< Deuteronomy 21 >

1 If one be found slain in the land which the LORD your God gives you to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who has slain him:
“在耶和华—你 神所赐你为业的地上,若遇见被杀的人倒在田野,不知道是谁杀的,
2 Then your elders and your judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:
长老和审判官就要出去,从被杀的人那里量起,直量到四围的城邑,
3 And it shall be, that the city which is next unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take an heifer, which has not been wrought with, and which has not drawn in the yoke;
看哪城离被杀的人最近,那城的长老就要从牛群中取一只未曾耕地、未曾负轭的母牛犊,
4 And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither eared nor sown, and shall strike off the heifer's neck there in the valley:
把母牛犊牵到流水、未曾耕种的山谷去,在谷中打折母牛犊的颈项。
5 And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the LORD your God has chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the LORD; and by their word shall every controversy and every stroke be tried:
祭司利未的子孙要近前来;因为耶和华—你的 神拣选了他们事奉他,奉耶和华的名祝福,所有争讼殴打的事都要凭他们判断。
6 And all the elders of that city, that are next unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer that is beheaded in the valley:
那城的众长老,就是离被杀的人最近的,要在那山谷中,在所打折颈项的母牛犊以上洗手,
7 And they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
祷告说:‘我们的手未曾流这人的血;我们的眼也未曾看见这事。
8 Be merciful, O LORD, unto your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto your people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
耶和华啊,求你赦免你所救赎的以色列民,不要使流无辜血的罪归在你的百姓以色列中间。’这样,流血的罪必得赦免。
9 So shall you put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you, when you shall do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.
你行耶和华眼中看为正的事,就可以从你们中间除掉流无辜血的罪。”
10 When you go forth to war against your enemies, and the LORD your God has delivered them into your hands, and you have taken them captive,
“你出去与仇敌争战的时候,耶和华—你的 神将他们交在你手中,你就掳了他们去。
11 And see among the captives a beautiful woman, and have a desire unto her, that you would have her to your wife;
若在被掳的人中见有美貌的女子,恋慕她,要娶她为妻,
12 Then you shall bring her home to your house, and she shall shave her head, and trim her nails;
就可以领她到你家里去;她便要剃头发,修指甲,
13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in your house, and mourn for her father and her mother a full month: and after that you shall go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.
脱去被掳时所穿的衣服,住在你家里哀哭父母一个整月,然后可以与她同房。你作她的丈夫,她作你的妻子。
14 And it shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she will; but you shall not sell her at all for money, you shall not make merchandise of her, because you have humbled her.
后来你若不喜悦她,就要由她随意出去,决不可为钱卖她,也不可当婢女待她,因为你玷污了她。”
15 If a man have two wives, one beloved, and another hated, and they have born him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated:
“人若有二妻,一为所爱,一为所恶,所爱的、所恶的都给他生了儿子,但长子是所恶之妻生的。
16 Then it shall be, when he makes his sons to inherit that which he has, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, which is indeed the firstborn:
到了把产业分给儿子承受的时候,不可将所爱之妻生的儿子立为长子,在所恶之妻生的儿子以上,
17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he has: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.
却要认所恶之妻生的儿子为长子,将产业多加一分给他;因这儿子是他力量强壮的时候生的,长子的名分本当归他。”
18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
“人若有顽梗悖逆的儿子,不听从父母的话,他们虽惩治他,他仍不听从,
19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
父母就要抓住他,将他带到本地的城门、本城的长老那里,
20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
对长老说:‘我们这儿子顽梗悖逆,不听从我们的话,是贪食好酒的人。’
21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shall you put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
本城的众人就要用石头将他打死。这样,就把那恶从你们中间除掉,以色列众人都要听见害怕。”
22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and you hang him on a tree:
“人若犯该死的罪,被治死了,你将他挂在木头上,
23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but you shall in any way bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God; ) that your land be not defiled, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance.
他的尸首不可留在木头上过夜,必要当日将他葬埋,免得玷污了耶和华—你 神所赐你为业之地。因为被挂的人是在 神面前受咒诅的。
