1 Timothy 4
1 Now the Spirit (pneuma) speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, (pneuma) and doctrines of devils;
എന്നാൽ അന്ത്യകാലത്ത് വഴിതെറ്റിക്കുന്ന ആത്മാക്കളെയും പൈശാചിക ഉപദേശങ്ങളെയും പിൻതുടർന്ന് ചിലർ വിശ്വാസത്തിൽനിന്ന് വ്യതിചലിക്കുമെന്നു ദൈവാത്മാവ് വ്യക്തമായി പറയുന്നു.
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
ഇത്തരം ഉപദേശങ്ങൾ അസത്യവാദികളുടെ കാപട്യത്തിൽനിന്നാണ് ഉത്ഭവിക്കുന്നത്. അവരുടെ മനസ്സാക്ഷി പൊള്ളിക്കപ്പെട്ടതുപോലെ വികാരശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
അവർ വിവാഹം നിരോധിക്കുകയും ചില സവിശേഷ ഭക്ഷണപദാർഥങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത് വിലക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇവ, സത്യം മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ വിശ്വാസികൾ സ്തോത്രത്തോടെ ആസ്വദിക്കാനായി ദൈവം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചവയാണ്.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
ദൈവം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചവയെല്ലാം ഉത്തമമാണ്; സ്തോത്രംചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് സ്വീകരിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ ഒന്നും വർജിക്കേണ്ടതില്ല.
5 For it is sanctified by the word (logos) of God and prayer.
കാരണം അത് ദൈവവചനത്താലും പ്രാർഥനയാലും വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നല്ലോ.
6 If you put the brethren in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words (logos) of faith and of good doctrine, unto which you have attained.
ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നീ സഹോദരങ്ങൾക്കു വ്യക്തമാക്കിയാൽ, വിശ്വാസവചസ്സുകളാലും നീ പിൻതുടർന്നുവന്ന ഉത്തമ ഉപദേശത്താലും പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട് ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെ ഒരു ഉത്തമശുശ്രൂഷകനായിത്തീരും.
7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself rather unto godliness.
ലൗകികവും സാങ്കൽപ്പികവുമായ കഥകൾ ഒഴിവാക്കുക; ദൈവഭക്തനാകാൻ നിന്നെത്തന്നെ പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കുക.
8 For bodily exercise profits little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
കായികാഭ്യാസം കുറച്ചുമാത്രം പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതാണ്; എന്നാൽ അതിലും മഹത്തരമാണ് ആത്മികാഭ്യസനം. കാരണം, ഐഹികജീവിതത്തിലും വരാനുള്ള ജീവിതത്തിലും അതുമൂലം പ്രയോജനങ്ങൾ വരുമെന്നുള്ള വാഗ്ദാനമുണ്ടല്ലോ.
9 This is a faithful saying (logos) and worthy of all acceptation.
ഇത് തികച്ചും സ്വീകാര്യവും വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യവുമായ വചനമാണ്.
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
ഈ ലക്ഷ്യപ്രാപ്തിക്കുവേണ്ടിയാണ് നാം പരിശ്രമിക്കുകയും പോരാടുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നത്. എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരുടെയും, വിശിഷ്യ വിശ്വാസികളുടെയും, രക്ഷിതാവായ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിൽ നാം പ്രത്യാശ അർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
11 These things command and teach.
ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ നീ കൽപ്പിക്കുകയും ഉപദേശിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക.
12 Let no man despise your youth; but be you an example of the believers, in word, (logos) in conversation, in love, (agape) in spirit, (pneuma) in faith, in purity.
നീ യുവാവാണ് എന്ന കാരണത്താൽ ആരും നിന്നെ അവഗണിക്കാൻ അവസരം നൽകാതെ, സംസാരത്തിലും പെരുമാറ്റത്തിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും നിർമലതയിലും വിശ്വാസികൾക്കു മാതൃകയായിത്തീരുക.
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
ഞാൻ വരുന്നതുവരെ പരസ്യമായ തിരുവചനപാരായണത്തിലും പ്രബോധനത്തിലും ഉപദേശത്തിലും ശ്രദ്ധചെലുത്തുക.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
സഭാമുഖ്യന്മാരുടെ കൈവെപ്പുവഴി പ്രവചനത്താൽ നിനക്കു സിദ്ധിച്ച കൃപാദാനങ്ങൾ അവഗണിക്കരുത്.
15 Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all.
ഇവയെല്ലാം പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കുക; ഇവയിൽ പൂർണമായി മുഴുകുക, അങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ പുരോഗതി എല്ലാവരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ പ്രകടമാകട്ടെ.
16 Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you.
നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചും നിന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും ജാഗ്രതയുള്ളവനായിരിക്കുക. അവയിൽ സുസ്ഥിരനുമായിരിക്കുക. ഇപ്രകാരം ചെയ്താൽ നീ നിന്നെയും നിന്റെ ശ്രോതാക്കളെയും രക്ഷിക്കും.
