< Psalms 121 >
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
[A Song of Ascents.] I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from?
2 My help cometh from YHWH, which made heaven and earth.
My help comes from Jehovah, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
Look, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 YHWH is thy keeper: YHWH is thy shade upon thy right hand.
Jehovah is your keeper. Jehovah is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
7 YHWH shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
Jehovah will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.
8 YHWH shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Jehovah will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore.
