Psalms 115
1 Not unto us, O Yhwh, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.
Ne nékünk, Örökkévaló, ne nékünk, hanem nevednek adj dicsőséget szeretetedért, igazságodért!
2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?
Miért mondják a nemzetek: hol van hát az ő istenük?
3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
Holott Istenünk az égben van; mindent, a mit akar, megtesz.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
Bálványaik ezüst és arany, ember kezeinek műve.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
Szájuk van, de nem beszélnek, szemeik vannak, de nem látnak;
6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
füleik vannak, de nem hallanak, orruk van, de nem szagolnak;
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
kezeik, de nem tapintanak, lábaik, de nem járnak, nem lehelnek torkukkal.
8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
A milyenek ők, legyenek a készítőik, mindenki, ki bennök bízik.
9 O Israel, trust thou in Yhwh: he is their help and their shield.
Izraél, te bízzál az Örökkévalóban! Segítségük és paízsuk ő.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in Yhwh: he is their help and their shield.
Áron háza, bizzatok az Örökkévalóban! Segítségük és paizsuk ő.
11 Ye that fear Yhwh, trust in Yhwh: he is their help and their shield.
Istenfélők, bízzatok az Örökkévalóban! Segítségük és paizsuk ő.
12 Yhwh hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.
Az Örökkévaló megemlékezett rólunk, megáldja, megáldja Izraél házát, megáldja Áron házát,
13 He will bless them that fear Yhwh, both small and great.
megáldja az istenfélőket, a kicsinyeket a nagyokkal együtt.
14 Yhwh shall increase you more and more, you and your children.
Gyarapítson titeket az Örökkévaló, titeket és gyermekeiteket!
15 Ye are blessed of Yhwh which made heaven and earth.
Áldva legyetek az Örökkévalótól, ki égnek és földnek alkotója.
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are Yhwh's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Az ég az Örökkévalónak ege, de a földet az ember fiainak adta.
17 The dead praise not Yah, neither any that go down into silence.
Nem a halottak dicsérik Jáht s nem mind, a kik sír csendjébe szállnak.
18 But we will bless Yah from this time forth and for evermore. Hallelu jah.
