< 1 Samuel 25 >
1 And Samuel died; and all the Israelites were gathered together, and lamented him, and buried him in his house at Ramah. And David arose, and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
Samuel el misa, ac mwet Israel nukewa tukeni nu sie ac asor kacl. Na elos piknilya in acn sel in Ramah. Tukun ma inge, David el som nu yen mwesis in Paran.
2 And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.
Oasr sie mukul in acn Maon su oasr acn lal in acn Carmel. Mwet se inge el arulana kasrup. Oasr tolu tausin sheep natul, ac sie tausin nani. In pacl se inge el muta Carmel ac kalkul sheep natul.
3 Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb.
Inen mukul se inge pa Nabal, ac mutan kial ah pa Abigail. Mutan se inge el lalmwetmet ac oasku, a mukul sac el mwet na kou ac likkeke se. El ma in sou lal Caleb.
4 And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal did shear his sheep.
Ke David el muta yen mwesis uh, el lohng lah Nabal el kalkul sheep natul,
5 And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name:
na David el supwala mukul fusr singoul nu Carmel, ac sap elos in sokol Nabal, ac us lung lal nu sel.
6 And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast.
David el sapkin tuh elos in fahk ouinge nu sel Nabal, “David el paing kom, ac el mu kut in tuh fahk lung lal nu sum ac sou lom, ac ma lom nukewa.
7 And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel.
El lohng lah kom kalkul sheep, ac el ke kom in etu lah mwet lom ma liyaung sheep nutum elos tuh muta yorosr, ac wangin kutena ma koluk kut oru nu selos. Kut tia pisre kutena ma lalos ke elos muta yorosr in acn Carmel.
8 Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David.
Kom ku in siyuk selos ac elos fah fahk. Kut tuku ke len in kufwa se, ac David el siyuk tuh kom in kulang nu sesr. Nunak munas, kasrekut ke ma kom ku in se nu sesr ac nu sel David, mwet kawuk lom.”
9 And when David’s young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased.
Mwet lal David elos tafwela kas inge nu sel Nabal ke inel David, na elos mutana soano.
10 And Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master.
Ke Nabal el topuk el fahk, “Su David? Su mwet sacn? Nga soenna lohng ke mwet se ingan! In len inge pukanten mwet kohs kaingelik in facl se inge!
11 Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be?
Nga tia ku in sang bread ac kof ac ikwa ma nga akoo nu sin mwet kalkul sheep nutik uh nu sin mwet su nga tia etu lah elos tuku ya me!”
12 So David’s young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings.
Na mwet lal David elos folokla ac fahkang nu sel ma Nabal el fahk ah.
13 And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.
Ac David el sapkin nu sin mwet lal, “Losya cutlass nutuwos an!” Na elos nukewa oru oana el sapkin, ac David el oayapa losya cutlass natul, ac el us mwet angfoko lal som, ac filiya mwet luofoko in muta liyaung ma lalos.
14 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them.
Sie sin mwet kulansap lal Nabal el fahk nu sel Abigail, mutan kial, “Ku kom lohng? David el supwama kutu mwet utuk kas yen mwesis me nu yorol Nabal, in fahkak kas in painguk lal nu sel, tuh pa Nabal el kaskas kou nu selos.
15 But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields:
Sruk David ac mwet lal elos tuh arulana wo nu sesr. Elos tiana orek lokoalok nu sesr, ac ke pacl nukewa ma kut muta yorolos inimae, wangin ma lasr pisrapasrla.
16 They were a wall unto us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.
Ke lusen pacl kut muta inmasrlolos ac liyaung sheep natusr uh, elos tuh karingin kut len ac fong.
17 Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.
Nunak munas nunku ke ma inge, ac suk lah mea fal in orek. Lumah se inge ku in orala sie mwe fosrnga lulap nu sel Nabal ac nu sin sou lal nukewa. El arulana srangesroa, ac tia lungse lohng kutena mwet.”
18 Then Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two skins of wine, and five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of parched grain, and an hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on donkeys.
Na Abigail el sulaklak na orani lof in bread luofoko, ac pak in wain luo nwanala, sheep lumko manman tari, foto luo in wheat manman, tun in grape pao siofok, ac cake fig luofoko, ac el sang ma inge nukewa nu fin donkey ekasr.
19 And she said unto her servants, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal.
Na el fahk nu sin mwet kulansap lal, “Komtal fahsr meet, ac nga fah fahsr tukumtal.” A wangin ma el fahk nu sin mukul tumal ah.
20 And it was so, as she rode on the donkey, that she came down by the covert of the hill, and, behold, David and his men came down against her; and she met them.
Ke el kasrusr fin donkey natul ah, el rauni kuru se sisken eol uh, na David ac mwet lal elos fahsru suwosma nu yorol.
21 Now David had said, Surely in vain have I kept all that this fellow hath in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained unto him: and he hath requited me evil for good.
David el tuh fahsr ac sifacna nunku insial, “Efu ku nga tuh liyaung ma lun mwet se ingan yen mwesis ah? Wanginna ma lal pisrapasrla. Ya pa inge molin kasreyuk luk nu sel uh?
22 So and more also do God unto the enemies of David, if I leave of all that pertain to him by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall.
God Elan uniyuwi nga fin tia uniya mwet ingan nufon meet liki lenelik!”
23 And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the donkey, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground,
Ke Abigail el liyalak David, el sa na srola liki donkey natul, ac faksufi nu infohk uh
24 And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this iniquity be: and let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thine audience, and hear the words of thine handmaid.
sisken nial David, ac fahk nu sel, “Leum luk, nunak munas porongeyu! Lela tuh mwatan ma se inge in oan fuk ac tia oan facl Nabal.
25 Let not my lord, I pray thee, regard this man of Belial, even Nabal: for as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him: but I thine handmaid saw not the young men of my lord, whom thou didst send.
Nunak munas, nimet nunku kacl Nabal, tuh el tia mwet pwaye! El mwet lalfon, oana kalmen ine se lal ah! Nga tuh wangin ke pacl se mwet kulansap lom tuku nu yorol ah.
26 Now therefore, my lord, as Yhwh liveth, and as thy soul liveth, seeing Yhwh hath withholden thee from coming to shed blood, and from avenging thyself with thine own hand, now let thine enemies, and they that seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.
LEUM GOD pa oru tuh kom in tia foloksak ac uniya na mwet lokoalok lom. Inge nga fulahk nu sum ke LEUM GOD moul lah mwet lokoalok lom, ac mwet nukewa su srike in akkolukye kom, fah kaiyuk elos oana Nabal.
27 And now this blessing which thine handmaid hath brought unto my lord, let it even be given unto the young men that follow my lord.
Leum luk, nunak munas eis mwe lung ma nga use inge, ac sang nu sin mwet lom ingan.
28 I pray thee, forgive the trespass of thine handmaid: for Yhwh will certainly make my lord a sure house; because my lord fighteth the battles of Yhwh, and evil hath not been found in thee all thy days.
Leum luk, kom fah nunak munas, sisla koluk luk fin oasr kutena ma sufal nga oru. LEUM GOD El ac fah oru tuh kom in tokosra, ac oayapa fwil nukewa nutum, mweyen kom mweun ke mweun lal. Ac kom ac fah tia oru ma koluk ke lusen moul lom.
29 Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with Yhwh thy God; and the souls of thine enemies, them shall he sling out, as out of the middle of a sling.
Fin oasr kutena mwet lain kom, ku srike in unikomi, LEUM GOD lom El ac fah karinginkomyang, oana ke sie mwet el karingin mwe kasrup saok. A funu nu sin mwet lokoalok lom, El ac fah siselosla, oana ke sie mwet el sisla eot ke fuht natul.
30 And it shall come to pass, when Yhwh shall have done to my lord according to all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have appointed thee ruler over Israel;
Ac ke LEUM GOD El ac oru ma wo nukewa su El tuh wulela nu sum kac, ac oru tuh kom in tokosra fin Israel,
31 That this shall be no grief unto thee, nor offence of heart unto my lord, either that thou hast shed blood causeless, or that my lord hath avenged himself: but when Yhwh shall have dealt well with my lord, then remember thine handmaid.
na kom ac fah tia enenu in asor ku fosrnga mu kom tuh uniya mwet su wangin mwata, ku sifacna foloksak nu sin mwet. Ac ke pacl se LEUM GOD El akinsewowoye kom, O leum luk, nga siyuk tuh kom in tia mulkinyula.”
32 And David said to Abigail, Blessed be Yhwh God of Israel, which sent thee this day to meet me:
Ac David el fahk nu sel, “Kaksakin LEUM GOD lun Israel, su supwekomme in osun nu sik misenge!
33 And blessed be thy advice, and blessed be thou, which hast kept me this day from coming to shed blood, and from avenging myself with mine own hand.
Kulo nu sin God ke nunak wo lom, ac ke ma kom oru misenge, tuh ma inge sruokyuwi liki nunak in akmas su nga tuh akoo tuh in mwe foloksak luk sifacna.
34 For in very deed, as Yhwh God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall.
LEUM GOD El ikolyuwi tuh nga in tia oru kutu ma koluk nu sum. Tuh nga fulahk ye mutun God moul lun Israel, lah kom funu tia sulaklak in tuku sunyu, lukun misa mukul nukewa lal Nabal meet liki lenelik lutu uh!”
35 So David received of her hand that which she had brought him, and said unto her, Go up in peace to thine house; see, I have hearkened to thy voice, and have accepted thy person.
Na David el insewowo in eis ma mutan se inge use nu sel, ac el fahk nu sel, “Folokot nu lohm sum an, ac nimet kom fosrnga. Nga ac oru oana ma kom siyuk an.”
36 And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal’s heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.
Na Abigail el folokla nu yorol Nabal, su muta in lohm sel ac oru sie kufwa lulap, oana kufwa lun tokosra. El arulana sruhi ac pwar, oru Abigail el tiana fahk kutena ma nu sel nu ke lutu tok ah.
37 But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.
Tukun Nabal el sarla liki sruhi lal, na Abigail el fahkang ma nukewa nu sel. In pacl sac mas se sikyak nu sel Nabal, ac manol nufon ulla, el kofla mukuikui.
38 And it came to pass about ten days after, that Yhwh smote Nabal, that he died.
Na len singoul ma toko, LEUM GOD El unilya Nabal ac el misa.
39 And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be Yhwh, that hath pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and hath kept his servant from evil: for Yhwh hath returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her to him to wife.
Ke David el lohng tuh Nabal el misa, na el fahk, “Kaksakin LEUM GOD, tuh El foloksak nu sel Nabal ke sripen kaskas kou lal nu sik. Oayapa God El ikolyuwi, mwet kulansap lal, tuh nga in tia oru ma sufal. LEUM GOD El oru tuh koluk lal Nabal in putati facl sifacna.” Na David el supwala kas nu yorol Abigail in akkalemye lah el lungse payuk sel.
40 And when the servants of David were come to Abigail to Carmel, they spake unto her, saying, David sent us unto thee, to take thee to him to wife.
Mwet kulansap lal David elos som nu yorol Abigail in acn Carmel, ac fahk nu sel, “David el supwekutme in eis kom nu yorol, tuh kom in mutan kial.”
41 And she arose, and bowed herself on her face to the earth, and said, Behold, let thine handmaid be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.
Na Abigail el faksufi ac fahk, “Nga mwet kulansap lal, ac nga akola in oul nien mwet kulansap lal.”
42 And Abigail hasted, and arose, and rode upon a donkey, with five damsels of hers that went after her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife.
Na el sulaklak na tuyak ac sroang nu fin donkey natul. El us mutan kulansap limekosr welul, ac elos wi mwet kulansap lal David som, ac el payukyak sel David.
43 David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they were also both of them his wives.
David el payuk sel Ahinoam, sie mutan Jezreel, ac inge el payuk pac sel Abigail.
44 But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David’s wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim.
In pacl sac pacna Saul el eisalang Michal, acn se natul ma tuh payuk sel David ah, tuh elan payuk nu sel Palti wen natul Laish, sie mwet Gallim.
