< Psalms 11 >

1 In YHWH put I my trust: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
Psalmus David, in finem. In Domino confido: quomodo dicitis animae meae: Transmigra in montem sicut passer?
2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
Quoniam ecce peccatores intenderunt arcum, paraverunt sagittas suas in pharetra, ut sagittent in obscuro rectos corde.
3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Quoniam quae perfecisti, destruxerunt: iustus autem quid fecit?
4 YHWH is in his holy temple, YHWH 's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.
Dominus in templo sancto suo, Dominus in caelo sedes eius: Oculi eius in pauperem respiciunt: palpebrae eius interrogant filios hominum.
5 YHWH trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
Dominus interrogat iustum et impium: qui autem diligit iniquitatem, odit animam suam.
6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
Pluet super peccatores laqueos: ignis, et sulphur, et spiritus procellarum pars calicis eorum.
7 For the righteous YHWH loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.
Quoniam iustus Dominus et iustitias dilexit: aequitatem vidit vultus eius.
