1 Samuel 23
1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshing floors.
౧తరువాత ఫిలిష్తీయులు కెయీలా మీద యుద్ధం చేసి కళ్ళాల మీద ఉన్న ధాన్యం దోచుకొంటున్నారని దావీదుకు తెలిసింది.
2 Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and strike these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and strike the Philistines, and save Keilah.
౨అప్పుడు దావీదు “నేను వెళ్లి ఈ ఫిలిష్తీయులను చంపమంటావా” అని యెహోవా దగ్గర విచారణ చేస్తే, యెహోవా “నీవు వెళ్లి ఫిలిష్తీయులను చంపి కెయీలాను కాపాడు” అని దావీదుతో చెప్పాడు.
3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
౩దావీదుతో ఉన్నవారు “మేము ఇక్కడ యూదా దేశంలో ఉన్నప్పటికీ మాకు భయంగా ఉంది. కెయీలాలో ఫిలిష్తీయ సైన్యాలకు ఎదురుపడితే మాకు మరింత భయం గదా” అని దావీదుతో అన్నారు.
4 Then David enquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.
౪దావీదు మళ్ళీ యెహోవా దగ్గర విచారణ చేశాడు. “నువ్వు లేచి కెయీలాకు వెళ్లు, ఫిలిష్తీయులను నీ చేతికి అప్పగిస్తున్నాను” అని యెహోవా చెప్పాడు.
5 So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and stroke them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
౫దావీదు, అతని అనుచరులూ కెయీలాకు వచ్చి ఫిలిష్తీయులతో యుద్ధం చేసి వారిని పూర్తిగా చంపేసి వారి పశువుల మందలను దోచుకున్నారు. ఈ విధంగా దావీదు కెయీలా నివాసులను కాపాడాడు.
6 And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.
౬దావీదు కెయీలాకు బయలుదేరితే అహీమెలెకు కొడుకు అబ్యాతారు ఏఫోదు చేత పట్టుకుని పారిపోయి అతని దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు.
7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God has delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that has gates and bars.
౭దావీదు కెయీలాకు వచ్చిన సంగతి సౌలు విని “దావీదు తలుపులూ, అడ్డుగడలు ఉన్న పట్టణంలో ప్రవేశించి అందులో చిక్కుకుపోయి ఉన్నాడు. దేవుడు అతణ్ణి నా చేతికి అప్పగించాడు” అనుకున్నాడు.
8 And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.
౮అందుకే సౌలు కెయీలాకు వెళ్ళి దావీదునూ అతని అనుచరులనూ మట్టుబెట్టాలని తన సైన్యాన్ని యుద్ధానికి పిలిపించాడు.
9 And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring here the ephod.
౯సౌలు తనకు కీడు చేయడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాడని దావీదు గ్రహించి యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారును ఏఫోదు తీసుకురమ్మన్నాడు.
10 Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, your servant has certainly heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.
౧౦అప్పుడు దావీదు “ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవా, యెహోవా, సౌలు కెయీలాకు వచ్చి నన్ను బంధించి పట్టణాన్ని నాశనం చేయాలని చూస్తున్నాడని నీ దాసుడనైన నాకు కచ్చితంగా తెలిసింది.
11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? O LORD God of Israel, I plead to you, tell your servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
౧౧కెయీలా ప్రజలు నన్ను అతని చేతికి అప్పగిస్తారా? నీ దాసుడనైన నాకు తెలిసినట్టుగా సౌలు వస్తాడా? ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవా, యెహోవా, దయచేసి నీ దాసుడనైన నాకు దాన్ని తెలియజెయ్యి” అని ప్రార్థిస్తే “అతడు వస్తాడు” అని యెహోవా బదులిచ్చాడు.
12 Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver you up.
౧౨“కెయీలా ప్రజలు నన్నూ నా ప్రజలనూ సౌలు చేతికి అప్పగిస్తారా?” అని దావీదు తిరిగి అడిగితే, యెహోవా “వారు నిన్ను అప్పగించాలని ఉన్నారు” అన్నాడు.
13 Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went anywhere they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he ceased to go forth.
౧౩దావీదు, సుమారు 600 మంది అతని అనుచరులు లేచి కెయీలా నుండి వెళ్ళి అటూ ఇటూ తిరుగుతూ భద్రంగా ఉన్న స్థలాలకు చేరుకున్నారు. దావీదు కెయీలా నుండి తప్పించుకొన్న విషయం సౌలుకు తెలిసి వెళ్లకుండా మానుకున్నాడు.
14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.
౧౪దావీదు సురక్షితమైన కొండ ప్రాంతంలో జీఫు ఎడారిలో ఉంటున్నాడు. సౌలు ప్రతిరోజూ అతణ్ణి వెదుకుతున్నప్పటికీ దేవుడు సౌలు చేతికి అప్పగించలేదు.
15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.
౧౫తన ప్రాణం తీయాలని సౌలు బయలుదేరాడని తెలిసిన దావీదు హోరేషులో జీఫు అరణ్య ప్రాంతంలో దిగాడు.
16 And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.
౧౬అప్పుడు సౌలు కొడుకు యోనాతాను తోటలో ఉన్న దావీదు దగ్గరికి వచ్చి “నా తండ్రి సౌలు నిన్ను పట్టుకోలేడు, నువ్వేమీ భయపడకు.
17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto you; and that also Saul my father knows.
౧౭నువ్వు తప్పక ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు రాజు అవుతావు. నేను నీకు సహాయకునిగా ఉంటాను. ఈ విషయం నా తండ్రి సౌలుకు తెలిసిపోయింది” అని అతనితో చెప్పి దేవుని పేరట అతణ్ణి బలపరిచాడు.
18 And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.
౧౮వీరిద్దరూ యెహోవా సన్నిధానంలో ఒప్పందం చేసుకొన్న తరువాత దావీదు అక్కడే నిలిచిపోయాడు, హోరేషు, యోనాతాను వారి ఇంటికి వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
19 Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Does not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?
౧౯జీఫీయులు బయలుదేరి గిబియాలో ఉన్న సౌలు దగ్గరికి వచ్చి “యెషీమోనుకు దక్షిణ దిక్కులో ఉన్న హకీలా అడవిలోని కొండ స్థలాల్లో మా ప్రాంతంలో దావీదు దాక్కుని ఉన్నాడు.
20 Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of your soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king's hand.
౨౦రాజా, నీ కోరిక తీరేలా మాతో బయలుదేరు. రాజవైన నీ చేతికి అతణ్ణి అప్పగించడం మా పని” అని చెప్పారు.
21 And Saul said, Blessed be all of you of the LORD; for all of you have compassion on me.
౨౧సౌలు వారితో ఇలా అన్నాడు. “మీరు నాపై చూపిన అభిమానాన్ని బట్టి యెహోవా మిమ్మల్ని దీవిస్తాడు గాక.
22 Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who has seen him there: for it is told me that he deals very subtlely.
౨౨మీరు వెళ్ళి అతడు దాగిన స్థలం ఏదో, అతణ్ణి చూసినవాడు ఎవరో కచ్చితంగా తెలుసుకోండి. అతడు ఎంతో చాకచక్యంగా ప్రవర్తిస్తున్నాడని నాకు తెలిసింది కాబట్టి
23 See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hides himself, and come all of you again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.
౨౩మీరు ఎంతో జాగ్రత్తగా అతడు దాక్కొన్న ప్రాంతాలను కనిపెట్టిన సంగతి అంతా నాకు తెలియజేయడానికి మళ్ళీ నా దగ్గరికి తప్పకుండా రండి, అప్పుడు నేను మీతో కలసి వస్తాను. అతడు దేశంలో ఎక్కడ ఉన్నప్పటికీ యూదావారందరిలో నేను అతణ్ణి వెతికి పట్టుకొంటాను” అని చెప్పాడు.
24 And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.
౨౪వారు లేచి సౌలు కంటే ముందుగా జీఫుకు తిరిగి వెళ్లారు. దావీదు, అతని అనుచరులూ యెషీమోనుకు దక్షిణ వైపున ఉన్న మైదానంలోని మాయోను ఎడారి ప్రాంతంలో ఉన్నప్పుడు,
25 Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David; wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.
౨౫సౌలు, అతని బలగమూ తనను వెదికేందుకు బయలుదేరారన్న మాట దావీదు విని, కొండ పైభాగంలోని మాయోను ప్రాంతంలో నివాసం ఏర్పరచుకున్నాడు. ఆది విన్న సౌలు మాయోను ఎడారిలో దావీదును తరుమబోయాడు.
26 And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.
౨౬కొండకు ఒకవైపు సౌలు, మరోవైపు దావీదు, అతని అనుచరులు వెళ్తున్నపుడు దావీదు సౌలు నుండి తప్పించుకుపోవాలని తొందరపడుతున్నాడు. సౌలు, అతని సైనికులు దావీదును, అతని అనుచరులను పట్టుకోవాలని వారిని చుట్టుముడుతున్నారు.
27 But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste you, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.
౨౭ఇలా జరుగుతున్నప్పుడు గూఢచారి ఒకడు సౌలు దగ్గరికి వచ్చి “నువ్వు త్వరగా బయలుదేరు, ఫిలిష్తీయులు దండెత్తి వచ్చి దేశంలో చొరబడ్డారు” అని చెబితే
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Selahammahlekoth.
౨౮సౌలు దావీదును తరమడం మానుకుని ఫిలిష్తీయులను ఎదుర్కొనడానికి వెనక్కి తిరిగి వెళ్ళాడు. కాబట్టి ఆ స్థలానికి సెలహమ్మలెకోతు అని పేరు పెట్టబడింది.
29 And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at Engedi.
౨౯తరువాత దావీదు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్ళి ఏన్గెదీకి వచ్చి కొండ ప్రాంతలో నివాసం ఏర్పరచుకున్నాడు.
