< Luke 7 >

1 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
Agus an tráth do chríochnuigh sé a bhríathra uile a néisdeachd an phobail, do chúaidh sé a sdeach go Capernáum.
2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
Agus do bhí óglach caiptin áirighe, go bréoite, a riochd bháis, air a raibh cion mór aige.
3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
Agus an tan do chúaluidh sé tuarasgbháil Iósa, do chuir sé sinnsir na Níuduighe chuge, ag íarruidh air teachd agus a shearbhfhoghantuidhe shlánughadh
4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
Agus an tan thangadar so chum Iósa, díarradar air go díthcheallach, ag rádh, Gur bhfíu é so do thabhuirt dó:
5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
Oír atá grádh áige dar gcineadhne, agus do thóg sé sionagóg dhúinne.
6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
Agus do chuaidh Iósa léo. Agus an tan do bhí sé a ngar don tigh, do chuir an caiptín a cháirde chuige, ag rádh ris, A Thighearna, Ná cuir búaidhreadh ort féin: óir ní fíu misi go rachfá a sdeach fá chléith mo thighe:
7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Ar a nadhbharsin níor mheas mé gur bhfíu mé féin dul ad ionnsuighe: achd abhuir a bhfocal, agus bíaidh móglach slán.
8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Oír as duine misi féin atá faoi chumhachdiabh. Aga bhfuilid saighdíuirigh fum, agus a deirim ris an bhfearso, Imthigh, agus imthighe sé; agus ré fear eíle, Tárr, agus thigh sé;
9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Agus ar ná gcloisdin so Díosa, do bhí iongnadh aige ann, agus ar bhfilleadh dhó, a dubhairt sé ris a tslúagh do lean é, A deirim ribh, Nach bhfuair mé a Nisrael féin, a chomhmór se do chreideamh.
10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
Agus ar bhfilleadh a steach, do na teachduiribh do cuireadh chuige, fúaradar an searchfhoghantaidh do bhí tinn slán.
11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
Agus tárla an lá na dhiáigh sin, go ndeachaidh sé don chathruigh dá ngoirthear Náin; agus do chúadar mórán dá dheisciobluibh leis, agus buidhean mhór.
12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
Agus an tan tháinig sé a ngar do dhoras na caithreach, fénch, do bhí duine marbh agá bhreith amach, do bhí na áon mhac agá mháthair, agus í na baintreabhaigh; agus do bhí coimhthionól mór ón chathruigh na fochair.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Agus ar na faicsin don Tighearna, do ghabh trúaighe mhór dhi é, agus a dubhairt sé ría, Na guil.
14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
Agus táinic sé agus do bhean sé ris an gcomhraidh: (agus do sheasadar an luchd do bhí agá iomchar) agus a dubhairt sé; A ógánaigh, a deirim riot, éirigh.
15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
Agus déirigh an duine marbh na shuidhe, agus do thionnsgain sé labhairt. Agus tug sé dhá mháthair féin é.
16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
Agus do ghabh eagla íad uile: agus tugadar glóir do Dhía, ag rádh, Déirghe fáidh mór an ar measg; agus, Dféuch Día ar a phobal féin.
17 And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judæa, and throughout all the region round about.
Agus do chúaidh an túarasgbháil so amach air féadh thíre Iúdaighe uile, agus air feadh gach éintíre timcheall.
18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
Agus dinnseadar a dheisciobail na neithe so uile Déoin.
19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
Agus are ngairm Deóin deisi áirighe dá dheisciobluibh chuige do chuir sé dionsuighe Iósa íad, ag rádh, An tusa an té do bhí chum teachda? nó an bhfuilmid ag feathamh ré neach eile?
20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John the Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
Agus an tan thangadar na firsi shuigesean, a dubhradar, Do chuir Eóin Baisde sinne chugad, ag rádh, An tusa an té do bhí chum teachda? nó an bhfuilmid ag feathamh ré neach eile?
21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
Agus ar an uár sin fein do chlánuigh seisean mórán dáoine ó easláintibh agus ó phláighibh, agus ó dhroch spioraduibh; agus thug sé á radharc do mhórán dall.
22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
Agus ar bhfreagra Díosa a dubhairt sé ríu, Ar nimtheachd díbh, innisidh Deóin na neithe do chonncabhair agus do chúalabhair; go bhfaicid na daill, go siubhlaíd na bacuidh, go nglantar na lobhair, go gchimid na bodhair, go néirghid na mairbh, go bhfuil an soisgéul dá sheanmóir do na bochdaibh.
23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
Agus as beannaighthe an té, nach bhfuighe oilbhéim ionnumsa.
24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
Agus an tráth do imthigheadar teachdairighe Eóin, do thionnsgoin seison a rádh ris an bpobal a dtimcheall Eóin, Créud é an ní agá ndeachabhair dhá fhéuchain amach ar an bhfásach? An giolcach ar na bhogadh ag an ngaoith?
25 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
Achd créud é an ní agá ndeachabhair amach dá Chéuchuin? Duine atá ar na éudughadh a néuduighibh mine? Féuch, an luchd bhíos a néudaighibh onóracha, agus a saimhe, is a bpálásuibh na ríogh bhíd said.
26 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
Achd créd é an ní agá ndeachubhair amach dhá fhéuchuin? Fáidh? A deirim ribh go firinneach, agus ní as mó ná faidh.
27 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
Ag so an te, ar a bhfuil sgríobhtha, Féuch, cuirim mo theachdaire romhad, oillmhéochus do shlighe romhad.
28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Oir a deirim ribh, Nach bhfuil éidir chlannuibh na mban faidh as mó ná Eóin Baisde: Achd cheana an té as lugha a rioghachd Dé as mó é na eisean.
29 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
Agus ar na gcloisdin so, do mholadar an pobal uile, agus na puibliocáin, Día, do bhí ar na mhaisdeadh ré baisdeadh Eóin.
30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
Achd tugadar na Phairsínigh agus an luchd dlighe tarcuisne ar choinhairle Dé na naghuídh féin, gan a bheith ar na mhaisdeagh úadhsan.
31 And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
Agus a dubhairt an Tighearna, Cía ré saimhéola mé daóine an chinidh so? agus cía ré ar comshuil íad?
32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
As cosmhul íad re leanbuibh na suidhe ar áit an mharguidh, agus éighmheas ar á chéile, agus a deir: Dó rinneamair píobaireachd dhaóibh, agus ní dhearnabhair damhsa; do rinneamair caoí dhaóibh, agus ní dhearnabhair gul.
33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
Oír tháinig Eóin Baisde ní ag ithe aráin ná ag ol fíona; agus a deirthísi, Atá deamhan ann.
34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
Tháinic Mac an duine ag ithe agus ag ól; agus a deirthí, Feuch an duine cráosach, fioníobhaighe cara na bpuibliocán agus na bpeachthach!
35 But wisdom is justified of all her children.
Achd atá an eagna ar na sáoradh ó na cloinn féin uile.
36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
Agus do íarr duine áirighe do na phairisíneachaibh air, bíadh ithe na fhochair. Agus ar ndul a sdeach go tigh an phairisínigh dhó, do shuidh sé sios chum bídh.
37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
Agus, féuch, an tráth fúair bean don chatbraigh, do bhí na peachthach, a fhios go raibh sé na shuidhe ag bíadh a dtígh an phairisinigh, tug si bocsa ola lé,
38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
Agus ar seasamh agá chosuibh don táobh shiar dhe ag gul, do thionnsgain sí a chosa dionnladh lé na déuruibh, agus a dtiurmughadh lé gruáig a cinn, agus do phóg sí a chosa, agus do ong sí leis an ola ía d.
39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
Agus an tan do chonnaire an phairisineach tug an cuirteadh dhósan sin, smuáin sé na inntinn, ag rádh, Dá madh fáidh an fearso, daithnéochadh sé cía agus gá bionnus an bheanso bheanus ris, óir as peacthach í.
40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
Agus ar bhfreagra Díosa a dubhairt sé rís, A Shiomóin, atá ní agam ré rádh riot. Agus a dubhairt seision, A Mhaighisdir, abuir romhad.
41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
Do bhádar días dfeitheamhnuibh ag fear áirligthe: do dhligh sé cúig chéad pighinn dfior aca, agus cáogad don dara fear.
42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
Agus an tráth nach raibh díolaigheachd ag ceachdar díobh ré na thabhairt dó, do mhaith sé dhóibh aráon. Uime sin ínnis damhsa, cia aca léir ab annsa é?
43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
Agus ar bhfreagra do Shímón a dubhairt sé, Measuim gur leis an té, dár mhaith sé an tsuim as mó Agus a dubhairt seision is, As maith an bhreath rug tú.
44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
Agus ar bhfilleadh dhó chum na mná, a dubhairt sé ré Síomón, An bhfaicean tú an bhean so? tháinic misi a sdeach dod thighsi agus ní thug tú uisgi chum mo chos díonladh: achd do nigh an bhean so mo chosa le na déuruibh, agus dé thiormuigh sí íad le grúaig a cinn.
45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
Ní thug tusa póg dhamh: achd ó tháinig mé a sdeach níor choisg sisi do phógadh mo chos.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
Níor ong tú mo cheann lé hola: achd do ong an bhean so mo chosa ré huinnement.
47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
Ar a nadhbharsin a deirim riot, Go bhfuilid a hiomad peacaidh, ar na maitheamh dhi; air sin as mór a grádheas sí. Achd gidh bé dá maithtear beagan as beag grádhuigheas sé.
48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
Agus a dubhairt sé ría, Atáid do pheacuidh ar na maitheamh dhuit.
49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
Agus do thionnsgnadar an lion do bhí na suidhe na fhochair air an mbórd, a rádh ionnta féin, Cía an fear so mhaitheas na peacuidh mar an gceadna?
50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
Agus a dubhairt sé ris an mnáoi, Do shlánuigh do chréideamh thú; imthigh a síothcháin.
