Jeremiah 22
1 Thus saith Yhwh; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
Yahweh disse: “Vá até a casa do rei de Judá, e fale esta palavra lá:
2 And say, Hear the word of Yhwh, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:
'Ouça a palavra de Javé, rei de Judá, que está sentado no trono de Davi - você, seus servos, e seu povo que entra por estes portões.
3 Thus saith Yhwh; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
Yahweh diz: “Executem justiça e retidão, e libertem aquele que for roubado da mão do opressor”. Não cometa nenhum erro. Não faça violência ao estrangeiro, ao órfão de pai, ou à viúva. Não derrame sangue inocente neste lugar.
4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
Pois se você fizer isso de fato, então os reis sentados no trono de Davi entrarão pelas portas desta casa, cavalgando em carruagens e em cavalos - eles, seus servos e seu povo.
5 But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith Yhwh, that this house shall become a desolation.
Mas se não ouvirdes estas palavras, juro por mim mesmo”, diz Yahweh, “que esta casa se tornará uma desolação”'”.
6 For thus saith Yhwh unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.
Para Iavé diz a respeito da casa do rei de Judá: “Para mim, você é Gilead, o chefe do Líbano. No entanto, certamente farei de você um sertão selvagem, cidades que não são habitadas.
7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.
Prepararei os destruidores contra vocês, todos com suas armas, e eles cortarão os cedros de sua escolha, e jogá-los no fogo.
8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath Yhwh done thus unto this great city?
“Muitas nações passarão por esta cidade, e cada uma perguntará a seu vizinho: 'Por que Javé fez isto a esta grande cidade?
9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Yhwh their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
Então eles responderão: 'Porque abandonaram o pacto de Javé seu Deus, adoraram outros deuses, e os serviram'”.
10 Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
Não chore pelos mortos. Não o lamente; mas choramos amargamente por aquele que vai embora, pois ele não voltará mais, e não ver seu país natal.
11 For thus saith Yhwh touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
Pois Yahweh diz tocando Shallum o filho de Josias, rei de Judá, que reinou no lugar de Josias, seu pai, e que saiu deste lugar: “Ele não voltará mais lá”.
12 But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.
Mas ele morrerá no lugar onde eles o levaram cativo. Ele não verá mais esta terra”.
13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;
“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteteousness”, e seus quartos por injustiça; que usa o serviço de seu vizinho sem remuneração, e não lhe dá sua contratação;
14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
que diz: 'Vou construir uma casa ampla e quartos espaçosos'. e corta janelas para si mesmo, com um teto de cedro, e pintado de vermelho.
15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?
“Você deveria reinar porque você se esforça para se sobressair em cedro? Seu pai não comeu e não bebeu, e fazer justiça e retidão? Depois foi bem com ele.
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith Yhwh.
Ele julgou a causa dos pobres e necessitados; então, foi bem. Isto não era para me conhecer?” diz Yahweh.
17 But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.
Mas seus olhos e seu coração são apenas para sua cobiça, por derramamento de sangue inocente, pela opressão, e por fazer violência”.
18 Therefore thus saith Yhwh concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
Portanto Yahweh diz a respeito de Jehoiakim, o filho de Josias, rei de Judá: “Eles não vão lamentar por ele, dizendo: “Ah meu irmão!” ou, “Ah irmã!”. Eles não vão lamentar por ele, dizendo “Ah, Senhor!” ou “Ah, sua glória!
19 He shall be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
Ele será enterrado com o enterro de um burro, arrastados e expulsos para além das portas de Jerusalém”.
20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
“Vá até o Líbano, e grite. Levante sua voz em Bashan, e choro de Abarim; para todos os seus amantes foram destruídos.
21 I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
Eu falei com você em sua prosperidade, mas você disse: “Eu não vou ouvir”. Este tem sido o seu caminho desde a sua juventude, que você não obedeceu à minha voz.
22 The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
O vento vai alimentar todos os seus pastores, e seus amantes irão para o cativeiro. Certamente então você vai se envergonhar e confundido por toda sua maldade.
23 O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!
Habitante do Líbano, que faz seu ninho nos cedros, o quanto você vai ter pena de você quando as dores vierem sobre você, a dor como a de uma mulher em trabalho!
24 As I live, saith Yhwh, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;
“Como eu vivo”, diz Javé, “embora Coniah, o filho de Jeoiaquim, rei de Judá, fosse o signatário à minha direita, eu ainda o arrancaria dali”.
25 And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
Eu o entregaria na mão daqueles que procuram sua vida, e na mão daqueles de quem você tem medo, até mesmo na mão de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e na mão dos caldeus”.
26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
Eu te expulsarei com tua mãe que te levou para outro país, onde não nasceste; e lá morrerás.
27 But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.
Mas para a terra à qual sua alma deseja voltar, lá eles não voltarão”.
28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
Este homem Coniah é um vaso desprezado e quebrado? Ele é um navio no qual ninguém se deleita? Por que eles são expulsos, ele e sua prole, e lançadas em uma terra que eles não conhecem?
29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Yhwh.
O terra, terra, terra, ouça a palavra de Yahweh!
30 Thus saith Yhwh, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
diz Yahweh, “Registre este homem como sem filhos”, um homem que não prosperará em seus dias; pois não mais um homem de sua descendência prosperará, sentado no trono de David e governando em Judá”.
