< Nahum 3 >

1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;
Hankàñe amy rova mpampiori-dioy, lifotse vande naho vara kinopake, le lia’e tsy modo o tsindroheñeo.
2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.
Inay ty karavantsy! Inao ty fikatrakatrà’ o laròn-tsareteo; heheke ty fitsapiotsapio’ o soavalao, naho o sarete mitrakotrakoo.
3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
Mañoridañe o mpiningitse soavalao, mimilomilotse i fibaray; mipelapelatse i lefoñey; zinamañe i lahialeñey, tsifotofoto o votrin-doloo, o fañova mifitakeo; ie mitsikapy amo fateo;
4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
ty ami’ty hamaro’ o hakarapiloa’ i tsimirira kenakenakeio, i hekohekom-pamorekey, i mandetake fifeheañe amo hakalalijaha’eoy, naho hasavereñañe amo famoreha’eo.
5 Behold, I am against thee, saith Yhwh of Armies; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
Inao! miatreatre azo iraho, hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy, le hatsingako an-doha’o eo o siki’oo, naho haboako amo kilakila’ondatio ty fihalo’o vaho amo fifeheañeo ty heña’o.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.
Hafetsako ama’o ty raha mampangorý, hanivà’e azo, ie hanoeko fisambàñe.
7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
Ie amy zao, hene handripak’ ama’o ze maharendrek’ azo, hanao ty hoe: Fa mangoakoake ty Ninevè; ia’ ty handala aze? aia ty hahatreavako mpañohò ho azo.
8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
Soa te amy No-amone v’iheo, Ie nitoetse añivon-tsaka eoy, naho niarikatohen-drano, i riakey ty nañaro aze, naho i ranoy ty ni-kijoli’e?
9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
I Kose naho i Mitsraime ty nanolo-kaozarañ’ ama’e tsy nete ritse; nimpañolots’aze t’i Pote naho i Lobý.
10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
F’ie nasese mb’eo, nisese mb’am-pandrohizañe añe, fonga naretsak’ an-doha’ o lalan-drovao ey o anak’ ajaja’eo; nanoe’ iereo tsato-piso o roandria’eo, vaho rinohy an-tsilisily iaby o ana-dona’eo.
11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
Toe ho jike ka irehe, vaho hiàmpitse; ie hipay fitsolohañe ty amy rafelahiy.
12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
Manahake o rotseo ze hene golobo’o mifahetse, ie ezeñezeñeñe ro mihintsañe mb’am-paliem-pikama ao.
13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
Oniño te hambañe aman’ampela ondaty añivo’oo; midañadaña ho a o rafelahio o lalambein-tane’oo; hampangotomomohe’ ty afo o sikada’eo.
14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.
Mitariha rano ho amy fiarikoboñañey, haozaro o kijolio; mionjona amo lietseo, lialiao i pakotsey, vontitiro i mòlim-birìkey;
15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
Hamorototo azo ao ty afo, hañito azo i fibaray, habotse’e manahake i valalay; mifamorohota hoe kijeja, mivorovoroa hoe sy.
16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away.
Nampamasiañe’o mandikoatse o vasian-dikerañeo o mpibalibalik’ ama’oo; miofoke i kijejay vaho mitiliñe añe.
17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
Hoe valala o mpigari’oo, mifamorohotse hoe kijeja o mpifehe’oo, ie mitobe an-kijoly eo naho manintsiñe ty andro, fe mipitsik’ añe te mafana-voho, vaho tsy fohiñe ty tane nombà’e.
18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
Mirotse o mpiara’oo ry mpanjaka’ i Asore, mitofa o roandria’oo; mivarakaik’ am-bohitse ey ondati’oo, vaho tsy eo ty hanontoña’o.
19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
Tsy hay melañeñe ty bae’o, mahaferenay o fere’oo; fonga hitehateha-pitàñe ty ama’o o mahajanjiñe i talili’oio; fa ia ty tsy nifetsaha’ o fampisoaña’o nitoloñeñe nainai’eo?
