrĩre.
18 And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which the LORD swore unto your fathers.

19 To cast out all of your enemies from before you, as the LORD has spoken.
atĩ nĩakaingata thũ cianyu ciothe ciehere mbere yaku, o ta ũrĩa Jehova oigĩte.
20 And when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God has commanded you?
Matukũ-inĩ ma thuutha, rĩrĩa mũrũguo agaakũũria atĩrĩ, “Gĩtũmi kĩa irĩkanĩro icio, na kĩrĩra kĩa watho wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo na mawatho marĩa Jehova Ngai aamwathĩte mũrũmagĩrĩre, nĩ kĩĩ?”
21 Then you shall say unto your son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
Ũkaamũcookeria atĩrĩ: “Ithuĩ twarĩ ngombo cia Firaũni kũu bũrũri wa Misiri, no Jehova agĩtũruta bũrũri ũcio wa Misiri na ũndũ wa guoko gwake kwa hinya.
22 And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:
Nĩtweyoneire na maitho maitũ Jehova akĩringa ciama na agĩĩka maũndũ ma kũgegania, maũndũ manene mũno na ma kũmakania, akĩmeeka kũu bũrũri wa Misiri, o na kũrĩ Firaũni na andũ a nyũmba yake yothe.
23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore unto our fathers.
No nĩatũrutire kuuma kũu nĩgeetha atũrehe gũkũ nĩguo atũhe bũrũri ũyũ eerĩire maithe maitũ ma tene na mwĩhĩtwa.
24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
Nake Jehova agĩtwatha twathĩkagĩre kĩrĩra kĩa watho wothe wa kũrũmĩrĩrwo, na twĩtigagĩre Jehova Ngai witũ, nĩgeetha tũgaacagĩre hĩndĩ ciothe, na tũtũũre muoyo o ta ũrĩa gũtariĩ ũmũthĩ.
25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.
Na ithuĩ tũngĩmenyerera gwathĩkĩra watho ũyũ wothe tũrĩ mbere ya Jehova Ngai witũ, o ta ũrĩa atwathĩte-rĩ, ũcio nĩ ũgaatuĩka ũthingu witũ.”
