1 Kings 1

1 Now king David was old and stricken in years; and they covered him with clothes, but he got no heat.

൧ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവ് വൃദ്ധനും പ്രായം ചെന്നവനുമായപ്പോള്‍ അവർ അവനെ കമ്പിളി പുതപ്പിച്ചിട്ടും കുളിർ മാറിയില്ല.

2 Wherefore his servants said unto him, Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin: and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in your bosom, that my lord the king may get heat.

൨ആകയാൽ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അവനോട് “യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനുവേണ്ടി കന്യകയായ ഒരു യുവതിയെ ഞങ്ങൾ അന്വേഷിക്കട്ടെ; അവൾ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കയും, അങ്ങയുടെ കുളിർ മാറേണ്ടതിന് തിരുമാർവ്വിൽ കിടക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

3 So they sought for a fair damsel throughout all the coasts of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.

൩അങ്ങനെ അവർ സൗന്ദര്യമുള്ള ഒരു യുവതിക്കുവേണ്ടി യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തെല്ലായിടവും അന്വേഷിച്ചു; ശൂനേംകാരത്തി അബീശഗിനെ കണ്ട്, രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

4 And the damsel was very fair, and cherished the king, and ministered to him: but the king had sexual contact with her not.

൪ആ യുവതി അതിസുന്ദരിയായിരുന്നു; അവൾ രാജാവിനെ പരിചരിക്കുകയും ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; എന്നാൽ രാജാവ് അവളെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല.

5 Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.

൫അനന്തരം ഹഗ്ഗീത്തിന്റെ മകൻ അദോനീയാവ് നിഗളിച്ച് “ഞാൻ രാജാവാകും” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് രഥങ്ങളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും, തനിക്ക് മുമ്പായി ഓടുവാൻ അമ്പത് അകമ്പടികളെയും ഒരുക്കി

6 And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why have you done so? and he also was a very goodly man; and his mother bare him after Absalom.

൬“നീ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തത് എന്ത്?” എന്ന് അവന്റെ അപ്പൻ ഒരിക്കലും അവനെ ശാസിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല; അവനും ബഹുസുന്ദരനായിരുന്നു. അവൻ ജനിച്ചത് അബ്ശാലോമിനു ശേഷം ആയിരുന്നു.

7 And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest: and they following Adonijah helped him.

൭അവൻ സെരൂയയുടെ മകൻ യോവാബിനോടും പുരോഹിതനായ അബ്യാഥാരിനോടും ആലോചിച്ചു; ഇവർ അദോനീയാവിനെ തുണക്കുകയും സഹായിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

8 But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men which belonged to David, were not with Adonijah.

൮എന്നാൽ പുരോഹിതനായ സാദോക്ക്, യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവ്, പ്രവാചകനായ നാഥാൻ, ശിമെയി, രേയി, ദാവീദിന്റെ വീരന്മാർ എന്നിവർ അദോനീയാവിന്റെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്നിരുന്നില്ല.

9 And Adonijah slew sheep and oxen and fat cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by Enrogel, and called all his brethren the king's sons, and all the men of Judah the king's servants:

൯അദോനീയാവ് ഏൻ-രോഗേലിന് സമീപത്ത്, സോഹേലെത്ത് എന്ന കല്ലിനരികെ ആടുമാടുകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും അറുത്തു; രാജകുമാരന്മാരായ തന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാരെയും രാജഭൃത്യന്മാരായ എല്ലാ യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു.

10 But Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he called not.

൧൦എങ്കിലും നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകനെയും ബെനായാവെയും വീരന്മാരെയും തന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ശലോമോനെയും അവൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചില്ല.

11 Wherefore Nathan spoke unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Have you not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith does reign, and David our lord knows it not?

൧൧അനന്തരം നാഥാൻ ശലോമോന്റെ അമ്മയായ ബത്ത്-ശേബയോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: ഹഗ്ഗീത്തിന്റെ മകനായ അദോനീയാവ് രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് നീ കേട്ടില്ലയോ? നമ്മുടെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ് ഈ വിവരം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടുമില്ല.

12 Now therefore come, let me, I pray you, give you counsel, that you may save your own life, and the life of your son Solomon.

൧൨ആകയാൽ വരിക; നിന്റെയും നിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോന്റെയും ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് ഒരു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞുതരാം.

13 Go and get you in unto king David, and say unto him, Did not you, my lord, O king, swear unto your handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?

൧൩നീ ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയേണം “യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, നിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോൻ എനിക്ക് ശേഷം രാജാവായി വാണ് എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും എന്ന് നീ അടിയനോട് സത്യം ചെയ്തില്ലയോ? പിന്നെ അദോനീയാവ് രാജാവായി വാഴുന്നത് എന്ത്” എന്ന് അവനോട് ചോദിക്ക.

14 Behold, while you yet talk there with the king, I also will come in after you, and confirm your words.

൧൪നീ അവിടെ രാജാവിനോട് സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾതന്നെ, ഞാനും നിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വന്ന് നിന്റെ വാക്ക് ഉറപ്പിച്ചുകൊള്ളാം.

15 And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.

൧൫അങ്ങനെ ബത്ത്-ശേബ പള്ളിയറയിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; രാജാവ് വയോധികനായിരുന്നു; ശൂനേംകാരത്തി അബീശഗ് രാജാവിന് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

16 And Bathsheba bowed, and did reverence unto the king. And the king said, What would you?

൧൬ബത്ത്-ശേബ കുനിഞ്ഞ് രാജാവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു “നിനക്ക് എന്ത് വേണം” എന്ന് രാജാവ് ചോദിച്ചു.

17 And she said unto him, My lord, you sware by the LORD your God unto your handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

൧൭അവൾ അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: എന്റെ യജമാനനേ, നിന്റെ മകൻ ശലോമോൻ എനിക്ക് ശേഷം രാജാവായി വാണ് എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും എന്ന് നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ഈ ദാസിയോട് സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

18 And now, behold, Adonijah reigns; and now, my lord the king, you know it not:

൧൮ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, അദോനീയാവ് രാജാവായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവ് ഈ കാര്യം അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

19 And he has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon your servant has he not called.

൧൯അവൻ അനവധി കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ആടുകളെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ചു; രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും പുരോഹിതനായ അബ്യാഥാരിനെയും സേനാധിപതി യോവാബിനെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ശലോമോനെ അവൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചില്ല.

20 And you, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon you, that you should tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

൨൦യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, അങ്ങയുടെ ശേഷം സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടത് ആരെന്ന് അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന് എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും കണ്ണ് നിന്നെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

21 Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

൨൧അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം, യജമാനനായ രാജാവ് തന്റെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ഈ ലോകം വിട്ടുപിരിയുംപോള്‍, ഞാനും എന്റെ മകൻ ശലോമോനും കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കും.

22 And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.

൨൨അവൾ രാജാവിനോട് സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾതന്നെ നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകൻ വന്നു

23 And they told the king, saying, Behold Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

൨൩‘നാഥാൻ പ്രവാചകൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്ന് അവർ രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചു; അവൻ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്ന് രാജാവിനെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

24 And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?

൨൪നാഥാൻ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: “യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, അദോനീയാവ് രാജാവായി വാണ് എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും” എന്ന് നീ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

25 For he is gone down this day, and has slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah.

൨൫അവൻ ഇന്ന് അനവധി കാളകളെയും തടിപ്പിച്ച മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ആടുകളെയും യാഗം കഴിച്ച്, രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും സേനാധിപതിമാരെയും പുരോഹിതനായ അബ്യാഥാരിനെയും ക്ഷണിച്ചു; അവർ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഭക്ഷിച്ച് പാനംചെയ്ത്: “അദോനീയാരാജാവേ, ജയജയ” എന്ന് ആർപ്പിടുന്നു.

26 But me, even me your servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and your servant Solomon, has he not called.

൨൬എന്നാൽ അടിയനെയും പുരോഹിതനായ സാദോക്കിനെയും യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവെയും നിന്റെ ദാസൻ ശലോമോനെയും അവൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചില്ല.

27 Is this thing done by my lord the king, and you have not showed it unto your servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?

൨൭യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ കാലശേഷം അങ്ങയുടെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടത് ആരെന്ന് അടിയങ്ങളെ അറിയിക്കാതിരിക്കയാൽ, ഈ കാര്യം യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പനയാലോ നടന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്?

28 Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.

൨൮“ബത്ത്-ശേബയെ വിളിപ്പിൻ” എന്ന് ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവ് കല്പിച്ചു. അവൾ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്ന് രാജാവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു.

29 And the king swore, and said, As the LORD lives, that has redeemed my soul out of all distress,

൨൯അപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് സത്യംചെയ്ത് പറഞ്ഞത്: “എന്റെ ജീവനെ സകലകഷ്ടത്തിൽ നിന്നും വീണ്ടെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയാണ,

30 Even as I swore unto you by the LORD God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my position; even so will I certainly do this day.

൩൦നിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോൻ എന്റെ കാലശേഷം വാണ് എനിക്ക് പകരം എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും എന്ന് ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ തന്നേ ഞാൻ ഇന്ന് നിവർത്തിക്കും”.

31 Then Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.

൩൧അപ്പോൾ ബത്ത്-ശേബ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണ് രാജാവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ച്: “എന്റെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവ് ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

32 And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.

൩൨പിന്നെ ദാവീദ്: “സാദോക് പുരോഹിതനെയും നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകനെയും യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവെയും വിളിപ്പിൻ” എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു. അവർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെന്നുനിന്നു.

33 The king also said unto them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon:

൩൩രാജാവ് അവരോട് കല്പിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ: “നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് എന്റെ മകൻ ശാലോമോനെ എന്റെ കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്ത് കയറ്റി താഴെ ഗീഹോനിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോകുവിൻ.

34 And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel: and blow all of you with the trumpet, and say, God save king Solomon.

൩൪അവിടെവെച്ച് സാദോക്പുരോഹിതനും നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകനും അവനെ യിസ്രായേലിന് രാജാവായിട്ട് അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്യേണം; പിന്നെ കാഹളം ഊതി: “ശലോമോൻരാജാവേ, ജയജയ” എന്ന് ഘോഷിച്ചുപറവിൻ.

35 Then all of you shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my position: and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.

൩൫അതിന്‍റെശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിൻ; അവൻ വന്ന് എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരുന്ന് എനിക്ക് പകരം വാഴേണം; യിസ്രായേലിനും യെഹൂദെക്കും രാജാവായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ അവനെ നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”.

36 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, Amen: the LORD God of my lord the king say so too.

൩൬അപ്പോൾ യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവ് രാജാവിനോട്: “ആമേൻ! യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ കല്പിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.

37 As the LORD has been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.

൩൭യഹോവ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ ശലോമോനോടുംകൂടെ ഇരിക്കയും യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെക്കാളും അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

38 So Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.

൩൮അങ്ങനെ സാദോക്പുരോഹിതനും നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകനും യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവും ക്രേത്യരും പ്ലേത്യരും ചെന്ന് ദാവീദ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്ത് ശലോമോനെ കയറ്റി ഗീഹോനിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി,

39 And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon.

൩൯സാദോക്പുരോഹിതൻ സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തൈലക്കൊമ്പ് കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന് ശലോമോനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു. അവർ കാഹളം ഊതി, ജനമൊക്കെയും “ശലോമോൻരാജാവേ, ജയജയ” എന്ന് ഘോഷിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.

40 And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.

൪൦പിന്നെ ജനമൊക്കയും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്ന് കുഴലൂതി; അവർ അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിച്ചു; ഭൂമി പിളരുന്നു എന്ന് തോന്നുമാറ് അവർ അത്യന്തം ഘോഷിച്ചു.

41 And Adonijah and all the guest that were with him heard it as they had made an end of eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he said, Wherefore is this noise of the city being in an uproar?

൪൧അദോനീയാവും കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകല വിരുന്നുകാരും ഭക്ഷണം കഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അത് കേട്ടു. കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ യോവാബ്: “പട്ടണം ഇളക്കുന്ന ഈ ആരവം എന്ത്” എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചു.

42 And while he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said unto him, Come in; for you are a valiant man, and bring good tidings.

൪൨അവൻ സംസാരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ അബ്യാഥാർ പുരോഹിതന്റെ മകൻ യോനാഥാൻ വന്നെത്തി; അദോനീയാവ് അവനോട് “യോഗ്യനായ പുരുഷാ അകത്തുവരിക; നല്ല വർത്തമാനം കൊണ്ടുവന്നാലും” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

43 And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Verily our lord king David has made Solomon king.

൪൩യോനാഥാൻ അദോനീയാവോട് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്” നമ്മുടെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവ് ശലോമോനെ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

44 And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule:

൪൪രാജാവ് സാദോക് പുരോഹിതനെയും നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകനെയും യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകൻ ബെനായാവെയും ക്രേത്യരെയും പ്ലേത്യരെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചു. അവർ അവനെ രാജാവിന്റെ കോവർകഴുതപ്പുറത്ത് കയറ്റി.

45 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon: and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that all of you have heard.

൪൫സാദോക്പുരോഹിതനും നാഥാൻപ്രവാചകനും അവനെ ഗീഹോനിൽവെച്ച് രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ പട്ടണം മുഴങ്ങുമാറ് സന്തോഷിച്ച് അവിടെനിന്ന് മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി. ഇതാകുന്നു നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ട ഘോഷം.

46 And also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom.

൪൬അത്രയുമല്ല, ശലോമോൻ രാജസിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു;

47 And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and make his throne greater than your throne. And the king bowed himself upon the bed.

൪൭കൂടാതെ രാജഭൃത്യന്മാരും നമ്മുടെ യജമാനനായ ദാവീദ്‌ രാജാവിനെ അഭിവന്ദനം ചെയ്‌വാൻ ചെന്നു; “നിന്റെ ദൈവം ശലോമോന്റെ നാമത്തെ നിന്റെ നാമത്തെക്കാൾ ഉൽകൃഷ്ടവും അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെ നിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ആക്കട്ടെ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

48 And also thus said the king, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which has given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.

൪൮രാജാവ് തന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ നമസ്കരിച്ച്: “ഇന്ന് എന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ എന്റെ സന്തതി ഇരിക്കുന്നത് എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ട് കാണ്മാൻ സംഗതി വരുത്തിയ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

49 And all the guest that were with Adonijah were afraid, and rose up, and went every man his way.

൪൯ഉടനെ അദോനീയാവിന്റെ വിരുന്നുകാർ ഒക്കെയും ഭയപ്പെട്ട് എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ വഴിക്ക് പോയി.

50 And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

൫൦അദോനീയാവും ശലോമോനെ ഭയപ്പെട്ട് ചെന്ന് യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പിടിച്ചു.

51 And it was told Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon: for, lo, he has caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear unto me today that he will not slay his servant with the sword.

൫൧“അദോനീയാവ് ശലോമോൻരാജാവിനെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കയാൽ ശലോമോൻ രാജാവ് അടിയനെ വാൾകൊണ്ട് കൊല്ലുകയില്ല എന്ന് ഇന്ന് എന്നോട് സത്യം ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് അവൻ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് ശലോമോൻ കേട്ടു.

52 And Solomon said, If he will show himself a worthy man, there shall not an hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.

൫൨അവൻ യോഗ്യനായിരുന്നാൽ അവന്റെ തലയിലെ ഒരു രോമംപോലും നിലത്ത് വീഴുകയില്ല; അവനിൽ കുറ്റം കണ്ടാലോ അവൻ മരിക്കേണം എന്ന് ശലോമോൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

53 So king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to your house.

൫൩അങ്ങനെ ശലോമോൻ രാജാവ് ആളയച്ച് അവനെ യാഗപീഠത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഇറക്കി കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവൻ വന്ന് ശലോമോൻരാജാവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു. ശലോമോൻ അവനോട്: നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പൊയ്ക്കൊൾക എന്ന് കല്പിച്ചു.
