< 1 Corinthians 14 >

1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
KOMAIL anane limpok, pil inon ion pai nenin akan, a iet me kajampwal re’rail, kokopada!
2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
Pwe me kin lokaia kida nil en wai, kaidin aramaj akan, me a kin lokaia on, a on Kot, pwe jota amen kin dedeki; ari jo, ni nen o a kin lokaia kida me rir akan.
3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
A me kin kokop, kin padaki on aramaj akan, pwen kamaui, o panau o kamait ir ala.
4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the Assembly.
A me lokaiaki nil en wai, kin kamaui pein i, a me kin kokop, kin kamaui momodijou.
5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but even more that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the Assembly may receive edifying.
I men, komail karoj en aja lokaia ki nil toror, a mak eta, komail en kokopada, pwe me kin kokopada, me lapa jan me kin kaparok ki nil toror, ma a jo kak kajiriwukila, pwe momodijou en kamaukila.
6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
Ari ri ai kan, ma i pwara won komail, ap lokaia ki nil toror, da katepa on komail, ma I jota kaweweda de kajanjaleda, de kokopada, de padak?
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
Iduen meakan, me kin lokolokaia ap jota memaur, ma men kwai de arp jota pan nor pajan, ij me pan kak dedeki, da me ira kauleki?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
O ma koronete pan popeuk pin, ij me pan onopadan mauin?
9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
A iduen komail, ma komail pan lokaia ki nil toror, ap jota kaweweda, ij me pan dedeki? Pwe omail lokaia pan me mal kot.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
Jon en lokaia toto nan jappa, a jota eu me jo puloi.
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.
A ma i jaja wewe en lokaia eu, i pan rajon men wai men on me kin kaparok, o me kin kaparok, pan rajon men wai men on ia.
12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the Assembly.
A pil dueta komail, pwe komail kin anane pai nenin akan, komail ari pil nonki kakairida ni mepukat, pwen kamauie kila momodijou.
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
A ma amen lokaia kida nil en wai, i en kapakap ap pil kajiriwukila.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Pwe ma i wia kapakap ki lokaia nil en wai eu, nen i kin kapakap ap jota katepa on amen.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Ari, da me i pan wia? I pan kapakap ni nen i ap pil pan kapakap ni ai lamelam; i pan kapina ni nen i ap pil kapina ni ai lamelam.
16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
A ma koe pan kapaiada ki nen o, iaduen me jota dedeki pan kak inda amen murin om kapina? Pwe a jaja me koe indinda.
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
Ei me mau melel om kapikapina, a jota kadepa on me teio.
18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
I kin danke Kot, pweki i kin lokaiaki nil toror jan komail.
19 Yet in the Assembly I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
Ari jo nan momodijou i men kida lep in lokaia limau, me pwili jan ai lamelam jan lep in lokaia nen ni nil toror, pwen padaki on me tei kan.
20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
Ri ai kan, komail der wiala jeri ni omail lamelam, a ni me jued komail en rajon kijin jeri, a ni omail lamelam komail en unjokela.
21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
A intinidier nan kapun: Lokaia o kil en aua toror, me I pan lokaiaki on kainok wet, a re pil jota pan duki on ia, me Kaun o kotin majani.
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
Nan i me lokaia toror mia, pwen kileledi kaidin me pojon akan, a me jopojon akan; a deideikop kaidin on me jopojon akan, pwe on me pojon akan.
23 If therefore the whole Assembly be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
A ma momodijou pan pokon pena waja kij, o ma karoj pan lokaia ni nil toror, a ma akai ian me jota dedeki, de akai me jopojon, irail jota pan inda, me komail iakalar?
24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
A ma karoj kin kokop, o amen pan pwarado, me jopojon, o me jota dedeki, karoj pan kajanjale on i dip a, o a pan pakajaui ren karoj.
25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
Iduen a me rir akan nan monion i pan janjaleda, o a pan tairokedi ni maj a, kaudoki on Kot, o pan inda, melel Kot kotikot re omail.
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
Ri ai kan, iaduen komail ni omail pokon pena, kaidin amen amen kin kida pjalm eu? A amen kin kawewe, a amen nil toror, a amen kajanjal eu, a amen kin kajiriwukila; a karoj en wiaui, en kamauiada.
27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
A ma amen pan wia nil en wai, me ta riamen, de ma me toto, re pan jilimen, a irail pan irok wei a amen en kajirawukila.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the Assembly; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
A ma jota men kajiriwuk mia, i en nenenla nan momodijou; a en kajoi on pein i o Kot.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
A riamen de jilimen ren jaukop akan pan kak kaparok, a me tei kan en kajauiada.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
A ma amen, ren me momod waja o, pan diar kajanjal eu, men maj ap pan nenenla.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
A komail karoj kak kokop, irok weida, pwe karoj en padakki o kamaitala.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
A nen en jaukop akan kin duki on jaukop akan.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all Assemblies of the saints.
Pwe kaidin komoan me pin men Kot, a en popol duen ni momodijou en jaraui akan karoj.
34 Let your women keep silence in the Assemblies: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
Omail li akan en nenenla nan momodijou kan, pwe a jota muei on irail, en kaparok; a irail en papa, duen kapun me pil majani.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the Assembly.
A ma irail men aja okotme, irail en kalelapok ren arail warok kan ni deu’rail, pwe me kanamenok, li en kaparok nan momodijou.
36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
De majan en Kot tapi jan komail? De a ko won komail eta?
37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
A ma amen lamelame, me a jaukop amen, de me a nenin, a en aja wewe en me i intinki won komail, pwe mepukat kujoned en Kaun o.
38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
A ma amen lolepon, i en lolepon.
39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
Ari ri ai kan en inon ion kokop, o ender kainapwi lokaia nil toror.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
A meakaroj en wiaui nin tiak mau o pun.
