Psalms 28
1 Unto thee will I cry, O Yhwh my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
Yahwe, ninalia; mwamba wangu, usinipuuze. Ikiwa haunijibu, nitaungana na wale waendao chini kaburini.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
Sikia kilio cha kusihi kwangu pale niitapo msaada kutoka kwako, niinuapo mikono yangu mbele ya mahali patakatifu zaidi!
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
Usiniburute pamoja na waovu, wale wafanyao uovu, waongeao amani na majirani zao lakini mioyoni mwao mna uovu.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
Uwape kulingana na sitahili ya matendo yao na uwalipe kulingana na madai ya maovu yao, uwalipe kwa ajili ya kazi ya mikono yao na uwape kile wanachostahili.
5 Because they regard not the works of Yhwh, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
Kwa sababu hawayaelewi matendo ya Yahwe wala kazi ya mikono yake, atawakanyaga kanyaga chini na hata wajenga tena wao.
6 Blessed be Yhwh, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
Abarikiwe Yahwe kwa sababu yeye amesikia sauti ya kusihi kwangu!
7 Yhwh is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
Yahwe ni nguvu yangu na ngao yangu; moyo wangu wa humwamini yeye, na ninasaidiwa. Kwa hiyo moyo wangu hufurahia sana, nami nitamsifu yeye kwa kuimba.
8 Yhwh is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
Yahwe ni nguvu ya watu wake, naye ni mkombozi salama wa wapakwa mafuta wake.
9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
Uwaokoe watu wako na uwabariki warithi wako. Uwe mchungaji wao na uwabebe milele.
