Amos 5
1 Hear all of you this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
Ouça esta palavra que eu tomo por lamentação sobre você, ó casa de Israel:
2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
“A virgem de Israel caiu; Ela não deve mais se levantar. Ela é lançada em suas terras; não há ninguém para levantá-la”.
3 For thus says the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
Para o Senhor Yahweh diz: “A cidade que saiu mil terá uma centena, e o que saiu cem terá dez para a casa de Israel”.
4 For thus says the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek all of you me, and all of you shall live:
Para Yahweh diz à casa de Israel: “Procure-me, e você viverá”;
5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
mas não procure a Betel, nem entrar em Gilgal, e não passe para Beersheba; para Gilgal certamente irá para o cativeiro, e Betel não dará em nada.
6 Seek the LORD, and all of you shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
Procure Yahweh, e você viverá, para que ele não irrompa como fogo na casa de José, e devora, e não há ninguém para saciá-la em Betel.
7 All of you who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
Você que faz justiça à madeira de minhoca, e lançar a justiça para a terra!
8 Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
Seek aquele que fez as Plêiades e Orion, e transforma a sombra da morte na manhã, e faz o dia escurecer com a noite; que clama pelas águas do mar, e os derrama sobre a superfície da terra, Yahweh é seu nome,
9 That strengthens the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
who traz destruição súbita para os fortes, para que a destruição venha sobre a fortaleza.
10 They hate him that rebukes in the gate, and they detest him that speaks uprightly.
Eles odeiam aquele que se reprova no portão, e abominam aquele que fala sem culpa.
11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and all of you take from him burdens of wheat: all of you have built houses of hewn stone, but all of you shall not dwell in them; all of you have planted pleasant vineyards, but all of you shall not drink wine of them.
Portanto, porque você pisoteia os pobres e lhe retira impostos sobre o trigo, você construiu casas de pedra cortada, mas não vai morar nelas. Você plantou vinhedos agradáveis, mas você não deve beber o vinho deles.
12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
Pois eu sei quantos são suas ofensas, e como são grandes seus pecados... você que aflige os justos, que aceitam um suborno, e que afastam os necessitados nos tribunais.
13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
Portanto, uma pessoa prudente se mantém em silêncio em tal momento, pois é um momento maligno.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that all of you may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as all of you have spoken.
Procure o bem, e não o mal, que você possa viver; e assim Yahweh, o Deus dos Exércitos, estará com você, como você diz.
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Odiar o mal, amar o bem, e estabelecer a justiça nos tribunais. Pode ser que Yahweh, o Deus dos Exércitos, seja gracioso com o remanescente de José”.
16 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the LORD, says thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the farmer to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
Portanto Yahweh, o Deus dos Exércitos, o Senhor, diz: “Lamentar será em todos os sentidos. Eles dirão em todas as ruas: “Ai de mim! Ai de mim! Eles chamarão o fazendeiro para o luto, e aqueles que são habilidosos em lamentações para lamentar.
17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through you, says the LORD.
Em todos os vinhedos haverá pranto, pois vou passar pelo meio de vocês”, diz Yahweh.
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
“Woe to you who desire the day of Yahweh! Por que você anseia pelo dia de Yahweh? É a escuridão, e não leves.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
Como se um homem fugisse de um leão, e um urso o conheceu; ou ele entrou na casa e encostou sua mão na parede, e uma cobra o mordeu.
20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
O dia de Yahweh não será escuridão, e não luz? Mesmo muito escuro, e sem brilho nele?
21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
Eu odeio, eu desprezo suas festas, e eu não suporto suas assembléias solenes.
22 Though all of you offer me burnt offerings and your food offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
Sim, embora você me ofereça suas ofertas de queimados e de refeições, Não vou aceitá-los; nem considerarei as ofertas de paz de seus animais gordos.
23 Take you away from me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the melody of your viols.
Tire de mim o barulho de suas canções! Não vou ouvir a música de suas harpas.
24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
Mas deixe a justiça rolar como rios, e retidão como uma corrente poderosa.
25 Have all of you offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
“Você trouxe para mim sacrifícios e ofertas no deserto durante quarenta anos, casa de Israel?
26 But all of you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which all of you made to yourselves.
Vós também levastes a tenda de vosso rei e o santuário de vossas imagens, a estrela de vosso deus, que fizestes para vós mesmos.
27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, says the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
Portanto, eu vos farei ir em cativeiro para além de Damasco”, diz Javé, cujo nome é o Deus dos Exércitos.
