Psalms 147
1 Praise Yah: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
Dumisani uThixo. Kuhle kangakanani ukuhlabela indumiso kuNkulunkulu wethu, kumnandi njalo kufanele ukumbonga!
2 Yhwh doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
UThixo uyalakha iJerusalema; aqoqe labo abahlakazekileyo baka-Israyeli.
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Uyabathoba abadabukileyo enhliziyweni abophe amanxeba abo.
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Umisile ubunengi bezinkanyezi aziqambe leyo laleyo ngamabizo.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
INkosi yethu inkulu, njalo makhulu amandla ayo; ukuzwisisa kwayo kakulamkhawulo.
6 Yhwh lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
UThixo uyabasekela abathobekileyo kodwa abaphosele phansi ababi.
7 Sing unto Yhwh with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Hlabelani kuThixo ngokubonga; litshaye amachacho kuNkulunkulu wethu.
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
Uyembesa umkhathi ngamayezi; awuphe umhlaba izulu njalo akhulise utshani ezintabeni.
9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
Unika inkomo utshani aphe lamatsiyane amawabayi nxa esekhala.
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
Ukuthokoza kwakhe kakukho emandleni ebhiza, loba injabulo yakhe ekuqineni kwemilenze yomuntu;
11 Yhwh taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
UThixo uthokoza ngalabo abamesabayo, ababeka ithemba labo ethandweni lwakhe olungaphuthiyo.
12 Praise Yhwh, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
Umbabaze uThixo, Oh Jerusalema; dumisa uNkulunkulu wakho, Oh Ziyoni.
13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
Ngoba uyaqinisa imigoqo yamasango akho, abusise labantu bakho ngaphakathi kwakho.
14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
Wenza ukuthula emikhawulweni yelizwe lakho. Njalo ukusuthisa ngamabele amahle kakhulu.
15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
Uthumela umlayo wakhe emhlabeni; ilizwi lakhe ligijima masinyane.
16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
Wendlala ungqwaqwane njengoboya bezimvu ahaze iliqhwa njengomlotha.
17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
Uphosela phansi isiqhotho sakhe njengamatshe. Ngubani ongamelana lomfutho wakhe olomqando na?
18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
Uthumela ilizwi lakhe konke kuncibilike; aphephethise umoya wakhe amanzi ageleze.
19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
Ulivezile ilizwi lakhe kuJakhobe, imithetho yakhe lezahlulelo ku-Israyeli.
20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Hallelu jah.
Lokhu kazange akwenzele esinye isizwe; kaziyazi imithetho yakhe. Dumisani uThixo.
