Acts 18
1 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
後，保祿就離開雅典，來到了格林多。
2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome: ) and came unto them.
在那裏遇見了一個猶太人，名叫阿桂拉，原藉本都，他同妻子普黎史拉最近從義大利來，因為喀勞狄曾命所有的猶太人都離開羅馬。保祿就投到他們那裏，
3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
因為是同業，保祿便留在他們那裏工作；原來他們是以製造帳幕為業的。
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.
每逢安息日，保祿就在會堂裏辯論，勸化猶太人和希臘人。
5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, (pneuma) and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.
及至息拉和弟茂德從馬其頓來到後，保祿就專心傳道，向猶太人證明耶穌就是默西亞。
6 And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
可是，因為他們反對，而且說褻瀆的話，保祿就拂拭衣服向他們說：「你們的血歸到你們頭上，與我無干，從今以後，我要到外邦人那裏去了。」
7 And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
於是離開那裏，進了一個名叫弟鐸猶斯托的家裏，這人敬畏天主，他的家緊靠著會堂。
8 And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
會堂長克黎斯頗和他的全家都信了主，還有許多格林多人聽了道而相信，也領了洗。
9 Then spoke the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not your peace:
夜間，主藉異象對保祿說：「不要害怕，只管講，不要緘默，
10 For I am with you, and no man shall set on you to hurt you: for I have much people in this city.
因為有我與你同在，必沒有人向你下手加害你，因為在這城裏有許多百姓是屬於我的。」
11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word (logos) of God among them.
於是，他就在那裏住了一年零六個月，在他們中講授天主的聖道。
12 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,
當加里雍作阿哈雅總督時，猶太人同心合意地起來攻擊保祿，把他帶到法庭
13 Saying, This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.
說：「這個人勸人違法敬拜天主。」
14 And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O all of you Jews, reason (logos) would that I should bear with you:
保祿剛要開口，加里雍就向猶太人說：「猶太人啊！如果有什麼犯法或邪惡的罪行，我自當容忍你們；
15 But if it be a question of words (logos) and names, and of your law, look all of you to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.
但問題既是關於道理、名目和你們自己的法律的事，你們自己管罷，我不願作這些事的判官。」
16 And he drove them from the judgment seat.
就把他們逐出了法庭。
17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.
於是眾希臘人拉住會堂長索斯特乃，在法庭前打了他；而加里雍全不理睬這些事。
18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.
保祿又住了些日子，就與弟兄們辭別，乘船往敘利亞去；和他一起的，有普黎史拉和和阿桂拉，因為保祿許有誓願，在耕格勒剃了頭髮。
19 And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
到了厄弗所，保祿便把他們留在那裏，自己進了會堂，同猶太人辯論。
20 When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;
眾人求他多住些時候，他沒有應允，
21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that comes in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
卻辭別他們說：「若是天主願意，我還要回到你們這裏來。」遂從厄弗所開船走了。
22 And when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.
在凱撒勒雅下船，就上耶路撒冷問候教會，然後下到安提約基雅。
23 And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.
保祿住了一個時期，又出發，挨次經過迦拉達區和夫黎基雅，堅固眾位門徒。
24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
有一個在亞歷山大里亞出生的猶太人，名叫阿頗羅，是個有口才的人，長於聖經，他到了厄弗所。
25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, (pneuma) he spoke and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
這人學過主的道理，講論耶穌的事，心神熱烈，教訓人也很詳實，卻只知若翰的洗禮。
26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
這人開始在會堂裏放膽講論。普黎史拉和阿桂拉聽了他的講論，就把他接來，給他更詳實地講解了天主的道理。
27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
阿頗羅有意往阿哈雅去，弟兄們都鼓勵他，並且給門徒寫信，叫他們接待他；他到了那裏，依賴恩寵，給了信友們很多的貢獻，
28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
因為他經常有力地當眾駁倒猶太人，用聖經指明耶穌就是默西亞。
