Zephaniah 3
1 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
ধিক্ সেই অত্যাচারী, বিদ্রোহী এবং অপবিত্র নগর!
2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in Yhwh; she drew not near to her God.
সে কারোর আদেশ মানে না, কোনও অনুশাসনও গ্রহণ করে না। সে সদাপ্রভুতে আস্থা রাখে না, সে তার ঈশ্বরের কাছে যায় না।
3 Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.
তার মধ্যবর্তী রাজকর্মচারীরা যেন গর্জনকারী সিংহ; তার শাসকেরা সন্ধ্যাবেলার নেকড়ে, তারা সকালের জন্য কিছুই ফেলে রাখে না।
4 Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
তাদের ভাববাদীরা অনাচারী; তারা বিশ্বাসঘাতক। তাদের পুরোহিতরা পবিত্র বস্তুকে অপবিত্র করে এবং ব্যবস্থার বিরুদ্ধে কাজ করে।
5 The just Yhwh is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame.
তার মাঝে সদাপ্রভু ন্যায়পরায়ণ; তিনি কোনও অন্যায় করেন না। সকালের পর সকাল তিনি ন্যায়বিচার করেন, আর প্রত্যেক নতুন দিনে তিনি ভুল করেন না, তবুও সেই অন্যায়কারীদের কোনও লজ্জা নেই।
6 I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant.
“আমি জাতিদের শেষ করেছি; তাদের বলিষ্ঠ দুর্গগুলি ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে। আমি তাদের নগরের রাস্তাগুলি নির্জন করে দিয়েছি, সেখান থেকে আর কেউই যাতায়াত করে না। তাদের নগরসকল ধ্বংস হয়ে গেছে; সেগুলি খালি এবং নির্জন।
7 I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings.
জেরুশালেমের বিষয় আমি চিন্তা করলাম, ‘তুমি নিশ্চয় আমায় ভয় করবে এবং অনুশাসন গ্রাহ্য করবে!’ তাতে তার আশ্রয়স্থান ধ্বংস হবে না, কিংবা আমার সকল শাস্তিও তার উপর আসবে না। কিন্তু তাদের তখনও আগ্রহ ছিল দুষ্কর্ম করার জন্য যেমন তারা আগে করত।
8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith Yhwh, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
সুতরাং আমার জন্য অপেক্ষা করো,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “যেদিন আমি সাক্ষ্য দেওয়ার জন্য উঠে দাঁড়াবো। আমি জাতিদের একত্র করার জন্য মনস্থির করেছি, আর রাজ্যগুলিকে একত্রিত করব এবং আমার ক্রোধ তাদের উপর ঢেলে দেব— আমার সকল প্রচণ্ড ক্রোধ। সমগ্র পৃথিবী ভস্ম হবে আমার ঈর্ষান্বিত ক্রোধের আগুনে।
9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of Yhwh, to serve him with one consent.
“তখন আমি লোকেদের ওষ্ঠ শুচি করব, যাতে তারা সদাপ্রভুর নাম স্মরণ করে এবং কাঁধে কাঁধ মিলিয়ে তাঁর সেবা করে।
10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering.
কূশ দেশের নদীর ওপার থেকে আমার উপাসনাকারী আমার ছড়িয়ে যাওয়া লোকেরা, আমার জন্য উৎসর্গের বস্তু নিয়ে আসবে।
11 In that day shalt thou not be ashamed for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me: for then I will take away out of the midst of thee them that rejoice in thy pride, and thou shalt no more be haughty because of my holy mountain.
হে জেরুশালেম আমার প্রতি তুমি যা ভুল করেছিলে তার জন্য তুমি সেদিন লজ্জিত হবে না, কারণ তোমাদের মধ্যে থেকে অহংকারী ও গর্বিত লোকেদের বের করে দেব। আমার পবিত্র পাহাড়ে তারা আর কখন আমার বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করবে না।
12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of Yhwh.
কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে ছেড়ে দেব দীন ও নম্রদের। অবশিষ্টাংশ ইস্রায়েলীরা সদাপ্রভুর নামে আস্থা রাখবে।
13 The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
তারা কোনো দুষ্কর্ম করবে না; তারা মিথ্যা কথা বলবে না, ছলনার জিহ্বা তাদের মুখে আর পাওয়া না। তারা খাবে আর ঘুমাবে আর কেউই তাদের ভয় দেখাবে না।”
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel; be glad and rejoice with all the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.
হে সিয়োন-কন্যা, গান করো; হে ইস্রায়েল, জয়ধ্বনি করো! হে জেরুশালেম-কন্যা, তুমি খুশি হও ও অন্তর দিয়ে আনন্দ করো!
15 Yhwh hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even Yhwh, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.
সদাপ্রভু তোমার শাস্তি দূর করে দিয়েছেন, তোমার শত্রুদের তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন। সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের রাজা, তোমার সঙ্গে আছেন; তুমি আর কখনও অমঙ্গলের ভয় করবে না।
16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.
সেইদিন তারা জেরুশালেমকে বলবে, “হে সিয়োন, ভয় করো না; তোমার হাত পঙ্গু হতে দিয়ো না।
17 Yhwh thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
তোমার ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভু তোমার সঙ্গে আছেন, সেই মহাযোদ্ধা যিনি তোমাকে বাঁচান। তিনি তোমাকে নিয়ে খুবই আনন্দিত হবেন; তাঁর ভালোবাসায় তিনি তোমাকে আর তিরস্কার করবেন না, কিন্তু গান দ্বারা তোমার বিষয়ে উল্লাস করবেন।”
18 I will gather them that are sorrowful for the solemn assembly, who are of thee, to whom the reproach of it was a burden.
“তোমার নির্দিষ্ট উৎসব পালন না করতে পারার জন্য যারা শোক করে তা আমি তোমার থেকে দূর করে দেব, যা তোমার কাছে বোঝা এবং নিন্দা।
19 Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.
যারা তোমাদের উপর নিপীড়িন করেছে সেই সময় আমি তাদের শাস্তি দেব। আমি খোঁড়াদের উদ্ধার করব; আমি নির্বাসিতদের একত্রিত করব। প্রত্যেক দেশে যেখানে তারা লজ্জা সহ্য করেছে আমি তাদের প্রশংসা ও সম্মান দান করব।
20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith Yhwh.
সেই সময় আমি তোমাদের একত্রিত করব; সেই সময় আমি তোমাদের ফিরিয়ে আনব। পৃথিবীর সমগ্র জাতিদের মধ্যে আমি তোমাদের সম্মান ও প্রশংসা দান করব তোমাদের চোখের সামনেই আমি তোমাদের অবস্থা পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠা করব,” সদাপ্রভু বলেন।
