Job 24
1 Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?
“सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर ने न्याय-दिवस को ठहराया क्यों नहीं है? तथा वे, जो उन्हें जानते हैं, इस दिन की प्रतीक्षा करते रह जाते हैं?
2 Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.
कुछ लोग तो भूमि की सीमाओं को परिवर्तित करते रहते हैं; वे भेड़ें पकड़कर हड़प लेते हैं.
3 They drive away the donkey of the fatherless, they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.
वे पितृहीन के गधों को हकाल कर ले जाते हैं. वे विधवा के बैल को बंधक बना लेते हैं.
4 They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.
वे दरिद्र को मार्ग से हटा देते हैं; देश के दीनों को मजबूर होकर एक साथ छिप जाना पड़ता है.
5 Behold, as wild donkeys in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.
ध्यान दो, दीन वन्य गधों-समान भोजन खोजते हुए भटकते रहते हैं, मरुभूमि में अपने बालकों के भोजन के लिए.
6 They reap every one his provender in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.
अपने खेत में वे चारा एकत्र करते हैं तथा दुर्वृत्तों के दाख की बारी से सिल्ला उठाते हैं.
7 They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.
शीतकाल में उनके लिए कोई आवरण नहीं रहते. उन्हें तो विवस्त्र ही रात्रि व्यतीत करनी पड़ती है.
8 They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
वे पर्वतीय वृष्टि से भीगे हुए हैं, सुरक्षा के लिए उन्होंने चट्टान का आश्रय लिया हुआ है.
9 They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.
अन्य वे हैं, जो दूधमुंहे, पितृहीन बालकों को छीन लेते हैं; ये ही हैं वे, जो दीन लोगों से बंधक वस्तु कर रख लेते हैं.
10 They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;
उन्हीं के कारण दीन को विवस्त्र रह जाना पड़ता है; वे ही भूखों से अन्न की पुलियां छीने लेते हैं.
11 Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.
दीनों की दीवारों के भीतर ही वे तेल निकालते हैं; वे द्राक्षरस-कुण्ड में अंगूर तो रौंदते हैं, किंतु स्वयं प्यासे ही रहते हैं.
12 Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.
नागरिक कराह रहे हैं, तथा घायलों की आत्मा पुकार रही है. फिर भी परमेश्वर मूर्खों की याचना की ओर ध्यान नहीं देते.
13 They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
“कुछ अन्य ऐसे हैं, जो ज्योति के विरुद्ध अपराधी हैं, उन्हें इसकी नीतियों में कोई रुचि नहीं है, तब वे ज्योति के मार्गों पर आना नहीं चाहते.
14 The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.
हत्यारा बड़े भोर उठ जाता है, वह जाकर दीनों एवं दरिद्रों की हत्या करता है, रात्रि में वह चोरी करता है.
15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
व्यभिचारी की दृष्टि रात आने की प्रतीक्षा करती रहती है, वह विचार करता है, ‘तब मुझे कोई देख न सकेगा.’ वह अपने चेहरे को अंधेरे में छिपा लेता है.
16 In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.
रात्रि होने पर वे सेंध लगाते हैं, तथा दिन में वे घर में छिपे रहते हैं; प्रकाश में उन्हें कोई रुचि नहीं रहती.
17 For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
उनके सामने प्रातःकाल भी वैसा ही होता है, जैसा घोर अंधकार, क्योंकि उनकी मैत्री तो घोर अंधकार के आतंक से है.
18 He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.
“वस्तुतः वे जल के ऊपर के फेन समान हैं; उनका भूखण्ड शापित है. तब कोई उस दिशा में दाख की बारी की ओर नहीं जाता.
19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned. (Sheol h7585)
सूखा तथा गर्मी हिम-जल को निगल लेते हैं, यही स्थिति होगी अधोलोक में पापियों की. (Sheol h7585)
20 The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
गर्भ उन्हें भूल जाता है, कीड़े उसे ऐसे आहार बना लेते हैं; कि उसकी स्मृति भी मिट जाती है, पापी वैसा ही नष्ट हो जाएगा, जैसे वृक्ष.
21 He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
वह बांझ स्त्री तक से छल करता है तथा विधवा का कल्याण उसके ध्यान में नहीं आता.
22 He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
किंतु परमेश्वर अपनी सामर्थ्य से बलवान को हटा देते हैं; यद्यपि वे प्रतिष्ठित हो चुके होते हैं, उनके जीवन का कोई आश्वासन नहीं होता.
23 Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
परमेश्वर उन्हें सुरक्षा प्रदान करते हैं, उनका पोषण करते हैं, वह उनके मार्गों की चौकसी भी करते हैं.
24 They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the heads of grain.
अल्पकाल के लिए वे उत्कर्ष भी करते जाते हैं, तब वे नष्ट हो जाते हैं; इसके अतिरिक्त वे गिर जाते हैं तथा वे अन्यों के समान पूर्वजों में जा मिलते हैं; अन्न की बालों के समान कट जाना ही उनका अंत होता है.
25 And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
“अब, यदि सत्य यही है, तो कौन मुझे झूठा प्रमाणित कर सकता है तथा मेरी बात को अर्थहीन घोषित कर सकता है?”
