2 Samuel 11
1 And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
बसन्त ऋतुमा यस्तो भयो, यो समयमा राजाहरू सामान्यतया युद्धमा जान्छन्, जसले गर्दा दाऊदले योआब, तिनका सेवकहरू र इस्राएलका सबै फौजलाई पठाए । तिनीहरूले अम्मोनका फौजलाई नाश गरे र रब्बालाई घराबन्दी गरे । तर दाऊदचाहिं यरूशलेममा नै बसे ।
2 And it came to pass in an evening-time, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.
त्यसैले एक साँझ यस्तो भयो, दाऊद आफ्नो ओछ्यानबाट उठे र आफ्नो दरबारको छतमा हिंडिरहे । त्यहाँबाट तिनले एक जना स्त्रीलाई देखे जो नुहाइरहेकी थिइन्, र ती महिला हेर्दा साह्रै सुन्दरी थिइन् ।
3 And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
त्यसैले दाऊदले मानिसहरू बोलाए र ती स्त्रीलाई चिन्नेहरूलाई सोधे । कसैले भन्यो, “के यिनी एलीआमकी छोरी बतशेबा र हित्ती उरियाहकी पत्नी होइनन् र?”
4 And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house.
दाऊदले दूतहरू पठाए र तिनलाई ल्याए । तिनकहाँ उनी आइन् र तिनी उनीसँग सुते (किनकि उनले आफूलाई रजस्वलाबाट भर्खरै मात्र शुद्ध पारेकी थिइन्)। त्यसपछि उनी आफ्नै घरमा फर्किन् ।
5 And the woman conceived, and sent and told David, and said, I am with child.
ती स्त्री गर्भवती भइन् र उनले दाऊदलाई खबर पठाइन् र भनिन् । उनले भनिन्, “म गर्भवती भएछु ।”
6 And David sent to Joab, saying, Send me Uriah the Hittite. And Joab sent Uriah to David.
त्यसपछि दाऊदले यआबलाई यसो भनेर खबर पठाए, “हित्ती उरियाहलाई मकहाँ पठाऊ ।” त्यसैले योआबले उरियाहलाई दाऊदकहाँ पठाए ।
7 And when Uriah was come unto him, David demanded of him how Joab did, and how the people did, and how the war prospered.
जब उरियाह आइपुगे, तब दाऊदले योआब कस्ता छन्, फौज कस्तो छ र युद्ध कस्तो भइरहेको छ भनी सोधपुछ गरे ।
8 And David said to Uriah, Go down to your house, and wash your feet. And Uriah departed out of the king's house, and there followed him a portion of food from the king.
दाऊदले उरियाहलाई भने, “तल आफ्नो घरमा जाऊ र आफ्नो खुट्टा धोऊ ।” त्यसैले उरियाह राजाको दरबारबाट गए र राजाले उरियाह गएपछि तिनको पछिपछि उपहार पठाए ।
9 But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord, and went not down to his house.
तर उरियाह राजाको दरबारको ढोकामा आफ्ना मालिकका सेवकहरूसँगै सुते र तिनी तल आफ्नो घरमा गएनन् ।
10 And when they had told David, saying, Uriah went not down unto his house, David said unto Uriah, Came you not from your journey? why then did you not go down unto your house?
जब तिनीहरूले दाऊदलाई भने, “उरियाह तल आफ्नो घरमा गएनन् ।” दाऊदले उरियाहलाई भने, “के तिमी यात्राबाट आएका होइनौ? तिमी तल आफ्नो घरमा किन नगएको?”
11 And Uriah said unto David, The ark, and Israel, and Judah, abide in tents; and my lord Joab, and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open fields; shall I then go into mine house, to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? as you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.
उरियाहले जवाफ दिए, “सन्दुक, इस्राएल र यहूदा पालमा बसिरहेका छन्, अनि मेरो मालिक योआब र मेरा मलिकका सेवकहरू खुल्ला मैदानमा छाउनीमा छन् । तब म आफ्नो घरमा खान, पिउन र मेरो पत्नीसँग सुत्नलाई कसरी जानु? जस्तो तपाईं जीवित हुनुहुन्छ, म यसो गर्ने छैन ।”
12 And David said to Uriah, Tarry here to day also, and tomorrow I will let you depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day, and the next day.
त्यसैले दाऊदले उरियाहलाई भने, “आज पनि यहीं बस र म तिमीलाई भोलि पठाउने छु ।” त्यसैले उरियाह त्यस दिन र अर्को दिन यरूशलेममा नै बसे ।
13 And when David had called him, he did eat and drink before him; and he made him drunk: and at even he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but went not down to his house.
जब दाऊदले उनलाई बोलाए, उनले तिनको सामु खाए र पिए र दाऊदले तिनलाई मत्याए । साँझमा उरियाह आफ्नो मालिकका सेवकहरूसँगै भएको आफ्नो ओछ्यानमा सुत्न गए । उनी तल आफ्नो घरमा गएनन् ।
14 And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.
त्यसैले बिहान दाऊदले योआबलाई पत्र लेखे र यो उरियाहको हातमा पठाए ।
15 And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set all of you Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire all of you from him, that he may be smitten, and die.
दाऊदले पत्र यसो भनेर लेखे, “धेरै भयङ्कर युद्धको अग्र पङ्तीमा उरियाहलाई राख्नू र त्यसबाट पछि हट्नू, ताकि त्यसलाई प्रहार गरियोस् र मारियोस् ।”
16 And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were.
त्यसैले जब योआबले सहरमाथिको घेराबन्धीलाई हेरे, तब तिनले लड्नलाई बलियो शत्रु सिपाहीहरू छन् भनी जानेका ठाउँमा उरियाहलाई खटाए ।
17 And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also.
जब सहरका मानिसहरू बाहिर निस्के र योआबका फौजसँग युद्ध लडे, तब दाऊदका केही सिपाहीहरू मरे र हित्ती उरियाहलाई पनि त्यहीं मारियो ।
18 Then Joab sent and told David all the things concerning the war;
जब योआबले युद्धको बारेमा हरेक खबर दाऊदलाई पठाए,
19 And charged the messenger, saying, When you have made an end of telling the matters of the war unto the king,
तब तिनले दूतहरूलाई यसो भनेर आज्ञा दिए, “जब तैंले राजालाई युद्धका बारेमा सबै कुराहरू भनेर सिद्ध्याउँछस्,
20 And if so be that the king's wrath arise, and he say unto you, Wherefore approached all of you so nigh unto the city when all of you did fight? knew all of you not that they would shoot from the wall?
तब राजा रिसाउन सक्छन् र तिनले भन्ने छन्, 'तिमीहरू युद्ध गर्न सहरको यति नजिक किन गयौ? के उनीहरूले पर्खालबाट काँड हान्छन् भन्ने तिमीहरूले जानेनौ?
21 Who stroke Abimelech the son of Jerubbesheth? did not a woman cast a piece of a millstone upon him from the wall, that he died in Thebez? why went all of you nigh the wall? then say you, Your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
यरूब-बेसेतका छोरा अबीमेलेकलाई कसले मार्यो? के एक जना स्त्रीले जाँतोको माथिल्को ढुङ्गा पर्खालबाट खसालेर तिनी तेबेसमा मरेकी थिइनन्? तिमीहरू किन पर्खालको यति नजिक गयौ?' तब तैंले जवाफ दिनुपर्छ, 'तपाईंको दास हित्ती उरियाह पनि मरे' ।”
22 So the messenger went, and came and showed David all that Joab had sent him for.
त्यसैले त्यो दूत विदा भयो र दाऊदकहाँ गयो र योआबले तिनलाई भन्न पठाएका हरेक कुरा भनिदिए ।
23 And the messenger said unto David, Surely the men prevailed against us, and came out unto us into the field, and we were upon them even unto the entering of the gate.
त्यसपछि त्यो दूतले दाऊदलाई भने, “सुरुमा हामीभन्दा शत्रुहरू बलिया थिए । उनीहरू हामीमाथि खुल्ला मैदानमा आए, तर हामीले उनीहरूलाई भित्र पस्ने ढोकातिर नै फर्कायौं ।
24 And the shooters shot from off the wall upon your servants; and some of the king's servants be dead, and your servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
तब उनीहरूका काँड हान्नेहरूले पर्खाल माथिबाट तपाईंका केही सिपाहीलाई काँड हाने र राजाका केही सेवक मारिए र तपाईंको दास हित्ती उरियाह पनि मारिए ।”
25 Then David said unto the messenger, Thus shall you say unto Joab, Let not this thing displease you, for the sword devours one as well as another: make your battle more strong against the city, and overthrow it: and encourage you him.
दाऊदले त्यस दूतलाई भने, “योआबलाई भन्, 'यसले तिमीलाई दुःखित नतुल्याओस्, किनकि तरवारले एउटा वा अर्कोलाई नष्ट पार्छ । त्यो सहरको विरुद्ध तिम्रो युद्ध अझ धेरै बलियो पार र त्यसलाई नाश पार,' र तिनलाई उत्साह दिए ।”
26 And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband.
जब उरियाहको पत्नीले आफ्नो पति उरियाह मरेको खबर सुनिन्, तब आफ्नो पतिको निम्ति तिनले गहिरो शोक गरिन् ।
27 And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD.
जब उनको विलाप पुरा भयो, दाऊदले उनलाई आफ्नो दरबारमा ल्याउन लिन पठाए र उनी तिनको पत्नी भइन् र तिनको निति एउटा छोरा जन्माइन् । तर दाऊदले गरेको कुराले परमप्रभुलाई दुःखी तुल्यायो ।
