1 Kings 1
1 Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he got no heat.
Quando o rei Davi era velho, e de idade avançada, cobriam-lhe de roupas, mas não se aquecia.
2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in your bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.
Disseram-lhe portanto seus servos: Busquem a meu senhor o rei uma moça virgem, para que esteja diante do rei, e o abrigue, e durma a seu lado, e aquecerá a meu senhor o rei.
3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
E buscaram uma moça formosa por todo o termo de Israel, e acharam a Abisague sunamita, e trouxeram-na ao rei.
4 And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king had sexual contact with her not.
E a moça era formosa, a qual aquecia ao rei, e lhe servia: mas o rei nunca a conheceu.
5 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
Então Adonias filho de Hagite se levantou, dizendo: Eu reinarei. E preparou carros e cavaleiros, e cinquenta homens que corressem adiante dele.
6 And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why have you done so? and he also was a very goodly man; and his mother bare him after Absalom.
E seu pai nunca o entristeceu em todos seus dias com dizer-lhe: Por que fazes assim? E também este era de bela aparência; e havia o gerado depois de Absalão.
7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him.
E tinha tratos com Joabe filho de Zeruia, e com Abiatar sacerdote, os quais ajudavam a Adonias.
8 But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.
Mas Zadoque sacerdote, e Benaia filho de Joiada, e Natã profeta, e Simei, e Reí, e todos os grandes de Davi, não seguiam a Adonias.
9 And Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by Enrogel, and called all his brethren the king's sons, and all the men of Judah the king's servants:
E matando Adonias ovelhas e vacas e animais engordados junto à penha de Zoelete, que está próxima da fonte de Rogel, convidou a todos seus irmãos os filhos do rei, e a todos os homens de Judá, servos do rei:
10 But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.
Mas não convidou a Natã profeta, nem a Benaia, nem aos grandes, nem a Salomão seu irmão.
11 Wherefore Nathan spoke unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith does reign, and David our lord knows it not?
E falou Natã a Bate-Seba mãe de Salomão, dizendo: Não ouviste que reina Adonias filho de Hagite, sem sabê-lo Davi nosso senhor?
12 Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you counsel, that you may save your own life, and the life of your son Solomon.
Vem pois agora, e toma meu conselho, para que guardes tua vida, e a vida de teu filho Salomão.
13 Go and get you in unto king David, and say unto him, Did not you, my lord, O king, swear unto your handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?
Vai, e entra ao rei Davi, e dize-lhe: Rei senhor meu, não juraste tu à tua serva, dizendo: Salomão teu filho reinará depois de mim, e ele se sentará em meu trono? por que pois reina Adonias?
14 Behold, while you yet talk there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.
E estando tu ainda falando com o rei, eu entrarei atrás de ti, e acabarei teus argumentos.
15 And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.
Então Bate-Seba entrou ao rei à câmara: e o rei era muito velho; e Abisague sunamita servia ao rei.
16 And Bathsheba bowed, and did reverence unto the king. And the king said, What would you?
E Bate-Seba se inclinou, e fez reverência ao rei. E o rei disse: Que tens?
17 And she said unto him, My lord, you sware by the LORD your God unto your handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.
E ela lhe respondeu: Senhor meu, tu juraste à tua serva pelo SENHOR teu Deus, dizendo: Salomão teu filho reinará depois de mim, e ele se sentará em meu trono;
18 And now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and now, my lord the king, you know it not:
E eis que agora Adonias reina: e tu, meu senhor rei, agora não o soubeste.
19 And he has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon your servant has he not called.
Matou bois, e animais engordados, e muitas ovelhas, e convidou a todos os filhos do rei, e a Abiatar sacerdote, e a Joabe general do exército; mas a Salomão teu servo não convidou.
20 And you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
Entretanto, rei senhor meu, os olhos de todo Israel estão sobre ti, para que lhes declares quem se há de sentar no trono de meu senhor o rei depois dele.
21 Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.
De outra sorte acontecerá, quando meu senhor o rei descansar com seus pais, que eu e meu filho Salomão seremos tidos por culpados.
22 And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.
E estando ainda falando ela com o rei, eis que Natã profeta, que veio.
23 And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
E deram aviso ao rei, dizendo: Eis que Natã profeta: o qual quando entrou ao rei, prostrou-se diante do rei inclinando seu rosto à terra.
24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
E disse Natã: Rei senhor meu, disseste tu: Adonias reinará depois de mim, e ele se sentará em meu trono?
25 For he is gone down this day, and has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.
Porque hoje desceu, e matou bois, e animais engordados, e muitas ovelhas, e convidou a todos os filhos do rei, e aos capitães do exército, e também a Abiatar sacerdote; e eis que, estão comendo e bebendo diante dele, e disseram: Viva o rei Adonias!
26 But me, even me your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, has he not called.
Mas nem a mim teu servo, nem a Zadoque sacerdote, nem a Benaia filho de Joiada, nem a Salomão teu servo, convidou.
27 Is this thing done by my lord the king, and you have not showed it unto your servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
É este negócio ordenado por meu senhor o rei, sem haver declarado a teu servo quem se havia de sentar no trono de meu senhor o rei depois dele?
28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.
Então o rei Davi respondeu, e disse: Chamai-me a Bate-Seba. E ela entrou à presença do rei, e pôs-se diante do rei.
29 And the king swore, and said, As the LORD lives, that has redeemed my soul out of all distress,
E o rei jurou, dizendo: Vive o SENHOR, que redimiu minha alma de toda angústia,
30 Even as I swore unto you by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my position; even so will I certainly do this day.
Que como eu te ei jurado pelo SENHOR Deus de Israel, dizendo: Teu filho Salomão reinará depois de mim, e ele se sentará em meu trono em lugar meu; que assim o farei hoje.
31 Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.
Então Bate-Seba se inclinou ao rei, seu rosto à terra, e fazendo reverência ao rei, disse: Viva meu senhor o rei Davi para sempre.
32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.
E o rei Davi disse: Chamai-me a Zadoque sacerdote, e a Natã profeta, e a Benaia filho de Joiada. E eles entraram à presença do rei.
33 The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:
E o rei lhes disse: Tomai convosco os servos de vosso senhor, e fazei subir a Salomão meu filho em minha mula, e levai-o a Giom:
34 And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow all of you with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.
E ali o ungirão Zadoque sacerdote e Natã profeta por rei sobre Israel; e tocareis trombeta, dizendo: Viva o rei Salomão!
35 Then all of you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my position: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
Depois ireis vós detrás dele, e virá e se sentará em meu trono, e ele reinará por mim; porque a ele ordenei para que seja príncipe sobre Israel e sobre Judá.
36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so too.
Então Benaia filho de Joiada respondeu ao rei, e disse: Amém. Assim o diga o SENHOR, Deus de meu senhor o rei.
37 As the LORD has been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.
Da maneira que o SENHOR foi com meu senhor o rei, assim seja com Salomão; e ele faça maior seu trono que o trono de meu senhor o rei Davi.
38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.
E desceu Zadoque sacerdote, e Natã profeta, e Benaia filho de Joiada, e os quereteus e os peleteus, e fizeram subir a Salomão na mula do rei Davi, e levaram-no a Giom.
39 And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.
E tomando Zadoque sacerdote o chifre do azeite do tabernáculo, ungiu a Salomão: e tocaram trombeta, e disse todo o povo: Viva o rei Salomão!
40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
Depois subiu todo o povo depois dele, e cantava a gente com flautas, e faziam grandes alegrias, que parecia que a terra se fendia com o barulho deles.
41 And Adonijah and all the guest that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?
E ouviu-o Adonias, e todos os convidados que com ele estavam, quando já haviam acabado de comer. E ouvindo Joabe o som da trombeta, disse: Por que se alvoroça a cidade com estrondo?
42 And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for you are a valiant man, and bring good tidings.
Estando ainda ele falando, eis que Jônatas, filho do sacerdote Abiatar, veio, ao qual Adonias disse: Entra, porque és homem digno, e trarás boas notícias.
43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David has made Solomon king.
E Jônatas respondeu, e disse a Adonias: Certamente nosso senhor, o rei Davi, constituiu rei a Salomão;
44 And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule:
E o rei enviou com ele o sacerdote Zadoque o profeta Natã, Benaia, filho de Joiada, e também os quereteus e os peleteus, os quais lhe fizeram subir na mula do rei;
45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that all of you have heard.
E o sacerdote Zadoque e o profeta Natã o ungiram em Giom como rei, e dali subiram alegres, e a cidade está cheia de alvoroço. Este é o barulho que ouvistes.
46 And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.
E também Salomão se assentou no trono do reino.
47 And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.
E ainda os servos do rei vieram a bendizer ao nosso senhor, o rei Davi, dizendo: Deus faça o nome de Salomão melhor que o teu nome, e faça o seu trono maior que o teu. E o rei se inclinou no leito.
48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which has given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
E também o rei falou assim: Bendito seja o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, que hoje deu quem se assente em meu trono, vendo-o meus olhos.
49 And all the guest that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.
Então se estremeceram, e levantaram-se todos os convidados que estavam com Adonias, e foi-se cada um por seu caminho.
50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
Mas Adonias, temendo da presença de Salomão, levantou-se e foi-se, e agarrou as pontas do altar.
51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon: for, lo, he has caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
E foi feito saber a Salomão, dizendo: Eis que que Adonias tem medo do rei Salomão: pois agarrou as pontas do altar, dizendo: Jure-me hoje o rei Salomão que não matará à espada a seu servo.
52 And Solomon said, If he will show himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
E Salomão disse: Se ele for virtuoso, nenhum de seus cabelos cairá em terra: mas se se achar mal nele, morrerá.
53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to your house.
E enviou o rei Salomão, e trouxeram-no do altar; e ele veio, e inclinou-se ao rei Salomão. E Salomão lhe disse: Vai-te à tua casa.
