< Psalms 54 >
1 Save me, O Elohim, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.
To the Chief Musician: with Stringed Instruments. A Psalm of Instruction, of David. When the Ziphites came and said unto Saul, Is not, David, hiding himself, with us? O God! by thine own Name, save me, And, by thine own strength, wilt thou vindicate me?
2 Hear my prayer, O Elohim; give ear to the words of my mouth.
O God! Hear my prayer, Give ear to the sayings of my mouth;
3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set Elohim before them. (Selah)
For, aliens, have risen up against me, And, men of violence, have sought my life, They have not set God before them. (Selah)
4 Behold, Elohim is mine helper: YHWH is with them that uphold my soul.
Lo! God, is bringing me help, My Lord, is with the upholders of my life;
5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
Let him turn back the mischief upon mine adversaries, In thy faithfulness, destroy them!
6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O YHWH; for it is good.
With a freewill-offering, will I sacrifice unto thee, I will praise thy Name, O Yahweh, for it is good;
7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.
For, out of all distress, hath he rescued me, —And, upon my foes, hath, mine own eye, looked.
