< 2 Kings 2 >

1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
Nígbà tí Olúwa ń fẹ́ gbé Elijah lọ sí òkè ọ̀run nínú àjà, Elijah àti Eliṣa wà ní ọ̀nà láti Gilgali.
2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD has sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they went down to Bethel.
Elijah wí fún Eliṣa pé, “Dúró níbí; Olúwa rán mi lọ sí Beteli.” Ṣùgbọ́n Eliṣa wí pé, “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti dájú pé Olúwa wà láyé àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti yẹ, èmi kò ní fi ọ́ sílẹ̀.” Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọ́n sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí Beteli.
3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Know you that the LORD will take away your master from your head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold all of you your peace.
Àwọn ọmọ wòlíì ní Beteli jáde wá sí ọ̀dọ̀ Eliṣa wọ́n sì béèrè pé, “Ṣé ìwọ mọ̀ pé Olúwa yóò gba ọ̀gá rẹ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ lónìí?” “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, èmi mọ̀,” Eliṣa dáhùn, “Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ má ṣe sọ̀rọ̀ nípa rẹ̀.”
4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray you; for the LORD has sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. So they came to Jericho.
Nígbà náà Elijah sì wí fún un pé, “Dúró níbí, Eliṣa: Olúwa ti rán mi lọ sí Jeriko.” Ó sì dá a lóhùn pé, “Bí ó ti dájú pé Olúwa yè àti tí ìwọ náà yè, èmi kò ní fi ọ́ sílẹ̀.” Wọ́n sì jọ lọ sí Jeriko.
5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Know you that the LORD will take away your master from your head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold all of you your peace.
Àwọn ọmọ wòlíì tí ó wà ní Jeriko sì gòkè tọ Eliṣa wá wọ́n sì béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Ṣé ìwọ mọ̀ wí pé Olúwa yóò gba ọ̀gá rẹ kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ lónìí?” “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, èmi mọ̀,” Ó dá wọn lóhùn, “Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ má ṣe sọ nípa rẹ̀.”
6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray you, here; for the LORD has sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And they two went on.

7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view far off: and they two stood by Jordan.
Àádọ́ta àwọn ọkùnrin ọmọ wòlíì sì lọ láti lọ dúró ní ọ̀nà jíjìn, wọ́n sì kọ ojú da ibi tí Elijah àti Eliṣa ti dúró ní Jordani.
8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and stroke the waters, and they were divided here and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
Elijah sì mú agbádá ó sì ká a sókè ó sì lu omi náà pẹ̀lú rẹ̀. Omi náà sì pín sí ọ̀tún àti sí òsì, àwọn méjèèjì sì rékọjá lórí ilẹ̀ gbígbẹ.
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you, before I be taken away from you. And Elisha said, I pray you, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.
Nígbà tí wọ́n rékọjá, Elijah sì wí fún Eliṣa pé, “Sọ fún mi, kí ni èmi lè ṣe fún ọ kí ó tó di wí pé wọ́n gbà mí kúrò lọ́dọ̀ rẹ?” “Jẹ́ kí èmi kí ó jogún ìlọ́po méjì ẹ̀mí rẹ.” Ó dá a lóhùn.
10 And he said, You have asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so unto you; but if not, it shall not be so.
“Ìwọ ti béèrè ohun tí ó ṣòro,” Elijah wí pé, “Síbẹ̀ tí ìwọ bá rí mi nígbà tí a bá gbà mí kúrò lọ́wọ́ rẹ, yóò jẹ́ tìrẹ bí bẹ́ẹ̀ kọ́ kò ní rí bẹ́ẹ̀.”
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
Gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti ń rìn lọ tí wọ́n sì ń sọ̀rọ̀ pọ̀, lọ́gán kẹ̀kẹ́ iná àti ẹṣin iná yọ sí wọn ó sì ya àwọn méjèèjì nípa, Elijah sì gòkè lọ sí ọ̀run pẹ̀lú àjà.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
Eliṣa rí èyí ó sì kígbe sókè, “Baba mi! Baba mi! Kẹ̀kẹ́ àti ẹlẹ́ṣin Israẹli!” Eliṣa kò sì rí i mọ́. Ó sì mú aṣọ ara rẹ̀ ó sì fà wọ́n ya sọ́tọ̀.
13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
Ó sì mú agbádá tí ó ti jábọ́ láti ọ̀dọ̀ Elijah ó sì padà lọ, ó sì dúró lórí bèbè Jordani.
14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and stroke the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted here and thither: and Elisha went over.
Ó sì mú agbádá náà tí ó jábọ́ láti ọwọ́ rẹ̀, ó sì lu omi pẹ̀lú rẹ̀. “Níbo ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run Elijah wà?” Ó béèrè. Nígbà tí ó lu omi náà, ó sì pín sí apá ọ̀tún àti sí òsì, Eliṣa sì rékọjá.
15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah does rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
Àwọn ọmọ wòlíì láti Jeriko, tí wọ́n ń wò, wí pé, “Ẹ̀mí Elijah sinmi lé Eliṣa.” Wọ́n sì lọ láti lọ bá a, wọ́n sì dojúbolẹ̀ níwájú rẹ̀.
16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with your servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray you, and seek your master: lest possibly the Spirit of the LORD has taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, All of you shall not send.
“Wò ó,” wọ́n wí pé, “Àwa ìránṣẹ́ ni àádọ́ta ọkùnrin alágbára. Jẹ́ kí wọ́n lọ láti lọ wá ọ̀gá rẹ wá. Bóyá ẹ̀mí Olúwa ti gbé e sókè, ó sì gbé e kalẹ̀ lórí òkè ńlá tàbí lórí ilẹ̀.” “Rárá,” Eliṣa dá a lóhùn pé, “Má ṣe rán wọn.”
17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
Ṣùgbọ́n wọ́n rọ̀ ọ́ títí ojú fi tì í láti gbà. Ó wí pé, “Rán wọn.” Wọ́n sì rán àádọ́ta ènìyàn tí ó wá a fún ọjọ́ mẹ́ta ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò rí i.
18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho, ) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
Nígbà tí wọ́n padà dé ọ̀dọ̀ Eliṣa, tí ó dúró ní Jeriko, ó wí fún wọn pé, “Ṣé èmi kò sọ fún un yín kí ẹ má lọ?”
19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray you, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees: but the water is nil, and the ground barren.
Àwọn ọkùnrin ìlú wí fún Eliṣa, pé, “Wò ó, olúwa wa, ìtẹ̀dó ìlú yìí dára, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ ti rí i, ṣùgbọ́n omi náà burú, ilẹ̀ náà sì sá.”
20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
Ó sì wí pé, “Mú àwokòtò tuntun fún mi wá, kí o sì mú iyọ̀ sí inú rẹ̀.” Wọ́n sì gbé e wá fún un.
21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus says the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
Nígbà náà ó sì jáde lọ sí ibi orísun omi, ó sì da iyọ̀ sí inú rẹ̀, ó wí pé, “Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa wí: ‘Èmi ti wo omi yìí sàn. Kò ní mú ikú wá mọ́ tàbí mú ilẹ̀ náà sá.’”
22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spoke.
Omi náà sì ti dára ni mímu títí di òní, gẹ́gẹ́ bí ọ̀rọ̀ tí Eliṣa ti sọ.
23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, you bald head; go up, you bald head.
Láti ibẹ̀ Eliṣa lọ sókè ní Beteli gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ń rìn lọ lójú ọ̀nà, àwọn ọ̀dọ́ kan jáde wá láti ìlú náà wọ́n sì fi ṣe ẹlẹ́yà. “Máa lọ sókè ìwọ apárí!” Wọ́n wí pé. “Máa lọ sókè ìwọ apárí!”
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
Ó sì yípadà, ó sì wò wọ́n ó sì fi wọ́n bú ní orúkọ Olúwa. Nígbà náà beari méjì sì jáde wá láti inú igbó ó sì lu méjìlélógójì lára àwọn ọ̀dọ́ náà.
25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.
Ó sì lọ sí orí òkè Karmeli láti ibẹ̀ ó sì padà sí Samaria.
