Psalms 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Joka Korkeimman suojassa istuu ja Kaikkivaltiaan varjossa yöpyy,
2 I will say of YHWH, He is my refuge and my fortress: my Elohim; in him will I trust.
se sanoo: "Herra on minun turvani ja linnani, hän on minun Jumalani, johon minä turvaan".
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
Sillä hän päästää sinut linnustajan paulasta, turmiollisesta rutosta.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Sulillansa hän sinua suojaa, ja sinä saat turvan hänen siipiensä alla; hänen uskollisuutensa on kilpi ja suojus.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Et sinä pelkää yön kauhuja, et päivällä lentävää nuolta,
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
et ruttoa, joka pimeässä kulkee, et kulkutautia, joka päiväsydännä häviötä tekee.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Vaikka tuhat kaatuisi sinun sivultasi, kymmenen tuhatta oikealta puoleltasi, ei se sinuun satu.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Sinun silmäsi saavat vain katsella ja nähdä, kuinka jumalattomille kostetaan. -
9 Because thou hast made YHWH, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
Sillä: "Sinä, Herra, olet minun turvani". -Korkeimman olet sinä ottanut suojaksesi.
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Ei kohtaa sinua onnettomuus, eikä vitsaus lähesty sinun majaasi.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Sillä hän antaa enkeleilleen sinusta käskyn varjella sinua kaikilla teilläsi.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
He kantavat sinua käsillänsä, ettet jalkaasi kiveen loukkaisi.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Sinä kuljet leijonan ja kyykäärmeen ylitse, sinä tallaat nuorta jalopeuraa ja lohikäärmettä. -
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
"Koska hän riippuu minussa kiinni, niin minä hänet pelastan; minä suojelen hänet, koska hän tuntee minun nimeni.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Hän huutaa minua avuksensa, ja minä vastaan hänelle, minä olen hänen tykönänsä, kun hänellä on ahdistus, minä vapahdan hänet ja saatan hänet kunniaan.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Minä ravitsen hänet pitkällä iällä ja suon hänen nähdä antamani pelastuksen."
