Psalms 29

1 Give unto Yhwh, O ye mighty, give unto Yhwh glory and strength.

Žalm Davidův. Vzdejte Hospodinu, velikomocní, vzdejte Hospodinu čest a sílu.

2 Give unto Yhwh the glory due unto his name; worship Yhwh in the beauty of holiness.

Vzdejte Hospodinu slávu jména jeho, sklánějte se Hospodinu v ozdobě svatosti.

3 The voice of Yhwh is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: Yhwh is upon many waters.

Hlas Hospodinův nad vodami, Bůh silný slávy hřímání vzbuzuje, Hospodin to činí nad vodami mnohými.

4 The voice of Yhwh is powerful; the voice of Yhwh is full of majesty.

Hlas Hospodinův přichází s mocí, hlas Hospodinův s velebností.

5 The voice of Yhwh breaketh the cedars; yea, Yhwh breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

Hlas Hospodinův láme cedry, rozrážíť Hospodin cedry Libánské.

6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

A činí, aby skákali jako telata, Libán a Sirion, jako mladý jednorožec.

7 The voice of Yhwh divideth the flames of fire.

Hlas Hospodinův rozkřesává plamen ohně.

8 The voice of Yhwh shaketh the wilderness; Yhwh shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

Hlas Hospodinův k bolesti přivodí poušť, k bolesti přivodí Hospodin poušť Kádes.

9 The voice of Yhwh maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

Hlas Hospodinův to činí, že laně plodu pozbývají, obnažuje i lesy, ale v chrámě svém všecku svou slávu vypravuje.

10 Yhwh sitteth upon the flood; yea, Yhwh sitteth King for ever.

Hospodin nad potopou seděl, a budeť seděti Hospodin, jsa králem i na věky.

11 Yhwh will give strength unto his people; Yhwh will bless his people with peace.

Hospodin silou lid svůj daří, Hospodin požehná lidu svému v pokoji.
