Joshua 23
1 And it came to pass a long time after that Yhwh had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.
Y aconteció que pasados muchos días que Jehová dio reposo a Israel de todos sus enemigos al derredor, Josué era viejo, entrado en días:
2 And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age:
Y llamó Josué a todo Israel, a sus ancianos, a sus príncipes, a sus jueces, y a sus alcaldes, y díjoles: Yo soy ya viejo, he entrado en días:
3 And ye have seen all that Yhwh your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for Yhwh your God is he that hath fought for you.
Y vosotros habéis visto todo lo que Jehová vuestro Dios ha hecho con todas estas gentes en vuestra presencia; porque Jehová vuestro Dios ha peleado por vosotros:
4 Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.
Veis aquí, yo os he repartido por herencia a vuestras tribus estas gentes, así las destruidas como las que quedan, desde el Jordán hasta la gran mar a donde el sol se pone.
5 And Yhwh your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as Yhwh your God hath promised unto you.
Y Jehová vuestro Dios las echará de delante de vosotros, y las lanzará de vuestra presencia: y vosotros poseeréis sus tierras, como Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dicho.
6 Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;
Esforzáos pues mucho a guardar y a hacer todo lo que está escrito en el libro de la ley de Moisés, sin apartaros de él ni a la diestra ni a la siniestra.
7 That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
Que cuando entrareis a estas gentes, que han quedado con vosotros, no hagáis mención ni juréis por el nombre de sus dioses, ni los sirváis, ni os inclinéis a ellos.
8 But cleave unto Yhwh your God, as ye have done unto this day.
Mas a Jehová vuestro Dios os llegaréis, como habéis hecho hasta hoy:
9 For Yhwh hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
Y ha echado Jehová delante de vosotros grandes y fuertes gentes; y hasta hoy nadie ha podido parar delante de vuestro rostro.
10 One man of you shall chase a thousand: for Yhwh your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
Un varón de vosotros perseguirá a mil: porque Jehová vuestro Dios pelea por vosotros, como él os dijo.
11 Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love Yhwh your God.
Por tanto mirád mucho por vuestras almas, que améis a Jehová vuestro Dios:
12 Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
Porque si os apartareis, y os allegareis a lo que ha quedado de aquestas gentes que han quedado con vosotros, y si juntareis con ellos matrimonios, y si entrareis a ellas, y ellas a vosotros:
13 Know for a certainty that Yhwh your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Yhwh your God hath given you.
Sabéd que Jehová vuestro Dios no echará más estas gentes delante de vosotros; antes os serán por lazo, y por tropezadero, y por azote para vuestros costados: y por espinas para vuestros ojos, hasta tanto que perezcáis de aquesta buena tierra, que Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dado.
14 And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which Yhwh your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
Y, he aquí que yo entro hoy por el camino de toda la tierra; sabéd pues con todo vuestro corazón, y con toda vuestra alma, que no se ha perdido una palabra de todas las palabras buenas que Jehová vuestro Dios ha dicho de vosotros: todas os han venido, no se ha perdido de ellas ni una.
15 Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which Yhwh your God promised you; so shall Yhwh bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which Yhwh your God hath given you.
Mas será, que como ha venido sobre vosotros toda palabra buena que Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dicho, así también traerá Jehová sobre vosotros toda palabra mala, hasta destruiros de sobre la buena tierra, que Jehová vuestro Dios os ha dado,
16 When ye have transgressed the covenant of Yhwh your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of Yhwh be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
Cuando traspasareis el concierto de Jehová vuestro Dios que él os ha mandado, yendo y honrando dioses ajenos, e inclinándoos a ellos. Y el furor de Jehová se inflamará contra vosotros: y luego pereceréis de aquesta buena tierra, que él os ha dado.
