Deuteronomy 12
1 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which Yhwh God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.
उस देश में, जो याहवेह तुम्हारे पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर ने तुम्हें अधिकार करने के लिए दे दिया है, ये नियम और विधि तुम आजीवन—जब तक तुम इस पृथ्वी पर जीवित रहोगे, बड़ी सावधानीपूर्वक पालन करते रहोगे.
2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
तुम उन सारे स्थानों को पूरी तरह ध्वस्त कर दोगे, जहां तुम्हारे द्वारा उन राष्ट्रों से छीने गए, उन स्थानों पर वे राष्ट्र अपने देवताओं की उपासना किया करते थे; पर्वत शिखरों पर, टीलों पर और हर एक हरे वृक्ष की छाया में.
3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.
तुम उनकी वेदियों को ध्वस्त कर दोगे, उनके पूज्य खंभों को चूर-चूर कर दोगे, उनकी अशेराओं का दाह कर दोगे, उनके देवताओं की उकेरी हुई मूर्तियों को काट डालोगे और उस स्थान से उनका नाम ही मिटा दोगे.
4 Ye shall not do so unto Yhwh your God.
तुम, याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के संदर्भ में इनकी रीति के अनुसार कभी कुछ न करोगे.
5 But unto the place which Yhwh your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
मगर ज़रूरी है कि तुम याहवेह की वंदना उसी स्थान पर करोगे, जो याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हारे समस्त गोत्रों को ठहराए हुए स्थानों में से चुनेंगे, कि वह वहां अपने घर के लिए अपनी प्रतिष्ठा की स्थापना करें, तुम उसी स्थान को जाओगे;
6 And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:
तुम उसी स्थान पर अपनी होमबलि, अपनी बलियां अपने दसवां अंश, अपने कामों के दान, मन्नत्तों की भेंटें, स्वैच्छिक भेंटे और पशुओं और भेड़ों के पहिलौठे लेकर आओगे.
7 And there ye shall eat before Yhwh your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein Yhwh thy God hath blessed thee.
वही होगा वह स्थान, जहां तुम और तुम्हारा परिवार याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में भोजन करोगे. वहीं तुम अपनी सारी उपलब्धियों के लिए, जो याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर द्वारा पूरी हुईं हैं, उल्लास करोगे.
8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
वहां तुम ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं करोगे, जो तुम आज यहां कर रहे हो. अब तक तो तुममें से हर एक को जैसा भी सही लगता था करता जाता था,
9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Yhwh your God giveth you.
क्योंकि अब तक तुम अपने स्थायी घर, उस मीरास तक नहीं पहुंचे हो, जो याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हें प्रदान कर रहे हैं, जहां तुम्हें विश्राम प्राप्त हो सकेगा.
10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which Yhwh your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
जब तुम यरदन नदी को पार करके उस देश में निवास करने लगो, जो याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हें मीरास के लिए प्रदान कर रहे हैं, जहां वह तुम्हारे सारे निकटवर्ती शत्रुओं से तुम्हें सुरक्षा प्रदान करेंगे, कि तुम्हें इस ओर से शांति प्राप्त हो जाए.
11 Then there shall be a place which Yhwh your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto Yhwh:
तब वह स्थान, जो याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर अपनी प्रतिष्ठा के लिए चुनेंगे—तुम वहीं वह सब लेकर आओगे, जिसका मैं तुम्हें आदेश दे चुका हूं: होमबलियां, तुम्हारी शेष बलियां, तुम्हारे दसवां अंश, तुम्हारे हाथों के अनुदान, मन्नतों की भेंटें और स्वैच्छिक भेंटें.
12 And ye shall rejoice before Yhwh your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.
तुम याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर की उपस्थिति में उल्लास करोगे; तुम, तुम्हारे पुत्र-पुत्रियां, तुम्हारे सेवक-सेविकाएं और तुम्हारे नगर की सीमा में रह रहे लेवीगोत्रज, क्योंकि तुम्हारे साथ उन्हें कुछ भी अंश अथवा मीरास बांटी नहीं गई है.
13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:
सावधान रहना कि तुम अपनी इच्छा से किसी भी स्थान पर होमबलि न करने लगो;
14 But in the place which Yhwh shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
मगर तुम होमबलि उसी स्थान पर चढ़ाओगे, जो स्थान याहवेह तुममें से किसी एक गोत्र के स्थान में चुनेंगे और तुम वहीं वह सब करोगे, जिसका आदेश मैं तुम्हें दे रहा हूं.
15 Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul desires, according to the blessing of Yhwh thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
फिर भी, तुम अपने नगर की सीमा के भीतर पशु का वध कर सकते हो, और उसके मांस का उपभोग कर सकते हो; अपनी इच्छा अनुसार, जैसा भी याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हें समर्थ बनाएं, जैसा कि उनका आशीर्वाद तुम्हारे साथ है ही; तुम चाहे सांस्कारिक रीति से शुद्ध हो अथवा अशुद्ध, तुम उसका उपभोग कर सकते हो, चाहे वह हिरण हो अथवा छोटा मृग.
16 Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
सिर्फ यह ध्यान रहे कि तुम इनका रक्त न खाओगे, रक्त को भूमि पर जल की तरह बहा दिया जाना ज़रूरी है.
17 Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy grain, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:
तुम्हारे अन्न, अंगूर के रस, तेल का दसवां अंश, भेड़-बकरी अथवा पशुओं के पहिलौठे, मन्नत की भेंट, तुम्हारी स्वैच्छिक भेंट और तुम्हारी हस्तकृति के अनुदान का उपभोग, तुम्हारी नगर सीमा के भीतर करना अनुमति नहीं है.
18 But thou must eat them before Yhwh thy God in the place which Yhwh thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before Yhwh thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.
इनका उपभोग तुम याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर के सामने उसी स्थान पर करोगे, जो याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर नामित करेंगे. तुम, तुम्हारी संतान, तुम्हारे सेवक-सेविकाएं और तुम्हारे नगर में निवास कर रहा लेवीगोत्रज और तुम याहवेह अपने परमेश्वर के सामने अपने सारे कामों में खुश होओगे.
19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.
सावधान रहना कि तुम आजीवन अपने देश में उस लेवी को भुला न दो.
20 When Yhwh thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul desires.
जब याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर, तुमसे की गई अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के अनुरूप तुम्हारी सीमा का आवर्धन करें, वहां तुम मन में इच्छा करो, “मुझे तो मांस का भोजन करना है,” तब तुम अपनी इच्छा अनुसार ऐसा भोजन अवश्य कर सकते हो.
21 If the place which Yhwh thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which Yhwh hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul desires.
यदि वह स्थान, जिसे याहवेह तुम्हारे परमेश्वर ने अपनी प्रतिष्ठा-स्थापना के लिए चुना है, तुम्हारे लिए बहुत दूर है, तब तो तुम अपने भेड़-बकरी या पशु में से, जो तुम्हें याहवेह द्वारा ही प्रदान किया गया है.
22 Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.
मेरे आदेश के अनुसार पशु का वध कर सकते हो, और उसका उपभोग अपने नगर की सीमा के भीतर किसी भी स्थान पर कर सकते हो.
23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.
सिर्फ यह ध्यान रखना कि तुम लहू का उपभोग न करोगे, क्योंकि लहू ही जीवन है. तुम मांस के साथ जीवन को नहीं खा सकते.
24 Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.
तुम लहू का उपभोग नहीं करोगे; तुम इसे भूमि पर जल के समान उंडेल दोगे.
25 Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of Yhwh.
खुद अपने ही कल्याण के निमित्त और तुम्हारे बाद तुम्हारी संतान के लिए तुम लहू को नहीं खाओगे. यह करके तुम वह करोगे, जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में सही है.
26 Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which Yhwh shall choose:
तुम याहवेह द्वारा नामित उस स्थान पर तुम सिर्फ वे वस्तुएं लेकर जाओगे, जो तुम्हारे लिए पवित्र हैं और तुम्हारी मन्नत्तों से संबंधित भेंटें भी.
27 And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of Yhwh thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of Yhwh thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.
तुम याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर की वेदी पर होमबलि, मांस और रक्त अर्पित करोगे. तुम्हारी बलियों का रक्त याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर की वेदी पर उंडेल दिया जाएगा और तुम मांस का उपभोग कर लोगे.
28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of Yhwh thy God.
बड़ी सावधानीपूर्वक मेरे इन आदेशों को सुनो, कि तुम्हारा और तुम्हारी संतान का भला हमेशा के लिए हो; क्योंकि ऐसा करने के द्वारा तुम वही कर रहे होगे, जो याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में सही है.
29 When Yhwh thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;
जब याहवेह, तुम्हारे परमेश्वर तुम्हारे सामने उन राष्ट्रों को नाश कर देंगे, जिन्हें तुम दूर करने जा रहे हो और उन्हें वंचित कर तुम उनके देश में बस जाने पर हो,
30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
सावधान रहना कि तुम्हारे सामने विनाश होने के बाद तुम उनका अनुसरण करने में उलझ न जाओ, कि उनके देवताओं के विषय में इस प्रकार पूछताछ न करने लगो, “ये राष्ट्र अपने देवताओं की उपासना किस प्रकार किया करते थे? हम भी वैसा ही करना चाहेंगे.”
31 Thou shalt not do so unto Yhwh thy God: for every abomination to Yhwh, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
तुम याहवेह, अपने परमेश्वर के प्रति यह बिलकुल न करोगे, क्योंकि उन्होंने तो अपने देवताओं के लिए वह सब किया है, जो याहवेह की दृष्टि में घृणित है. वे तो अपने पुत्र-पुत्रियों तक को उन देवताओं के लिए दाह कर देते हैं.
32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
तुम सावधानीपूर्वक इन आदेशों का पालन करना, जो मैं तुम्हें दे रहा हूं; इनमें न तो तुम कुछ भी संलग्न करोगे और न ही इसमें से कुछ निकालोगे.
