Psalms 91

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

۱ آنکه در ستر حضرت اعلی نشسته است، زیر سایه قادرمطلق ساکن خواهد بود.

2 I will say of Yhwh, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

۲ درباره خداوند می‌گویم که او ملجاو قلعه من است و خدای من که بر او توکل دارم.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

۳ زیرا که او تو را از دام صیاد خواهد رهانید و ازوبای خبیث.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

۴ به پرهای خود تو را خواهدپوشانید و زیر بالهایش پناه خواهی گرفت. راستی او تو را مجن و سپر خواهد بود.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

۵ از خوفی درشب نخواهی ترسید و نه از تیری که در روزمی پرد.

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

۶ و نه از وبایی که در تاریکی می‌خرامد ونه از طاعونی که وقت ظهر فساد می‌کند.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

۷ هزارنفر به‌جانب تو خواهند افتاد و ده هزار به‌دست راست تو. لیکن نزد تو نخواهد رسید.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

۸ فقط به چشمان خود خواهی نگریست و پاداش شریران را خواهی دید.

9 Because thou hast made Yhwh, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

۹ زیرا گفتی تو‌ای خداوندملجای من هستی و حضرت اعلی را ماوای خویش گردانیده‌ای.

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

۱۰ هیچ بدی بر تو واقع نخواهد شد و بلایی نزد خیمه تو نخواهد رسید.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

۱۱ زیرا که فرشتگان خود را درباره تو امر خواهدفرمود تا در تمامی راههایت تو را حفظ نمایند.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

۱۲ تو را بر دستهای خود برخواهند داشت، مباداپای خود را به سنگ بزنی.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

۱۳ بر شیر و افعی پای خواهی نهاد؛ شیربچه و اژدها را پایمال خواهی کرد.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

۱۴ «چونکه به من رغبت دارد او را خواهم رهانید و چونکه به اسم من عارف است او راسرافراز خواهم ساخت.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

۱۵ چون مرا خواند او رااجابت خواهم کرد. من در تنگی با او خواهم بود واو را نجات داده، معزز خواهم ساخت.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

۱۶ به طول ایام او را سیر می‌گردانم و نجات خویش را بدونشان خواهم داد.»
