Jeremiah 22
1 Thus saith Yhwh; Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖ ਕਿ
2 And say, Hear the word of Yhwh, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:
੨ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ, ਹੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਏ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਥਾਣੀ ਵੜਦੇ ਹੋ
3 Thus saith Yhwh; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.
੩ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਲੁੱਟਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ, ਯਤੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਦਾ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੱਕ ਮਾਰੋ, ਨਾ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਵਹਾਓ
4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
੪ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚੀ ਮੁੱਚੀ ਇਹ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਰਾਜਾ ਰੱਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨਗੇ, ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ
5 But if ye will not hear these words, I swear by myself, saith Yhwh, that this house shall become a desolation.
੫ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਸਹੁੰ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਇਹ ਘਰ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ
6 For thus saith Yhwh unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.
੬ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ, ਸੱਚੀ ਮੁੱਚੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਬਣਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ।
7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.
੭ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਸਤਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਚੁਗਵੇਂ ਦਿਆਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ।
8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath Yhwh done thus unto this great city?
੮ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਦੀ ਲੰਘਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੇਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵੱਡੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨਾਲ ਐਉਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੀਤਾ?
9 Then they shall answer, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Yhwh their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
੯ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
10 Weep ye not for the dead, neither bemoan him: but weep sore for him that goeth away: for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
੧੦ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੋਏ ਹੋਏ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਰੋਵੋ, ਨਾ ਮਾਤਮ ਕਰੋ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਧਾਹਾਂ ਮਾਰ-ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਰੋਵੋ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੜੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਨਮ ਭੂਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ।
11 For thus saith Yhwh touching Shallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
੧੧ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੋਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ੱਲੂਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਿਹਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਯੋਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਗਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਭਈ ਉਹ ਇੱਧਰ ਫਿਰ ਨਾ ਆਵੇਗਾ
12 But he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.
੧੨ਪਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਮਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ।
13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;
੧੩ਹਾਏ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਪਰਲੀਆਂ ਕੋਠੜੀਆਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਗਾਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ।
14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers, and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
੧੪ਉਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਘਰ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾਦਾਰ ਚੁਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੇਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਤਾਕੀਆਂ ਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਛੱਤ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੰਗਰਫ਼ੀ ਰੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him?
੧੫ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ, ਭਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਚਾਅ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਧਾ ਪੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ? ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith Yhwh.
੧੬ਉਸ ਮਸਕੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਗਾਲ ਦਾ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਦ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਕੀ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ? ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
17 But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.
੧੭ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਹੱਕੇ ਲੋਭ ਉੱਤੇ, ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਵਹਾਉਣ ਉੱਤੇ, ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ ਹਨ!।
18 Therefore thus saith Yhwh concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
੧੮ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਯੋਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੋਗ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਹਾਏ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ! ਜਾਂ ਹਾਏ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਣ! ਨਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੋਗ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਹਾਏ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹਾਏ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ!
19 He shall be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
੧੯ਉਹ ਦਾ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣਾ ਗਧੇ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਧੂ ਕੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦੇਣਗੇ।
20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and lift up thy voice in Bashan, and cry from the passages: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
੨੦ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੱਲਾ, ਅਤੇ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਉੱਚੀ ਕਰ, ਅਬਾਰੀਮ ਤੋਂ ਚਿੱਲਾ, ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਭੰਨੇ ਤੋੜੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ!
21 I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; but thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice.
੨੧ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਾਗਵਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਾਂਗੀ। ਤੇਰੀ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਹੋ ਹੀ ਰਾਹ ਰਿਹਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ।
22 The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
੨੨ਹਵਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਯਾਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਰਾਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇਂਗੀ!
23 O inhabitant of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how gracious shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, the pain as of a woman in travail!
੨੩ਹੇ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਦਾ ਵਸਨੀਕ, ਤੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਦਿਆਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਲ੍ਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਕੁ ਦਯਾ ਜੋਗ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਜਦ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੀੜਾਂ ਲੱਗਣਗੀਆਂ, ਜਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਔਰਤ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪੀੜਾਂ ਲੱਗਣਗੀਆਂ!।
24 As I live, saith Yhwh, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;
੨੪ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ, ਜੇਕਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਯਹੋਯਾਕੀਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਾਨਯਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੀ ਅੰਗੂਠੀ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਤਦ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੰਦਾ!
25 And I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them whose face thou fearest, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
੨੫ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਡਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ
26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
੨੬ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਣਿਆ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੰਮੇ ਕੱਢ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਉੱਥੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਰ ਜਾਓਗੇ
27 But to the land whereunto they desire to return, thither shall they not return.
੨੭ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀ ਮੁੜਨ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉੱਥੇ ਫਿਰ ਨਾ ਮੁੜਨਗੇ।
28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken idol? is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
੨੮ਕੀ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਾਨਯਾਹ ਇੱਕ ਨਖਿੱਧ ਟੁੱਟਾ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਹੈ, ਇੱਕ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਖੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ? ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਨਸਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਕੱਢੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟੇ ਗਏ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ?
29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Yhwh.
੨੯ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ, ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ, ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣ!
30 Thus saith Yhwh, Write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
੩੦ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਔਂਤਰਾ ਲਿਖੋ, ਇੱਕ ਮਰਦ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਸਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਭਈ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇ।
