Psalms 2

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

【默西亞必勝】萬邦為什麼囂張，眾民為什麼妄想？

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against YHWH, and against his anointed, saying,

世上列民群集一堂，諸侯畢至聚首相商，反抗上主，反抗他的受傅者：

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

來！我們掙斷他們的綑綁，我們擺脫他們的繩韁！

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: YHWH shall have them in derision.

坐於天上者在冷笑，我主對他們在熱嘲。

5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.

在震怒中對他們發言，在氣焰中對他們喝道：

6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

我已祝聖我的君王，在熙雍我的聖山上。

7 I will declare the decree: YHWH hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

我要傳報上主的聖旨：上主對我說：你是我的兒子，我今日生了你。

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

你向我請求，我必將萬民賜你作產業，我必將八極賜你作領地。

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

你必以鐵杖將他們粉碎，就如打破陶匠的瓦器。

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

眾王！你們現在應當自覺，大地掌權者！你們應受教：

11 Serve YHWH with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

應以敬愛之情事奉上主，戰戰兢兢向祂跪拜叩首；

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

以免祂發怒將你們滅於中途，因為祂的怒火發怒非常快速。凡一切投奔祂的人真是有福。
