< James 2 >
1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
Ka suapui te awng, minthanna i Topa, i Topa Jesus Christ upna sia, ngual doidanna taw len heak vun.
2 For if there come unto your synagogue a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
Banghangziam cile na kikhop na mun uh ah mi khat sia kham khutzungbu le puan hoi mama sil in hongpai a, taciang puan sia a sil mizawng pa zong hongpai ahile;
3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
Puan hoi mama sil a hongpai sia zatakna na nei a, ama kung ah, to mun pha ah to in, na ci uh hi; taciang mizawng pa kung ah, zesung ah ding in, a hibale hiak ka peang ngakna nuai ah to in, ci nu hi:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
Note sung ah doidanna na nei uh a, a pha ngawl ngaisutna te taw thukhen te suak siat hi ngawl nu ziam?
5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
Kong it suapui te awng, ngai vun, hi leitung a mizawng te sia upna sung ah mihau le Ama a it te tung ah a kamciam sa ukna ngamhlua tu in Pathian in teal zo hi ngawl ziam?
6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
Ahitazong note in mizawng te na thupi sim bua uh hi, mihau te in hong sikcil a, thukhenna tokhum te mai ah hong kai hi ngawl ziam?
7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
Amate in note hong ki phua minpha te sonsia hi ngawl ziam?
8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
Na innpam te nangma le nangma na ki it bangma in it in, a ci kumpi thukham sia na tangtungsak uh le, na pha seam na hi uh hi:
9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convicted of the law as transgressors.
Ahihang note ngual na doidan uh le, mawna vawt na hi uh hi, taciang thukham paltan na hi uh hi, ci sia thukham in hong phawksak hi.
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
Banghangziam cile a kuamapo in, thukham buppi a zui sawm napi, khatpo a zui bua ahile, thukham theampo tung ah maw hi.
11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Banghangziam cile palngul mawna vawt heak in a ci sia in, tualthat heak in, zong ci hi. Tu in palngul mawna na vawt bua zong in, tual na that le, nangma sia thukham paltan pa na suak hi.
12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
Suatakna i ngeina om bang in thukhenna a thuak tu te bang in pau vun a, seam vun.
13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
Banghangziam cile hesuakna a nei ngawl peuma sia hesuakna om ngawl in thukhenna thuak tu hi; taciang hesuakna in thukhenna tung ah zo in lungdam tu hi.
14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Ka suapui te awng, mi khat in upna ka nei hi, ci napi sepna a nei bua ahile bang phatuam ziam? ama sia upna in ngum thei tu ziam?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Suapui pa a hibale suapui nu sia pumnguak le anneak tu nei ngawl in ki nusia a,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Note sung pan khatpo in amate tung ah, thinnuam in om vun, na khua uh lum tahen a, na ngil uh zong va tahen; ci napi, pumpi atu a kisap nate na pia bua uh le, bang phattuamna om tu ziam?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Tasia bangma in upna zong, sepna te om ngawl, ama nguak a om ciang, a thi a hihi.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Hi hi, mi khatpo in, nang upna nei ni hi, taciang kei sepna te nei khi hi: na upna sia sepna te om ngawl in honglak tan, taciang kei ka upna sia ka sepna te taw konglak tu hi, ci hi.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Pathian khatbek om hi, ci na um hi; pha mama hi: doai te in zong um uh a, huang vadil uh hi.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Ahihang a mawmaw pa awng, sepna te om ngawl upna sia a thi a hihi, ci na he nuam ziam?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
I pu Abraham in a tapa Isaac sia biaktau tung ah a piak ciang in, sepna te hu in thutang suana nga hi ngawl ziam?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Upna le ama sepna te sia bangbang in seamkhawm a, taciang upna sia sepna te tungtawn in khuangkhim hi, ci na mu ziam?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Abraham in Pathian um a, taciang tua a upna sia thutang suana in ceptesak hi, a ci laithiangtho tangtung zo hi: taciang ama sia Pathian i Lawmpa kici hi.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Mihing sia upna bek taw thutang suana nga ngawl a, sepna taw nga hi, ci na mu uh hi.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Tasia bangma in pumpi zuak Rahab in thupuak te sang a, lampi dang pan in a paisak kik ciang in, a sepna te hu in thutang suana nga hi ngawl ziam?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Banghangziam cile thaa om ngawl pumpi sia a thi bangma in, sepna om ngawl upna zong a thi a hihi.
