Revelation 13
1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
E o dragão ficou em pé na praia. E, então, vi um monstro que surgia do mar. Ele tinha dez chifres e sete cabeças, com dez pequenas coroas em seus chifres e tinha nomes que eram blasfêmias, escritos em suas cabeças.
2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
O monstro que eu vi se parecia com um leopardo, mas os seus pés pareciam patas de um urso e a sua boca era como a de um leão. O dragão deu para o monstro o seu poder, o seu trono e grande autoridade.
3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
Uma das suas cabeças parecia ter sido golpeada mortalmente, mas essa ferida fatal tinha sido curada. O mundo todo ficou maravilhado com o dragão
4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
e começaram a adorá-lo, porque ele tinha dado a sua autoridade para o monstro. E as pessoas também adoravam o monstro, perguntando: “Quem tem tanto poder quanto o monstro? Quem poderia vencê-lo?”
5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
Ele recebeu a habilidade de contar grandes vantagens e de dizer blasfêmias, além de receber também a autoridade para fazer isso durante quarenta e dois meses.
6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against YHWH, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
Assim que abriu a sua boca, falou blasfêmias contra Deus, insultando o caráter do Senhor, o seu santuário e aqueles que vivem no céu.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
O monstro recebeu o poder de atacar o povo de Deus e de derrotá-lo. Ele também ganhou do dragão a autoridade sobre todos os povos, tribos, línguas e nações.
8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Todos que moram no mundo irão adorá-lo, todos os que não têm os seus nomes escritos no Livro da Vida, desde a fundação do mundo. Esse livro pertence ao Cordeiro, que foi morto.
9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.
Se vocês têm ouvidos, ouçam!
10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
Quem tiver que ser preso, será preso; quem tiver que morrer pela espada, morrerá pela espada. Isso demonstra a perseverança paciente e a confiança em Deus dos irmãos na fé.
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.
Então, eu vi outro monstro, surgindo da terra. Ele tinha dois chifres como um carneiro, mas falava como um dragão.
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Ele exerce a mesma autoridade que o primeiro monstro, na sua presença, e faz com que a terra e aqueles que nela vivem adorem o primeiro monstro, de quem a ferida fatal tinha sido curada.
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
Ele realizou grandes milagres, trazendo até mesmo fogo do céu para a terra, enquanto as pessoas olhavam admiradas.
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Enganou aqueles que vivem na terra, por meio dos milagres que realizava em nome do monstro. Ordenou que as pessoas fizessem uma imagem para o monstro, que tinha um ferimento fatal feito por espada, mas que voltou à vida.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Ele recebeu permissão para soprar vida na imagem do primeiro monstro, para que ela pudesse falar e ordenar que quem não a adorasse fosse condenado à morte.
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Ele fez com que todos, importantes e humildes, ricos ou pobres, livres ou escravos, recebessem um sinal na mão direita ou na testa.
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Ninguém poderia comprar ou vender, a não ser que tivesse o sinal. Esse sinal era o nome do monstro, ou o número do seu nome.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
É preciso ter sabedoria aqui. Quem tiver entendimento pode descobrir o número do monstro, pois é o número de um homem. O seu número é 666.
