Ezekiel 14
1 Then came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.
ഇസ്രായേലിലെ ചില ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാർ വന്ന് എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ ഇരുന്നു.
2 And the word of Yhwh came unto me, saying,
അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്ക് ഇപ്രകാരം ഉണ്ടായി:
3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
“മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഈ പുരുഷന്മാർ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച്, ദുഷ്ടതനിറഞ്ഞ പ്രതിബന്ധം അവരുടെമുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ എന്നോട് ആലോചന ചോദിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ അവരെ അനുവദിക്കണമോ?
4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Yhwh; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet; I Yhwh will answer him that cometh according to the multitude of his idols;
അതിനാൽ നീ അവരോടു സംസാരിക്കുക. അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടത്: ‘യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച് ദുഷ്ടതയേറിയ പ്രതിബന്ധം തങ്ങളുടെ മുന്നിൽ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരു ഇസ്രായേല്യനും പ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുത്ത് പോകുമ്പോൾ, യഹോവയായ ഞാൻതന്നെ അവരുടെ വിഗ്രഹാരാധനയുടെ ബാഹുല്യം അനുസരിച്ചുതന്നെ അവരോട് ഉത്തരം പറയും.
5 That I may take the house of Israel in their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.
വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം എന്നിൽനിന്നകന്നുപോയ ഇസ്രായേൽജനത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ വീണ്ടും പിടിച്ചെടുക്കാൻവേണ്ടിയാണ് ഞാൻ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നത്.’
6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Yhwh; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
“അതിനാൽ നീ ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തോടു പറയുക: യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അനുതപിക്കുക! നിങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു പിന്തിരിയുക! നിങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാ മ്ലേച്ഛതകളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുക!
7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I Yhwh will answer him by myself:
“‘എന്നെവിട്ടു സ്വയം പിന്മാറി വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ച് ദുഷ്ടതയേറിയ പ്രതിബന്ധം തങ്ങളിൽ വെച്ചുകൊണ്ട് തങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ആലോചന ചോദിക്കാൻ പ്രവാചകന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും ഇസ്രായേല്യനാകട്ടെ, ഇസ്രായേലിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന വിദേശിയാകട്ടെ, യഹോവയായ ഞാൻതന്നെ അവർക്ക് ഉത്തരമരുളും.
8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am Yhwh.
ഞാൻ എന്റെ മുഖം അവർക്കെതിരേ തിരിച്ച് അവരെ ഒരു നിദർശനവും പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും ആക്കിത്തീർക്കും. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ അവരെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും. അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.
9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I Yhwh have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.
“‘എന്നാൽ ആ പ്രവാചകൻ വശീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ട് ഒരു പ്രവചനം അറിയിച്ചാൽ യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ആണ് ആ പ്രവാചകനെ വശീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഞാൻ അവന്റെനേരേ കൈനീട്ടി അവനെ എന്റെ ജനമായ ഇസ്രായേലിൽനിന്ന് സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും.
10 And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity: the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him;
അവരുടെ അനീതിയുടെ ശിക്ഷ അവർ വഹിക്കും—അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കുന്നവരുടെ അകൃത്യവും പ്രവാചകന്റെ അകൃത്യവും ഒരുപോലെതന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും.
11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord Yhwh.
അതുകൊണ്ട് ഇസ്രായേൽജനം ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും എന്നെ വിട്ടകന്നുപോകുകയോ തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളാൽ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല. അങ്ങനെ അവർ എന്റെ ജനവും ഞാൻ അവർക്കു ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കും എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.’”
12 The word of Yhwh came again to me, saying,
പിന്നീട് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്കുണ്ടായത്:
13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
“മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രം എന്നോടു പാപംചെയ്ത് അവിശ്വസ്തരായിത്തീർന്നാൽ ഞാൻ അതിന്റെനേരേ എന്റെ കൈനീട്ടി അവർക്കുള്ള ആഹാരലഭ്യത മുടക്കിക്കളയുകയും അതിന്മേൽ ക്ഷാമം വരുത്തി മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും അതിൽനിന്ന് സംഹരിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യും.
14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord Yhwh.
നോഹ, ദാനീയേൽ, ഇയ്യോബ് എന്നീ മൂന്നുപുരുഷന്മാർ അതിന്റെമധ്യേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും, അവരുടെ നീതികൊണ്ട് അവർ താന്താങ്ങളെമാത്രമേ വിടുവിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:
“അഥവാ, ഞാൻ ആ രാഷ്ട്രത്തിൽ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളെ അയയ്ക്കുകയും അവ ആ രാഷ്ട്രത്തെ മക്കളില്ലാത്തവരാക്കിത്തീർക്കുകയും ആ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം അവിടം ആരും കടന്നുപോകാതവണ്ണം അതിനെ നിർജനമാക്കിത്തീർക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നപക്ഷം,
16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Yhwh, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.
ഈ മൂന്നുപുരുഷന്മാർ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും അവർക്ക് തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല, എന്നു ജീവനുള്ള ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു: അവർമാത്രം വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ദേശം നിർജനമായിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
“അഥവാ, ഞാൻ ആ രാഷ്ട്രത്തിൽ വാൾ വരുത്തിയിട്ട്, ‘ആ വാൾ ദേശത്തുകൂടിക്കടന്ന്,’ അതിലെ മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും സംഹരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചാൽ,
18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Yhwh, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.
ജീവനുള്ള ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു, ഈ മൂന്നുപുരുഷന്മാർ അതിന്റെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും അവർമാത്രം രക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നതല്ലാതെ അവർക്ക് സ്വന്തം പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല, എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
“അതുമല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ ആ ദേശത്തു മഹാമാരി അയച്ചിട്ട് അതിൽനിന്ന് മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും സംഹരിക്കാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്റെ ക്രോധം രക്തച്ചൊരിച്ചിലിലൂടെ അതിന്മേൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞാൽ,
20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord Yhwh, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
ജീവനുള്ള ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു, നോഹ, ദാനീയേൽ, ഇയ്യോബ് എന്നീ പുരുഷന്മാർ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നാലും അവരുടെ നീതികൊണ്ട് തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നതല്ലാതെ സ്വന്തം പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
21 For thus saith the Lord Yhwh; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
“യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും സംഹരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് വാൾ, ക്ഷാമം, വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾ, മഹാമാരി എന്നീ നാലു കഠിന ന്യായവിധികൾ ജെറുശലേമിന്മേൽ അയച്ചാൽ അത് എത്ര ഭയാനകമായിരിക്കും?
22 Yet, behold, therein shall be left a remnant that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters: behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings: and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.
എന്നാലും ഇവയെല്ലാം അതിജീവിച്ച, പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും അടങ്ങിയ ഒരുകൂട്ടം അതിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോരുന്നതിനായി ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കും. അവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽവരും. നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ ജീവിതരീതിയും പ്രവൃത്തികളും കണ്ട് ഞാൻ ജെറുശലേമിനു വരുത്തിയ അനർഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ആശ്വസിക്കും—ഞാൻ അതിന്മേൽ വരുത്തിയ സകലവിപത്തുകളെക്കുറിച്ചുംതന്നെ.
23 And they shall comfort you, when ye see their ways and their doings: and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord Yhwh.
അവരുടെ ജീവിതരീതിയും പ്രവൃത്തികളും നിങ്ങൾ കാണുമ്പോൾ അവ നിങ്ങൾക്കൊരാശ്വാസമായിരിക്കും. കാരണം, ഞാൻ അതിനോടു ചെയ്തതെല്ലാം വെറുതേയല്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും, എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.”
