Isaiah 1
1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
アモツの子イザヤがユダの王ウジヤ、ヨタム、アハズ、ヒゼキヤのときに示されたるユダとヱルサレムとに係る異象
2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for Yhwh hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
天よきけ地よ耳をかたぶけよ ヱホバの語りたまふ言あり 曰く われ子をやしなひ育てしにかれらは我にそむけり
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
牛はその主をしり驢馬はそのあるじの厩をしる 然どイスラエルは識ず わが民はさとらず
4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken Yhwh, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
ああ罪ををかせる國人よこしまを負ふたみ 惡をなす者のすゑ 壞りそこなふ種族 かれらはヱホバをすてイスラエルの聖者をあなどり之をうとみて退きたり
5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
なんぢら何ぞかさねがさね悖りて猶撻れんとするか その頭はやまざる所なくその心はつかれはてたり
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
足のうらより頭にいたるまで全きところなくただ創痍と打傷と腫物とのみなり 而してこれを合すものなく包むものなく亦あぶらにて軟らぐる者もなし
7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
なんぢらの國はあれすたれなんぢらの諸邑は火にてやかれなんぢらの田畑はその前にて外人にのまれ旣にあだし人にくつがへされて荒廢れたり
8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
シオンの女はぶだうぞのの廬のごとく瓜田の假舎のごとくまた圍をうけたる城のごとく唯ひとり遺れり
9 Except Yhwh of Armies had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
萬軍のヱホバわれらに少しの遺をとどめ給ふことなくば我儕はソドムのごとく又ゴモラに同じかりしならん
10 Hear the word of Yhwh, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
なんぢらソドムの有司よヱホバの言をきけ なんぢらゴモラの民よ われらの神の律法に耳をかたぶけよ
11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith Yhwh: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
ヱホバ言たまはくなんぢらが獻ぐるおほくの犠牲はわれに何の益あらんや 我はをひつじの燔祭とこえたるけものの膏とにあけり われは牡牛あるひは小羊あるひは牡山羊の血をよろこばず
12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
なんぢらは我に見えんとてきたる このことを誰がなんぢらに要めしや 徒らにわが庭をふむのみなり
13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
むなしき祭物をふたたび携ふることなかれ 燻物はわがにくむところ 新月および安息日また會衆をよびあつむることも我がにくむところなり なんぢらは聖會に惡を兼ぬ われ容すにたへず
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
わが心はなんぢらの新月と節會とをきらふ 是わが重荷なり われ負にうみたり
15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
我なんぢらが手をのぶるとき目をおほひ 汝等がおほくの祈禱をなすときも聞ことをせじ なんぢらの手には血みちたり
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
なんぢら己をあらひ己をきよくしわが眼前よりその惡業をさり 惡をおこなふことを止め
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
善をおこなふことをならひ 公平をもとめ 虐げらるる者をたすけ 孤子に公平をおこなひ 寡婦の訟をあげつらへ
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith Yhwh: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
ヱホバいひたまはく 率われらともに論らはん なんぢらの罪は緋のごとくなるも雪のごとく白くなり紅のごとく赤くとも羊の毛のごとくにならん
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
若なんぢら肯ひしたがはば地の美產をくらふことを得べし
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of Yhwh hath spoken it.
もし汝等こばみそむかば劍にのまるべし 此はヱホバその御口よりかたりたまへるなり
21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
忠信なりし邑いかにして妓女とはなれる 昔しは公平にてみち正義その中にやどりしに今は人をころす者ばかりとなりぬ
22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water:
なんぢの白銀は滓となり なんぢの葡萄酒は水をまじへ
23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
なんぢの長輩はそむきて盗人の伴侶となり おのおの賄賂をよろこび 贓財をおひもとめ 孤子に公平をおこなはず 寡婦の訟はかれらの前にいづること能はず
24 Therefore saith the Lord, Yhwh of Armies, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:
このゆゑに主萬軍のヱホバ、イスラエルの全能者のたまはく 唉われ敵にむかひて念をはらし仇にむかひて報をすべし
25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
我また手をなんぢの上にそへ なんぢの滓をことごとく淨くし なんぢの鉛をすべて取去り
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
なんぢの審士を舊のごとく なんぢの議官を始のごとくに復すべし 然るのちなんぢは正義の邑忠信の邑ととなへられん
27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
シオンは公平をもてあがなはれ 歸來るものも正義をもて贖はるべし
28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake Yhwh shall be consumed.
されど愆ををかすものと罪人とはともに敗れ ヱホバをすつる者もまた亡びうせん
29 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen.
なんぢらはその喜びたる橿樹によりて恥をいだき そのえらびたる園によりて慙赧むべし
30 For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
なんぢらは葉のかるる橿樹のごとく水なき園のごとくならん
31 And the strong shall be as tow, and the maker of it as a spark, and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.
權勢あるものは麻のごとく その工は火花のごとく 二つのもの一同もえてこれを撲滅すものなし
