Deuteronomy 15
1 At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.
हर सात साल काल के पूरा होने पर तुम ऋण माफ कर दिया करोगे.
2 And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called Yhwh's release.
माफ करने की प्रक्रिया इस प्रकार है: हर एक ऋणदाता अपने पड़ोसी को दी गई ऋणराशि को माफ कर देगा; वह अपने पड़ोसी और अपने इस्राएली भाई को ऋण लौटाने के लिए मजबूर नहीं करेगा, क्योंकि यह याहवेह की ओर से माफ घोषित किया जा चुका है.
3 Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;
हां, किसी विदेशी से तुम ऋण ली हुई राशि ले सकते हो, मगर तुम्हारे द्वारा अपने इस्राएली भाई को दी गई राशि को तुम माफ ज़रूर करोगे.
4 Save when there shall be no poor among you; for Yhwh shall greatly bless thee in the land which Yhwh thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:
मगर तुम्हारे बीच गरीब कोई भी न पाया जाए, क्योंकि उस देश में, जो याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हारे अधिकार में देने के लक्ष्य से मीरास-स्वरूप प्रदान कर रहे हैं, याहवेह तुम्हें निःसंदेह समृद्ध बना देंगे,
5 Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of Yhwh thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.
यदि तुम सिर्फ आज्ञाकारिता के भाव में याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के वचनों को सुनोगे, कि आज मेरे द्वारा प्रस्तुत इन सभी आदेशों का पालन करो.
6 For Yhwh thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
क्योंकि अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के अनुसार याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर, तुम्हें समृद्धि प्रदान करेंगे, कि तुम अनेक राष्ट्रों को ऋण दिया करोगे, मगर तुम ऋण कभी न लोगे. तुम अनेक राष्ट्रों पर शासन करोगे, मगर वे तुम पर शासन नहीं करेंगे.
7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which Yhwh thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
यदि तुम्हारे बीच तुम्हारा ही कोई इस्राएली भाई गरीब है, जो उस देश में किसी नगर का निवासी है, जो देश याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हें दे रहे हैं, तो तुम उसके प्रति अपना हृदय कठोर नहीं कर लोगे और न ही अपनी मुट्ठी बंद नहीं रखोगे;
8 But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.
तुम इसकी अपेक्षा, जिस किसी रूप में उसे आवश्यकता है, उसे खुले मन से और उदारतापूर्वक उधार दो या मदद करो.
9 Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto Yhwh against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
सावधान रहना कि तुम्हारे हृदय में इस अवसर पर यह घृणित, हीन और स्वार्थ-भरा विचार न आ जाए: “सातवां साल! ऋण मुक्त करने का साल निकट है!” और तुम्हारी अभिवृत्ति उस गरीब इस्राएली भाई के प्रति द्वेष भरी हो जाए, परिणामस्वरूप तुम उसे कुछ भी न दो. उस स्थिति में वह तुम्हारे विरुद्ध याहवेह की दोहाई देगा और तुम खुद पर पाप ले आओ.
10 Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing Yhwh thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.
तुम उसे उदारतापूर्वक दोगे, उसे देते हुए तुम्हारे हृदय में ज़रा भी वेदना न हो; क्योंकि तुम्हारे इस काम के लिए याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हारे सारे कामों में, सारी ज़िम्मेदारियों को निभाने में समृद्धि प्रदान करेंगे.
11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
देश में गरीबों का अस्तित्व तो कभी समाप्त ही न होगा; इसलिये मेरा आदेश तुम्हारे लिए यह है, तुम अपने इस्राएली भाई के प्रति पूरी तरह से उदार भाव दिखाओगे; वह भाई, जो तुम्हारे देश में गरीब और साधन विहीन है.
12 And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.
यदि तुम्हारा संबंधी, इब्री पुरुष या स्त्री तुम्हें बेची गई है, तो वह छः साल तक तो तुम्हारी सेवा करेंगे, मगर सातवें साल तुम उसे छोड़ दोगे.
13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:
जब तुम उसे छोड़ दोगे, तब तुम उसे खाली हाथ विदा नहीं करोगे.
14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith Yhwh thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.
तुम उसे अपनी भेड़-बकरियों से, अपने खलिहान से और अपने अंगूर के रसकुंड में से उदारतापूर्वक देकर ही विदा करोगे; याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर ने तुम्हें जैसे आशीष दी है, वैसे ही तुम भी उसी परिमाण में उन्हें दो.
15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, And Yhwh thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.
यह बात तुम न भूलोगे, कि तुम खुद मिस्र देश में दास थे और याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर ने तुम्हें वहां से छुड़ाया; यही कारण है कि मैं आज तुम्हें यह आदेश दे रहा हूं.
16 And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;
भविष्य में, यदि वह सेवक तुमसे यह कहे, “मैं आपको छोड़कर जाना नहीं चाहता,” क्योंकि उसे तुमसे प्रेम हो चुका है, और तुम्हारे परिवार से और उसे तुम्हारे साथ सहजता भी महसूस होती है,
17 Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.
इस स्थिति में तुम द्वार की चौखट पर एक सूए के द्वारा उसके कान को दरवाजे पर लगाकर छेदना. इससे वह पूरी तरह तुम्हारा होकर रह जाएगा. यही तुम्हें अपनी सेवा के बारे में भी करना होगा.
18 It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: And Yhwh thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.
तुम्हारी दृष्टि में उसे मुक्त कर देना कोई कठिन काम न हो. उसने इन छः सालों में वैतनिक श्रमिक की अपेक्षा दोगुनी सेवा दी है. तब याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हारे हर एक काम में तुम्हें समृद्धि प्रदान करेंगे.
19 All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto Yhwh thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.
तुम याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर को अपने भेड़-बकरियों और गाय-बैलों में से हर एक पहिलौठे नर को समर्पित कर दोगे. तुम न पहिलौठे बछड़े से मेहनत कराओगे और न ही भेड़-बकरियों के पहिलौठे मेमने का ऊन कतरोगे.
20 Thou shalt eat it before Yhwh thy God year by year in the place which Yhwh shall choose, thou and thy household.
तुम अपने परिवार के साथ हर साल याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर के सामने उस स्थान पर इनका उपभोग करोगे, जो याहवेह द्वारा चुना जाएगा.
21 And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto Yhwh thy God.
मगर यदि इसमें किसी प्रकार का दोष हो, जैसे विकलांगता, अंधापन या दूसरा कोई भी स्पष्ट दोष, तो तुम इसे याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के लिए बलि अर्पित नहीं करोगे.
22 Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.
तुम नगर द्वारों के भीतर इसका उपभोग करोगे. शुद्ध अथवा सांस्कारिक रूप से अशुद्ध दोनों ही इसका उपभोग करोगे, जिस प्रकार हिरण अथवा चिंकारे का उपभोग किया जाता है.
23 Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.
सिर्फ ध्यान रहे कि तुम उसके लहू का सेवन नहीं करोगे; तुम्हें लहू को जल समान भूमि पर उंडेल देना होगा.
