1 John 3
1 Behold, what manner of love (agape) the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not.
നോക്കൂ, പിതാവു നമുക്ക് എത്രയോ അതിരില്ലാത്ത സ്നേഹം പകർന്നാണ് നമ്മെ ദൈവമക്കളെന്നു വിളിച്ചത്! നാം വാസ്തവത്തിൽ അങ്ങനെതന്നെ ആണ്! ലോകം അവിടത്തെ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് അത് നമ്മെയും അറിയുന്നില്ല.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
പ്രിയരേ, ഇപ്പോൾ നാം ദൈവത്തിന്റെമക്കൾ ആകുന്നു. നാം എന്തായിത്തീരുമെന്ന് ഇതുവരെ വ്യക്തമാക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടില്ല. എന്നാൽ, ക്രിസ്തു പ്രത്യക്ഷനാകുമ്പോൾ നാം അവിടത്തെപ്പോലെയാകും. അവിടന്ന് ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നാം അവിടത്തെ കാണും.
3 And every man that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
തന്നിൽ ഈ പ്രത്യാശയുള്ളവരെല്ലാം അവിടന്നു വിശുദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, സ്വയം വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.
4 Whosoever commits sin trangresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
പാപംചെയ്യുന്ന ഏതൊരുവനും ദൈവികപ്രമാണം ലംഘിക്കുന്നു; പാപം പ്രമാണരാഹിത്യംതന്നെ.
5 And all of you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
പാപങ്ങളെ നീക്കംചെയ്യാൻ അവിടന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു. തന്നിലാകട്ടെ പാപം ഒന്നുമില്ല.
6 Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.
തന്നിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവരാരും പാപത്തിൽ തുടരുകയില്ല. പാപത്തിൽ തുടരുന്നവരാരും അവിടത്തെ അറിയുകയോ മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
കുഞ്ഞുമക്കളേ, ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വഞ്ചിക്കരുത്. ക്രിസ്തു നീതിമാൻ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നീതി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ ആകുന്നു.
8 He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
പാപംചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവർ പിശാചിൽനിന്നുള്ളവരാകുന്നു. പിശാച് ആരംഭംമുതലേ പാപംചെയ്യുന്നവനാണ്. പിശാചിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളെ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യാനാണ് ദൈവപുത്രൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായത്.
9 Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചവരാരും പാപം ശീലമാക്കുന്നില്ല; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിത്ത് അവരിൽ വസിക്കുന്നല്ലോ. അവർ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാൽ പാപത്തിൽ തുടരുക അവർക്ക് അസാധ്യമാണ്.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.
ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മക്കളെയും പിശാചിന്റെ മക്കളെയും ഇങ്ങനെ തിരിച്ചറിയാം; നീതി പ്രവർത്തിക്കാത്തവർ ആരും ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഉള്ളവരല്ല. സഹോദരങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കാത്തവരും അങ്ങനെതന്നെ.
11 For this is the message that all of you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
പരസ്പരം സ്നേഹിക്കണം എന്ന സന്ദേശം ആണല്ലോ ആരംഭംമുതലേ നാം കേട്ടുവന്നത്.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
സ്വസഹോദരനെ വധിച്ച പൈശാചികൻ കയീനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ ആകരുത്; അയാൾ സഹോദരനെ വധിച്ചത് എന്തിന്? അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി, ദോഷം നിറഞ്ഞതും സഹോദരന്റേത് നീതിയുക്തവും ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ്.
13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, ലോകം നിങ്ങളെ വെറുക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടരുത്.
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loves not his brother abides in death.
സഹോദരങ്ങളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ നാം മരണത്തിൽനിന്ന് ജീവനിലേക്കു കടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് നമുക്കറിയാം. എന്നാൽ, സ്നേഹിക്കാത്തവൻ മരണത്തിൽത്തന്നെ തുടരുന്നു.
15 Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and all of you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. (aiōnios g166)
സഹോദരങ്ങളെ വെറുക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരു വ്യക്തിയും കൊലപാതകിയാണ്. കൊലപാതകിയിൽ നിത്യജീവൻ കുടികൊള്ളുകയില്ലെന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമല്ലോ. (aiōnios g166)
16 Hereby perceive we the love (agape) of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
ക്രിസ്തു നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി സ്വജീവൻ അർപ്പിച്ചതിനാൽ സ്നേഹം എന്തെന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു; നാമും അതുപോലെ സഹോദരങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ജീവൻ അർപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
17 But whoso has this world's good, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells the love (agape) of God in him?
ഒരാൾക്കു ഭൗതികസമ്പത്ത് ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയും തന്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങളെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുള്ളവരായി കണ്ടിട്ട് അവരോടു സഹതാപം തോന്നാതിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ അയാളിൽ ദൈവസ്നേഹം വസിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് എങ്ങനെ അവകാശപ്പെടാൻ കഴിയും?
18 My little children, let us not love in word, (logos) neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
കുഞ്ഞുമക്കളേ, നാം പരസ്പരം സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് വൃഥാ വാചാലരാകാതെ, സ്നേഹം വാസ്തവത്തിൽ പ്രവൃത്തിപഥത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതാണ്.
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
ഇങ്ങനെ നാം സത്യത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ളവരെന്ന് അറിയുകയും തിരുസന്നിധിയിൽ ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തോടെ നിൽക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെയും നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെക്കാൾ വലിയവനാണ് ദൈവം എന്നും അവിടന്നു സർവജ്ഞാനിയാണ് എന്നും ഓർക്കുക.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
പ്രിയരേ, നമ്മുടെ ഹൃദയം നമ്മെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തോടെ നമുക്കു ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ ചെല്ലാം.
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
അവിടത്തെ കൽപ്പനകൾ നാം പാലിക്കുകയും അവിടത്തേക്ക് പ്രസാദകരമായതു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നാം അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതെന്തും ദൈവം നമുക്കു നൽകുന്നു.
23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
ദൈവപുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ നാം വിശ്വസിക്കണം എന്നും അവിടന്നു നമ്മോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ പരസ്പരം സ്നേഹിക്കണം എന്നും ആകുന്നു അവിടത്തെ കൽപ്പന.
24 And he that keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit (pneuma) which he has given us.
ദൈവകൽപ്പനകൾ പാലിക്കുന്നവർ ദൈവത്തിലും ദൈവം അവരിലും വസിക്കുന്നു. ദൈവം നമുക്കു നൽകിയ ആത്മാവിനാൽ അവിടന്നു നമ്മിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു.
