< Romans 11 >

1 I say then, Hath YHWH cast away his people? By no means. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
第三款 イスラエル人に取りての大いなる慰 然らば我は言はん、神は其民を棄て給ひしかと、然らず、其は我もイスラエル人にして、アブラハムの裔、ベンヤミンの族なればなり。
2 YHWH hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture saith of EliYah? how he maketh intercession to YHWH against Israel, saying,
神は豫知し給ひし己の民を棄て給はざりしなり。汝等エリアに就きて聖書の曰へる事を知らざるか、即ち彼イスラエル人を神に訟へて言へらく、
3 YHWH, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
「主よ、彼等は主の預言者等を殺し、悉く主の祭壇を毀てり、然て我一人殘れるに、尚我命を求めんとするなり」と。
4 But what saith the answer of YHWH unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
而して神の御答に何と曰へるぞ、「我は己の為に、バアルの前に跪かざる七千の男子を殘したるなり」と。
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of favour.
斯の如く、今の時も亦恩寵の撰に由りて殘れる者は救はれたり。
6 And if by favour, then is it no more of works: otherwise favour is no more favour. But if it be of works, then is it no more favour: otherwise work is no more work.
恩寵に由れば業に由るに非ず、然らざれば恩寵は最早恩寵に非ざるべし。
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
然らば何ぞや、イスラエル人は其求め居たりし所を得ず、撰まれたる人は之を得て、他の人は頑固になれり。
8 (According as it is written, YHWH hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear; ) unto this day.
録して、「神は彼等に茫然たる精神、見得べからざる目、聞得べからざる耳を賜ひて今日に至る」、とあるが如し。
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompence unto them:
ダヴィド又曰く「願はくは彼等の食卓、網となり、罠となり、躓くものとなり、報となれかし、
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
其目は眩みて見えざらしめ、其背は何時も屈ましめ給へ」、と。
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? By no means: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
然れば我は言はん、彼等の躓きしは倒れん為なるかと、然らず、却て彼等を妬ましむる様、其堕落によりて、救は異邦人の上に來れり。
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
若彼等の堕落が世の富となり、其減少は異邦人の富とならば、况や彼等の全數をや。
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
蓋我、汝等異邦人に謂はん、我異邦人の使徒たる間は、我が[聖]役に榮誉を來さん。
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
是如何にもして、我骨肉たる者を刺激して之を励まし、其幾何かを救はん為なり。
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
蓋彼等の排斥が世の和睦とならば、其採用は豈死より再生するに同じからざらんや。
16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
若麪の初穂聖ならば全體も然あるべく、根聖ならば枝も然あるべし。
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
假令幾何かの枝折られて、野生の橄欖たりし汝之に接がれ、橄欖の根と液汁とを共にするものとなりたりとも、
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
枝に向ひて誇ること勿れ、誇らんとするも、汝が根を保つに非ずして根こそ汝を保つなれ。
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
汝或は言はん、枝の折られしは我が接がれん為なりと。
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
諾し、彼等は其不信仰に由りて折られしに、汝は信仰に由りて立てるなり。然れど驕ること勿れ、却て懼れよ。
21 For if YHWH spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
蓋神は原樹の枝を惜み給はざりしなれば、恐くは汝をも惜み給はざるべし。
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of YHWH: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
然れば神の慈愛と厳格とを見よ、倒れし人々に對しては惟厳格、汝に對しては惟慈愛、但是汝が其慈愛に止ればのみ、然らずんば汝も取除かるべし。
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for YHWH is able to graff them in again.
彼等も若不信仰に止らずば接がるるならん、其は神は再び之を接ぐことを得給へばなり。
24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
汝は生來野生なる橄欖より切取られ、其本性に反して好き橄欖に接がれたれば、况や本性のものが原の橄欖に接がるるをや。
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
兄弟等よ、自ら敏しとする事なからん為に、我は汝等が此奥義を知らざるを好まず、即ちイスラエルの幾部分の頑固になれるは、異邦人全體の入來るまでなり。
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away wickedness from Jacob:
斯てイスラエルは挙りて救はるるに至るべし、録して、「救ふ者シオンに來り、ヤコブより不敬を去らしめん。
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
我彼等の罪を取除きたらん時、彼等と結ぶべき約束は是なり」、とあるが如し。
28 As concerning the glad tidings, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
福音に就きては、彼等汝等の為に敵なれども、選抜に就きては其祖先の為に至愛の者なり、
29 For the gifts and calling of YHWH are without repentance.
其は神の賜と召とは、取消さるる事なければなり。
30 For as ye in times past have not believed YHWH, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
斯て汝等も原神に從はざりしに、今や彼等の不從順に由りて慈悲を蒙りし如く、
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
今彼等の從はざるも亦汝等の[蒙りし]慈悲に由りて己も慈悲を蒙らん為なり。
32 For YHWH hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. (eleēsē g1653)
是衆人を憫み給はん為に、神が之を不從順に籠め給へるなり。 (eleēsē g1653)
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of YHWH! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
嗚呼高大なる哉、神の富と智恵と知識と。其判定の覚り難さよ、其道の極め難さよ。
34 For who hath known the mind of YHWH? or who hath been his counseller?
誰か主の御心を知り、誰か之と共に議りたるぞ。
35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
誰か先之に與へて、其報を得ん者ぞ。
36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. (aiōn g165)
蓋萬事は彼に倚りて彼を以て彼の為に在り、光榮世々彼に歸す、アメン。 (aiōn g165)
