Romans 4
1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?
ⲁ̅ⲟⲩ ϭⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϫⲟⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ϫⲓⲛ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ
2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before YHWH.
ⲃ̅ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲙⲁⲓⲉ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧϥ ⲟⲩϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲛ
3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed YHWH, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
ⲅ̅ⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉ ⲧⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲡⲥ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of favour, but of debt.
ⲇ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲉⲡ ⲡⲉϥⲃⲉⲕⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩⲙⲡϣⲁ
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the unrighteous, his faith is counted for righteousness.
ⲉ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲧⲙⲁⲉⲓⲟ ⲙⲡⲁⲥⲉⲃⲏⲥ ϣⲁⲩⲉⲡ ⲧⲉϥⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ
6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom YHWH imputeth righteousness without works,
ⲋ̅ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉϣⲁⲣⲉ ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ϫⲱ ⲙⲡⲙⲁⲕⲁⲣⲓⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲱⲡ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲟⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲁϫⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
ⲍ̅ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲕⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲁⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϩⲱⲃⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲟⲃⲉ
8 Blessed is the man to whom YHWH will not impute sin.
ⲏ̅ⲛⲁⲓⲁⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲉⲡ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ
9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
ⲑ̅ⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁⲕⲁⲣⲓⲥⲙⲟⲥ ϭⲉ ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲉϫⲙ ⲡⲥⲃⲃⲉ ϫⲛ ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧⲕⲉⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲧⲛϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲉⲡ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ
10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
ⲓ̅ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲟⲡⲥ ϭⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲁϣ ⲛϩⲉ ⲛⲉϥϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲡⲉ ϫⲛ ⲉϥϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲛⲉϥϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉϥϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃⲃⲉ
11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲛⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲛⲥⲫⲣⲁⲅⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲛⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲟⲡⲥ ϩⲱⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ
12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲡⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲛⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲃⲃⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲏ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲛⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ
14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲓⲉ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϣⲟⲩⲉⲓⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲱⲥϥ
15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲩⲟⲣⲅⲏ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲛⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲥⲓⲥ
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by favour; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲟⲩⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲧⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉϥⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲙⲡⲕⲉⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲣⲛ
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, ) before him whom he believed, even YHWH, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓⲕⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ ⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲧⲁⲛϩⲟ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲧⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲉϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲟⲡ
18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲟⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲩϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲕⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡϥϭⲃⲃⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲉⲁϥⲕⲁϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲡⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲙⲛⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧⲉ ⲛⲥⲁⲣⲣⲁ
20 He staggered not at the promise of YHWH through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to YHWH;
ⲕ̅ⲉⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡϥⲣϩⲏⲧ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲁⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲁϥϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲧ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲁⲁϥ
22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲟⲡⲥ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ
23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲁϩϥ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲟⲡⲥ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Yahushua our Saviour from the dead;
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲧⲃⲏⲏⲧⲛ ϩⲱⲱⲛ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲟⲡⲥ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲟⲩⲛⲉⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲙⲁⲉⲓⲟ
