< 1 Kings 8 >
1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of Yhwh out of the city of David, which is Zion.
Natonto’ i Selomò amy zao o androanavi’ Israeleo, naho o mpiaolom-pifokoañeo, o roandrian’ anjomban-droaen’ ana’ Israeleo, mb’amy Selomò Mpanjaka e Ierosalaimey, hampionjoneñe i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày boak’ an-drova’ i Davide e Tsione ao.
2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
Aa le fonga nifanontoñe amy Selomò amy sabadidakey o nte Israeleo ami’ty saramañitse, ty volam-pahafito.
3 And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
Nimb’eo o roandria’ Israele iabio, vaho rinambe’ o mpisoroñeo i vatay.
4 And they brought up the ark of Yhwh, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.
Nampionjone’ iereo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày naho i kibohom-pamantañañey naho ze hene fanake amy kibohotsey; nampionjone’ o mpisoroñeo naho o nte-Levio.
5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.
Niharo niaolo i vatay t’i Selomò mpanjaka naho i valobohò’ Israele nifamory ama’ey, le nisoroñe añondry naho añombe tsy nilefe talily ndra iake ami’ty fifamorohota’e.
6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yhwh unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.
Le nendese’ o mpisoroñeo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày mb’an-toe’e, mb’an-toe-miava’ i anjombay, mb’amy masiñe do’ey, ambane’ o ela’ i kerobe reio.
7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
Fa nivelare’ i kerobe rey ambone’ i toe’ i vataiy o ela’eo vaho tinako’ i kerobe rey i vatay naho o baom-pitarazoa’eo.
8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.
Aa akore ty halava’ i baom-pitarazoañe rey kanao isake amy toe-miavakey aolo’ i toe-masiñey, f’ie tsy oniñe boak’ alafe’e ao; mbe eo irezay henanekeo.
9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when Yhwh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
Vata koake re naho tsy i takelam-bato nagodo’ i Mosè ao e Korebe añe rey, ie nifañina amo ana’ Israeleo t’Iehovà, t’ie niavotse an-tane Mitsraime.
10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Yhwh,
Aa ie nivovotse boak’ amy miavakey o mpisoroñeo, le nañatseke i anjomba’ Iehovày i rahoñey;
11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of Yhwh had filled the house of Yhwh.
vaho tsy nahafijohañe eo hitoroñe o mpisoroñeo amy te natsafe’ ty enge’ Iehovà ty anjomba’ Iehovà.
12 Then spake Solomon, Yhwh said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
Aa le hoe t’i Selomò: Fa nitsarae’ Iehovà t’ie himoneñe an-drahoñe milodolodo ao.
13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.
Toe namboarako anjomba fimoneñan-dRehe, toetse himoneña’o nainai’e donia.
14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: ( and all the congregation of Israel stood; )
Nampitoli-daharañe am’ izao i mpanjakay, nitata i valobohò’ Israeley, vaho hene niongake i valobohò’ Israeley.
15 And he said, Blessed be Yhwh God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
Le hoe re: Andriañeñe t’Iehovà Andrianañahare’ Israele, ie nitsara am-palie amy Davide raeko vaho nifonire’e am-pità’e ami’ ty hoe:
16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.
Sikal’ amy andro nampiavoteko amy Mitsraime ondatiko Israeleoy, le tsy eo ty rova nijoboñeko amo hene fifokoa’ Israeleo hañamboarako anjomba, hampipohako ty añarako, naho tsy i Davide ty jinoboko hifehe ondatiko Israeleo.
17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of Yhwh God of Israel.
Toe tañ’ arofo’ i Davide raeko ty hamboatse anjomba ho a i tahina’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ Israeley.
18 And Yhwh said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
Fe nanao ty hoe amy Davide raekoy t’Iehovà: Amy te añ’ arofo’o ty handranjy akiba ho ami’ty añarako, le nanao soa kanao tañ’arofo’o;
19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.
fe tsy ihe ty hamboatse i anjombay, fa i ana-dahy hiboak’ an-tro’oy, ie ty handranjy ty anjomba ho ami’ty añarako.
20 And Yhwh hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yhwh promised, and have built an house for the name of Yhwh God of Israel.
Fa najado’ Iehovà i tsara nanoe’ey amy te nitroatse an-toe’ i Davide raeko iraho naho mitobok’ am-piambesa’ Israele eo ty amy tsara’ Iehovà, vaho namonitse ty anjomba ho a i tahina’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ Israeley.
21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Yhwh, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
Le nampitoereko ao i vatay, ama’e ao i fañina’ Iehovà nanoe’e an-droaentika am-pampiengae’e iereo an-tane Mitsraimeiy.
22 And Solomon stood before the altar of Yhwh in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
Le nijohañe aolo’ i kitreli’ Iehovày t’i Selomò añatrefa’ i valobohò’ Israeley, vaho nonjone’e mb’an-dikerañe ey o fità’eo,
23 And he said, Yhwh God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:
nanao ty hoe: Ry Iehovà, Andrianañahare’ Israele, tsy eo t’i Andrianañahare manahak’ azo andindimoneñe añe ndra an-tane ambane atoy ze mahatambozòtse fañina naho ty fiferenaiñañe amo mpitoro’o mpañavelo añatrefa’o an-kaampon-trokeo;
24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.
ie naha-tañe i tsinara’o am-pitoro’o Davide raekoy; toe tsinara’o am-palie vaho nihenefa’o am-pitàñe o isake henanekeo.
25 Therefore now, Yhwh God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
Ie amy zao, ry Iehovà, Andrianañahare’ Israele, afaharo amy mpitoro’o Davide raekoy, i tsinara’o ama’ey ami’ty hoe: Tsy ho po-ondaty hiambesatse amy fiambesa’ Israeley am-pahatreavako irehe, naho toe ambena’ o ana’oo ty lala’ iareo hañavelo añatrefako manahake o fañaveloa’oo.
26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.
Ie amy zao ry Andrianañahare’ Israele, ehe te ho venteseñe i tsara tsinara’o amy mpitoro’o Davide raekoiy.
27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
Aa vaho himoneñe an-tane atoy vata’e hao t’i Andrianañahare? kanao tsy mahatañ’ Azo i likerañey ndra i likeran-dindimoneñey; sandrake ty anjomba rinanjiko toy!
28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Yhwh my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:
Fa ehe haoño ty halali’ i mpitoro’oy, naho i fiambanea’ey ry Iehovà Andrianañahareko, janjiño ty toreo naho hàtake saboe’ ty mpitoro’o ama’o henaneo;
29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
te hisokake handro an-kàleñe mb’ ami’ty anjomba toy o fihaino’oo, mb’ amy toetse nitsarae’o ty hoe: Ho ao ty añarako; hahajanjiña’o o halaly ho halalie’ ty mpitoro’o mb’ ami’ ty toetse toio.
30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.
Janjiño ty fidrakadrakafam-pitoro’o, naho ondati’o Israeleo, ie misabo mb’ami’ty toetse toy; janjiño am-pimoneña’o andindiñe ao; mijanjiña vaho mañahà.
31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:
Naho anañan-drañetse hakeo t’indaty, naho ampititihen-dre, ie mb’eo mifanta añatrefa’ ty kitreli’o añ’anjomba atoy;
32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

33 When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:
Aa ie zevoeñe aolon-drafelahy ondati’o Israeleo, t’ie aman-tahiñe ama’o; naho mimpoly ama’o naho mamela-pitàn-droe amy tahina’oy, naho misoloho vaho mihalaly ama’o ami’ty anjomba toy,
34 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.
le mijanjiña andindimoneñe ao, naho hahao o hakeo’ ondati’o Israeleoo vaho ampolio mb’an-tane’ natolo’o an-droae’ iareo mb’atoy.
35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:
Ie migabeñe i likerañey, tsy avy i orañey kanao nandilatse ama’o iereo, le ie misoloho mb’ami’ty toetse toy mamela-pitan-droe amy tahina’oy naho miamboho amy hakeo nampisotria’o iareoy,
36 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.
le mijanjiña andikerañe ao, naho apoho ty tahi’ o mpitoro’oo naho ondati’o Israeleo vaho anaro iareo i lalam-bantañe fañaveloañey, hampahavia’o orañe i tane’o natolo’o am’ondati’oo ho lovay.
37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;
Naho kerè i taney, he angorosy ke pozy he tromambo ke valala he beañe, ke forokeken-drafelahi’e o rova an-tane’eo; ke kiria ino, hera areteñ’ ino;
38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
le ze halaly ndra soloho anoe’ t’indaty ndra ze hene ondati’o Israeleo, ie songa fohi’e ty hìla an-tro’e ao vaho mamela-pitan-droe mb’ami’ty anjomba toy,
39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men; )
le mijanjiña andindiñe añe, amy akiba-pimoneña’oy, le apoho naho mitoloña, vaho sindre toloro ty amo sata’eo t’indaty, fa arofoana’o ty tro’e (amy te Ihe avao ro maharofoanañe ty arofo’ o ana’ ondatio),
40 That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

41 Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake;
Le i renetane tsy boak’ am’ ondati’o Israeleoy, ie hirike tsietoitane añe ty amy tahina’oy —
42 ( For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm; ) when he shall come and pray toward this house;
kanao ho janjiñe’e i tahina’o ra’elahiy naho i fità’o maozatsey vaho i fità’o natorakitsi’oy— ie miheo mb’ etoa hitalaho mb’ami’ty anjomba toy;
43 Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.
le mijanjiña andindimoneñe an-toe-pimoneña’o ao, naho henefo o kanjia’ i renetaney azoo; hahafohina’ ze kila’ ondati’ ty tane toy ty tahina’o, hañeveñe ama’o, manahake ondati’o Israeleo, hahafohina’ iareo te kanjieñe ami’ty anjomba niranjieko toy i tahina’oy.
44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto Yhwh toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:
Aa ie mionjomb’ an-kotakotak’ amo rafelahi’eo ondati’oo, ndra mb’ aia aia ty hañiraha’o iareo, vaho mihalaly am’ Iehovà mb’amy rova nijoboñe’oy, mb’ amy anjomba namboareko ho amy tahina’oiy;
45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
le janjiño an-dikerañe ao i sabo’ iareoy, naho i halali’ iareoy vaho meo to.
46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not, ) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
Ie miota ama’o—amy te tsy eo ze ondaty tsy mandilatse zao—le iviñera’o vaho atolo’o an-drafelahi’ iareo, hasese an-drohy mb’an-tanen-drafelahy añe, ke te lavitse he marine;
47 Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
le ie mitsakore an-tane naneseañe iareo an-drohy añe, naho mitolike naho midrakadrakak’ ama’o an-tane’ o naneseañe iareo an-drohio, manao ty hoe: Nanao hakeo zahay, nanao hatsivokarañe, vaho nitolon-karatiañe;
48 And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:
ie mimpoly ama’o an’ kaampon’ arofo naho an-kaliforam-pañova an-tanen-drafelahi’ o nanese iareo an-drohio, naho mitalaho ama’o mb’an-tane natolo’o aman-droae’ iareo, mb’androva jinobo’o toy; vaho mb’amy anjomba niranjieko ho amy tahina’oiy;
49 Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,
le janjiño ty halali’ iareo naho ty fisaboa’ iareo mb’ an-toe-pimoneña’o andindimoneñe añe, vaho meo to;
50 And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:
naho apoho o hakeo nandilara’ ondati’o ama’oo, naho o fiolàñe niolà’ iareo; le iferenaiño añatrefa’ o ninday iareo an-drohy mb’eo hitretreza’ iareo;
51 For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:
amy t’ie ondati’o, i lova’o nakare’o amy Mitsraime, boak’ añivo i toñake viñey.
52 That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.
Ehe manokafa fihaino amo halalim-pitoro’oo naho ami’ty fisolohoa’ ondati’o Israeleo, hihaoña’o ndra mbia’ mbia ty itoreova’ iareo.
53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Yhwh.
Amy t’ie navahe’o amo hene ondati’ ty tane toio, ho lova’o, amy nitsarae’o am-pità’ i Mosè mpitoro’oy, ie nampiavote’o amy Mitsraime o roae’aio, ry Talè Iehovà.
54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto Yhwh, he arose from before the altar of Yhwh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.
Ie nagado’ i Selomò ty nitaroñe’e i hene halaly naho soloho am’ Iehovà rezay le niongak’ aolo’ i kitreli’ Iehovày, amy nitongalefa’e naho namelatse fitañe mb’an-dindim-b’eoy,
55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,
le nijohañe vaho nitata i hene valobohò’ Israele am-pazake ty hoe:
56 Blessed be Yhwh, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
Andriañeñe t’Iehovà nanolo-pitofàñe am’ondati’eo ty amo tsara’e iabio; leo raike tsy nipok’ amo tsara’e soa nampitama’e am-pità’ i Mose mpitoro’eo.
57 Yhwh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
Ho aman-tika t’Iehovà Andrianañaharen-tika, manahake t’ie nimpiaman-droaen-tikañe; lonike t’ie tsy hienga antika, tsy haforintse’e;
58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.
fa hampitoliha’e mb’ama’e o arofon-tikañeo, hañaveloan-tika amo lala’eo, hañorike o lili’eo naho o fañè’eo vaho o fepètse linili’e an-droaen-tikañeo.
59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before Yhwh, be nigh unto Yhwh our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:
Le ehe te harine’ Iehovà Andrianañaharen-tika handro an-kaleñe o entañe nihalalieko am’ Iehovào, hañomea’e to i mpitoro’ey naho ondati’e Israeleo, ami’ty fañeva’e boak’ andro;
60 That all the people of the earth may know that Yhwh is God, and that there is none else.
hahafohina’ ze hene ondati’ ty tane toy t’Iehovà, t’ie ro Andrianañahare tsy aman-tovo’e.
61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yhwh our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.
Ee abey te ho am’ Iehovà Andrianañaharentika an-kaliforan’ arofo nahareo, hañavelo amo fañè’eo, naho hañorike o lili’eo, manahake henaneo.
62 And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Yhwh.
Le fonga nañenga soroñe añatrefa’ Iehovà eo i mpanjakay naho Israele nitraok’ ama’e.
63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto Yhwh, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Yhwh.
Binanabana’ i Selomò amy engam-panintsiñañe nisoroña’e am’ Iehovày ty añombe roe-ale-tsi-ro’ arivo, naho añondry rai-hetse-tsi-ro’ale. Izay ty nañoriza’ i mpanjakay naho o ana’ Israeleo ty anjomba’ Iehovà.
64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of Yhwh: for there he offered burnt offerings, and grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before Yhwh was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.
Amy àndroy ka ty nañoriza’ i mpanjakay ty añivo’ i kiririsa aolo’ i anjomba’ Iehovày; fa teo ty nañenga’e o soroñeo, naho o enga-mahakamao, naho ty safo’ o engam-panintsiñañeo; amy te ni-loho kede ty kitrely torisike añatrefa’ Iehovà, tsy ho ni-tsahatse aze i nisoroñañe naho i enga-mahakama vaho safo’ o engam-panintsiñañeo rezay.
65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before Yhwh our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.
Aa le nambena’ i Selomò miharo am’ Israele iaby henane zay i sabadidakey, nivalobohòke jabajaba boak’ am-pimoahañe e Kamate, pak’ an-toraha’ i Mitsraime añe añ’atrefa’ Iehovà Andrianañaharen-tikañe, fito andro nitovoñañe fito; andro folo-efats’ amby.
66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Yhwh had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
Nampolie’e amy andro fahavaloy ondatio, naho nandriañe’ iareo i mpanjakay naho songa noly mb’an-kiboho’e mb’eo an-drebeke naho añ’ arofo mifale ty amo hene hasoa nanoe’ Iehovà amy Davide mpitoro’ey vaho am’ Israele ondati’eo.
