Ezekiel 33

1 Again the word of Yhwh came unto me, saying,

۱ و کلام خداوند بر من نازل شده، گفت:

2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

۲ «ای پسر انسان پسران قوم خود راخطاب کرده، به ایشان بگو: اگر من شمشیری برزمینی آورم و اهل آن زمین کسی را از میان خودگرفته، او را به جهت خود به دیده بانی تعیین کنند،

3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

۳ و او شمشیر را بیند که بر آن زمین می‌آید وکرنارا نواخته، آن قوم را متنبه سازد،

4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

۴ و اگر کسی صدای کرنا را شنیده، متنبه نشود، آنگاه شمشیرآمده، او را گرفتار خواهد ساخت و خونش برگردنش خواهد بود.

5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

۵ چونکه صدای کرنا را شنیدو متنبه نگردید، خون او بر خودش خواهد بود واگر متنبه می‌شد جان خود را می‌رهانید.

6 But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.

۶ و اگردیده بان شمشیر را بیند که می‌آید و کرنا راننواخته قوم را متنبه نسازد و شمشیر آمده، کسی را از میان ایشان گرفتار سازد، آن شخص در گناه خود گرفتار شده است، اما خون او را از دست دیده بان خواهم طلبید.

7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

۷ و من تو را‌ای پسر انسان برای خاندان اسرائیل به دیده بانی تعیین نموده‌ام تا کلام را از دهانم شنیده، ایشان را از جانب من متنبه سازی.

8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

۸ حینی که من به مرد شریر گویم: ای مرد شریر البته خواهی مرد! اگر تو سخن نگویی تاآن مرد شریر را از طریقش متنبه سازی، آنگاه آن مرد شریر در گناه خود خواهد مرد، اما خون او رااز دست تو خواهم طلبید.

9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

۹ اما اگر تو آن مردشریر را از طریقش متنبه سازی تا از آن بازگشت نماید و او از طریق خود بازگشت نکند، آنگاه اودر گناه خود خواهد مرد، اما تو جان خود رارستگار ساخته‌ای.

10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

۱۰ پس تو‌ای پسر انسان به خاندان اسرائیل بگو: شما بدین مضمون می‌گویید: چونکه عصیان و گناهان ما بر گردن مااست و به‌سبب آنها کاهیده شده‌ایم، پس چگونه زنده خواهیم ماند؟

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord Yhwh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

۱۱ «به ایشان بگو: خداوند یهوه می‌فرماید: به حیات خودم قسم که من از مردن مرد شریرخوش نیستم بلکه (خوش هستم ) که شریر ازطریق خود بازگشت نموده، زنده ماند. ای خاندان اسرائیل بازگشت نمایید! از طریق های بد خویش بازگشت نمایید زیرا چرا بمیرید؟

12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

۱۲ و تو‌ای پسرانسان به پسران قوم خود بگو: عدالت مرد عادل در روزی که مرتکب گناه شود، او را نخواهدرهانید. و شرارت مرد شریر در روزی که او ازشرارت خود بازگشت نماید، باعث هلاکت وی نخواهد شد. و مرد عادل در روزی که گناه ورزد، به عدالت خود زنده نتواند ماند.

13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

۱۳ حینی که به مرد عادل گویم که البته زنده خواهی ماند، اگر اوبه عدالت خود اعتماد نموده، عصیان ورزد، آنگاه عدالتش هرگز به یاد آورده نخواهد شد بلکه درعصیانی که ورزیده است خواهد مرد.

14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

۱۴ وهنگامی که به مرد شریر گویم: البته خواهی مرد! اگر او از گناه خود بازگشت نموده، انصاف و عدالت بجا آورد،

15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

۱۵ و اگر آن مرد شریر رهن راپس دهد و آنچه دزدیده بود رد نماید و به فرایض حیات سلوک نموده، مرتکب بی‌انصافی نشود، اوالبته زنده خواهد ماند و نخواهد مرد.

16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

۱۶ تمام گناهی که ورزیده بود بر او به یاد آورده نخواهدشد. چونکه انصاف و عدالت را بجا آورده است، البته زنده خواهد ماند.

17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

۱۷ اما پسران قوم تومی گویند که طریق خداوند موزون نیست، بلکه طریق خود ایشان است که موزون نیست.

18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

۱۸ هنگامی که مرد عادل از عدالت خود برگشته، عصیان ورزد، به‌سبب آن خواهد مرد.

19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

۱۹ و چون مرد شریر از شرارت خود بازگشت نموده، انصاف و عدالت را بجا آورد به‌سبب آن زنده خواهدماند.

20 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

۲۰ اما شما می‌گویید که طریق خداوندموزون نیست. ای خاندان اسرائیل من بر هر یکی از شما موافق طریق هایش داوری خواهم نمود.»

21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

۲۱ و در روز پنجم ماه دهم از سال دوازدهم اسیری ما واقع شد که کسی‌که از اورشلیم فرارکرده بود نزد من آمده، خبر داد که شهر تسخیرشده است.

22 Now the hand of Yhwh was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

۲۲ و در وقت شام قبل از رسیدن آن فراری دست خداوند بر من آمده، دهان مراگشود. پس چون او در وقت صبح نزد من رسید، دهانم گشوده شد و دیگر گنگ نبودم.

23 Then the word of Yhwh came unto me, saying,

۲۳ و کلام خداوند بر من نازل شده، گفت:

24 Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

۲۴ «ای پسر انسان ساکنان این خرابه های زمین اسرائیل می‌گویند: ابراهیم یک نفر بود حینی که وارث این زمین شد وما بسیار هستیم که زمین به ارث به ما داده شده است.

25 Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Yhwh; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

۲۵ بنابراین به ایشان بگو: خداوند یهوه چنین می‌فرماید: (گوشت را) با خونش می‌خورید و چشمان خود را بسوی بتهای خویش برمی افرازید و خون می‌ریزید. پس آیاشما وارث زمین خواهید شد؟

26 Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour’s wife: and shall ye possess the land?

۲۶ «بر شمشیرهای خود تکیه می‌کنید ومرتکب رجاسات شده، هر کدام از شما زن همسایه خود را نجس می‌سازید. پس آیا وارث این زمین خواهید شد؟

27 Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord Yhwh; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

۲۷ بدینطور به ایشان بگوکه خداوند یهوه چنین می‌فرماید: به حیات خودم قسم البته آنانی که در خرابه‌ها هستند به شمشیرخواهند افتاد. و آنانی که بر روی صحرااند برای خوراک به حیوانات خواهم داد. و آنانی که درقلعه‌ها و مغارهایند از وبا خواهند مرد.

28 For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

۲۸ و این زمین را ویران و محل دهشت خواهم ساخت وغرور قوتش نابود خواهد شد. و کوههای اسرائیل به حدی ویران خواهد شد که رهگذری نباشد.

29 Then shall they know that I am Yhwh, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

۲۹ و چون این زمین را به‌سبب همه رجاساتی که ایشان بعمل آورده‌اند ویران و محل دهشت ساخته باشم، آنگاه خواهند دانست که من یهوه هستم.

30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from Yhwh.

۳۰ اما تو‌ای پسر انسان پسران قومت به پهلوی دیوارها و نزد درهای خانه‌ها درباره توسخن می‌گویند. و هر یک به دیگری و هر کس به برادرش خطاب کرده، می‌گوید بیایید و بشنوید! چه کلام است که از جانب خداوند صادرمی شود.

31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

۳۱ و نزد تو می‌آیند بطوری که قوم (من )می آیند. و مانند قوم من پیش تو نشسته، سخنان تو را می‌شنوند، اما آنها را بجا نمی آورند. زیرا که ایشان به دهان خود سخنان شیرین می‌گویند. لیکن دل ایشان در‌پی حرص ایشان می‌رود.

32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

۳۲ واینک تو برای ایشان مثل سرود شیرین مطرب خوشنوا و نیک نواز هستی. زیرا که سخنان تو رامی شنوند، اما آنها را بجا نمی آورند.

33 And when this cometh to pass, ( lo, it will come, ) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

۳۳ و چون این واقع می‌شود و البته واقع خواهد شد، آنگاه خواهند دانست که نبی در میان ایشان بوده است.»
