1 Chronicles 17
1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of Yhwh remaineth under curtains.
[達味想建聖殿]當達味住在宮殿時，對納堂先知說：「看，我住在香柏木的宮殿裡，上主的結約之櫃卻在帳幕裡。」
2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.
納堂回答達味說：「你心中打算的，你全可照辦，因為上主與你同在。」
3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
但是，當夜就有天主的話傳於納堂說：「
4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith Yhwh, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:
你去告訴我的僕人達味，上主這樣說：不是你要為我建築殿宇居住。
5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
我自從領以色列上來那天起，直到今天，從沒有住過殿宇，只從這帳棚到那帳棚，從這會幕到那會幕。
6 Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?
在我與全以色列同行時，我何嘗向我立為牧養我民以色列的一個民長說過：你們為什麼不為我建造一座香柏木的殿宇﹖[天主許與達味鴻恩]
7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Yhwh of Armies, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:
現在你要對我的僕人達味說：萬軍的上主這樣說：是我揀選你離開牧場，離開放羊的事，作我民以色列的領袖。
8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
你不論往那裏去，我總是同你在一起，由你面前消滅你的一切仇敵。我要使你成名，像世上出名的大人物。
9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
我要為我民以色列安置一個地方，栽培他們，在那裏久住，再也不受驚擾，再也不像先前受惡人的蹂躪，
10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that Yhwh will build thee an house.
有如我為我民以色列立民長的時候一樣；我要降服你的一切仇敵。並且我告訴你：上主必要為你建立家室。
11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
及至你日子滿期，到你祖先那裏去時，我必要在你以後給你興起一個後裔，即你所生的一個兒子，鞏固他的王權。
12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.
他要為我建造殿宇，我要鞏固他的王位，直到永遠。
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:
我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子；我決不使我的寵愛離棄他，有如離棄你以前那一位；
14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.
反要使他堅立在我的家和我的國中，至於永遠；他的王位永固不移。」
15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
納堂便照這一切話，將整個啟示告訴了達味。[達味謝恩]
16 And David the king came and sat before Yhwh, and said, Who am I, O Yhwh God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
達味就進去，端坐在上主面前說：「上主，天主! 我是誰﹖我的家族又算什麼，你竟領我到了這個地步!
17 And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O Yhwh God.
天主，者贊你眼裏還以為太小，而你又說明了你僕人家族的未來遠景，竟視我有如一個高貴的人，上主，天主!
18 What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.
為了你加於你僕人達味的光榮，我還有什麼話可向你說，你認識你的僕人。
19 O Yhwh, for thy servant’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
上主! 你為了你的僕人，按照你的心意，成就了這些偉大的事，為將這些偉大的事彰顯出來。
20 O Yhwh, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
上主! 照我們耳朵所聽到的，沒有誰能與你相比；除你以外，也沒有別的神。
21 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
世上又有那一個民族，能比得上你的民族以色列﹖天主竟親自將他們解救出來，作為自己的民族，為使你成名，就在你從埃及解救出來的人民前，行了大而可畏的奇事，驅散了異民；
22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, Yhwh, becamest their God.
你使你的民族以色列永遠作你的民族，你，上主做他們的天主。
23 Therefore now, Yhwh, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.
上主! 現在求你永遠堅持你論及你僕人，及他的家室所說的話，照你所說的話履行罷!
24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, Yhwh of Armies is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.
願這話堅定不移，願你的名永遠受尊崇，人人都說：萬軍的上主，以色列的天主，實在是以色列的天主。願你的僕役達味的家室，在你面前堅定不移!
25 For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.
我的天主! 因為是你啟示你的僕人，要為他建立家室，因此，你的僕人纔敢在你面前如此祈禱。
26 And now, Yhwh, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
上主! 惟獨你是天主! 是你向你僕人應許了這些恩惠。
27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Yhwh, and it shall be blessed for ever.
現在，就請你惠然祝福你僕人的家室，使它永遠在你面前存立。上主! 因為凡你祝福的，必永遠獲得祝福。」
