Jeremiah 42
1 Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,
ಆಗ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನೂ, ಹೋಷಾಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಜನೀಯನೂ, ಕಿರಿಯರು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಹಿರಿಯರವರೆಗೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು,
2 And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto Yhwh thy God, even for all this remnant; ( for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us: )
ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರಲಿ. ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೋಡುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ನಾವು ಅನೇಕರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕೆಲವರೇ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದೇವಲ್ಲಾ? ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಎಂದರೆ ಈ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಶೇಷಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರವೂ,
3 That Yhwh thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.
ನಾವು ನಡೆಯತಕ್ಕ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನೂ, ನಾವು ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡು,” ಎಂದರು.
4 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto Yhwh your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing Yhwh shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.
ಆಗ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತುಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾವ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವರೋ, ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವೆನು. ಒಂದು ಮಾತನ್ನಾದರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಹಿಂದೆಗೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
5 Then they said to Jeremiah, Yhwh be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which Yhwh thy God shall send thee to us.
ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾವ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೋ, ಆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಾವು ಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾದ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ. ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವಾಗ, ನಮಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ,
6 Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of Yhwh our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of Yhwh our God.
ನಾವು ಯಾರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುತ್ತೇವೋ, ಆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಅದು ಹಿತವಾದರೂ ಸರಿಯೇ, ಅಹಿತವಾದರೂ ಸರಿಯೇ ಕೇಳುವೆವು,” ಎಂದರು.
7 And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of Yhwh came unto Jeremiah.
ಹತ್ತು ದಿವಸಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಬಂತು.
8 Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces which were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,
ಆಗ ಕಾರೇಹನ ಮಗ ಯೋಹಾನಾನನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಸೇನಾಪತಿಗಳೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ, ಕಿರಿಯರು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಹಿರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರವರೆಗೆ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಕರೆದು,
9 And said unto them, Thus saith Yhwh, the God of Israel, unto whom ye sent me to present your supplication before him;
ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಯಾರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಜ್ಞಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ತರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೀರೋ, ಆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ:
10 If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.
‘ನೀವು ಇನ್ನು ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೆಡವದೆ ಕಟ್ಟುವೆನು; ಕಿತ್ತು ಹಾಕದೆ ನೆಡುವೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಕೇಡಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
11 Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith Yhwh: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.
ನೀವು ಭಯಪಡುವ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ.
12 And I will shew mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕರುಣೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವೆನು; ಆಗ ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವನು.’
13 But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of Yhwh your God,
“ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ, ‘ನಾವು ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ,
14 Saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell:
ನೀವು, ‘ಇಲ್ಲ, ನಾವು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ತುತೂರಿಯ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯ ವಿಷಯ ಕ್ಷಾಮವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.’ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವೆವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ,
15 And now therefore hear the word of Yhwh, ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith Yhwh of Armies, the God of Israel; If ye wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there;
ಯೆಹೂದದ ಶೇಷವೇ, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಈಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ‘ನೀವು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಖಗಳನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಹಾಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟರೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೀವು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೆ,
16 Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which ye feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, whereof ye were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there ye shall die.
ನೀವು ಭಯಪಡುವ ಖಡ್ಗವು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದು. ನೀವು ಹೆದರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕ್ಷಾಮವು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವುದು, ನೀವು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ.
17 So shall it be with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there; they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring upon them.
ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮುಖಗಳನ್ನಿಡುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೀಗಾಗುವುದು. ಅವರು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಯುವರು. ನಾನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವ ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಉಳಿಯುವವನು ಒಬ್ಬನೂ ಅವರೊಳಗೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.’
18 For thus saith Yhwh of Armies, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರೂ, ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತರೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ‘ನನ್ನ ರೌದ್ರ ಕೋಪಾಗ್ನಿಯು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸುರಿಯಿತೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀವು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟ ಕೂಡಲೇ, ನನ್ನ ಕೋಪಾಗ್ನಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸುರಿಯುವುದು. ನೀವು ಅಪವಾದ, ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಶಾಪ, ನಿಂದೆ, ದೂಷಣೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವಿರಿ. ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಮತ್ತೆ ನೋಡಲಾರಿರಿ.’
19 Yhwh hath said concerning you, O ye remnant of Judah; Go ye not into Egypt: know certainly that I have admonished you this day.
“ಯೆಹೂದದ ಶೇಷವೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ‘ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡಿರಿ,’ ಇದನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ: ನಾನು ಇಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
20 For ye dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto Yhwh your God, saying, Pray for us unto Yhwh our God; and according unto all that Yhwh our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.
ನೀವೇ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸು, ‘ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಯಾವ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅದನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸು, ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ನಡೆಯುವೆವು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಮಾರಣಾಂತಿಕ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
21 And now I have this day declared it to you; but ye have not obeyed the voice of Yhwh your God, nor any thing for the which he hath sent me unto you.
ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನಾದರೂ ಅವರು ಯಾವುದರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೋ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
22 Now therefore know certainly that ye shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place whither ye desire to go and to sojourn.
ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ವಾಸಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲು ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಯುವಿರೆಂದು ಈಗ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
