Proverbs 3
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, എന്റെ ഉപദേശം നീ വിസ്മരിക്കരുത്, എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകൾ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുക,
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
അവ നിന്റെ ആയുസ്സ് പല വർഷങ്ങൾ ദീർഘിപ്പിക്കും അവ നിനക്കു സമാധാനവും സമൃദ്ധിയും പ്രദാനംചെയ്യും.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
ആത്മാർഥതയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപിരിയാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവ നിന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ അണിയുക, നിന്റെ ഹൃദയഫലകത്തിൽ ആലേഖനംചെയ്യുക.
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of Elohim and man.
അപ്പോൾ നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും മനുഷ്യരുടെയും ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ പ്രീതിയും സൽപ്പേരും സമ്പാദിക്കും.
5 Trust in YHWH with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
പൂർണഹൃദയത്തോടെ നീ യഹോവയിൽ വിശ്വാസമർപ്പിക്കുക സ്വന്തവിവേകത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുകയുമരുത്;
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
നിന്റെ ചെയ്തികളെല്ലാം ദൈവികാംഗീകാരമുള്ളതായിരിക്കട്ടെ, അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെ സഞ്ചാരപാതകൾ നേരേയാക്കും.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear YHWH, and depart from evil.
സ്വബുദ്ധിയിൽ, നീ ജ്ഞാനിയെന്നു ഭാവിക്കരുത്; യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ട് തിന്മയിൽനിന്ന് അകന്നുനിൽക്കുക.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
ഇതു നിന്റെ ശരീരത്തിന് ആരോഗ്യവും അസ്ഥികൾക്ക് പോഷണവും നൽകും.
9 Honour YHWH with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
നിന്റെ സമ്പത്തുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവയെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുക നിന്റെ എല്ലാ വിളവുകളുടെയും ആദ്യഫലംകൊണ്ടുംതന്നെ;
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
അപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ധാന്യപ്പുരകൾ സമൃദ്ധമായി നിറയും നിന്റെ ഭരണികൾ പുതുവീഞ്ഞിനാൽ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകും.
11 My son, despise not the chastening of YHWH; neither be weary of his correction:
എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, യഹോവയുടെ ശിക്ഷണം നിരസിക്കരുത്, അവിടത്തെ ശാസനയോട് അമർഷം തോന്നുകയുമരുത്,
12 For whom YHWH loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
കാരണം, ഒരു പിതാവ് തന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രനോട് എന്നതുപോലെ യഹോവ, താൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
ജ്ഞാനം കണ്ടെത്തുകയും വിവേകം നേടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ,
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
കാരണം അവൾ വെള്ളിയെക്കാൾ ആദായകരവും കനകത്തെക്കാൾ ലാഭകരവുമാണ്.
15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
അവൾ മാണിക്യത്തെക്കാൾ അമൂല്യമാണ്; നീ അഭിലഷിക്കുന്നതൊന്നും അതിനു തുല്യമാകുകയില്ല.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
അവൾ വലതുകരത്തിൽ ദീർഘായുസ്സും; ഇടതുകരത്തിൽ ധനസമൃദ്ധിയും ബഹുമതിയും വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്യുന്നു.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
അവളുടെ വഴികൾ ആനന്ദഹേതുവും അവളുടെ പാതകളെല്ലാം സമാധാനപൂർണവും ആകുന്നു.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
അവളെ ആലിംഗനംചെയ്യുന്നവർക്ക് അവൾ ഒരു ജീവവൃക്ഷം; അവളെ മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതരാകും.
19 YHWH by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
ജ്ഞാനത്താൽ യഹോവ ഭൂമിക്ക് അടിസ്ഥാനശില പാകി, വിവേകത്താൽ അവിടന്ന് ആകാശത്തെ തൽസ്ഥാനത്ത് ഉറപ്പിച്ചു;
20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
അവിടത്തെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താൽ ആഴങ്ങൾ പൊട്ടിപ്പിളർന്നു, ആകാശം തുഷാരബിന്ദുക്കൾ പൊഴിക്കുന്നു.
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേചനശക്തിയും നിലനിർത്തുക, അവ നിന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിപഥത്തിൽനിന്നു മറയാതിരിക്കട്ടെ;
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and favour to thy neck.
കാരണം അവ നിനക്കു ജീവനും, നിന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ ഒരു അലങ്കാരമാലയും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
അപ്പോൾ നീ നിന്റെ വഴികളിൽ സുരക്ഷിതനായി മുന്നേറും, നിന്റെ കാലടികൾ ഇടറുകയുമില്ല.
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
കിടക്കയിലേക്കുപോകുമ്പോൾ നിനക്കു ഭയമുണ്ടാകുകയില്ല; നീ കിടക്കുകയും ഉടനെതന്നെ സുഖനിദ്രയിലമരുകയും ചെയ്യും
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
പെട്ടെന്നു സംഭവിക്കുന്ന ദുരന്തമോ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ നാശമോ കണ്ട് നീ സംഭീതനാകരുത്,
26 For YHWH shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
കാരണം യഹോവയാണ് നിന്റെ സുരക്ഷിതത്വം അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെ പാദം കെണിയിലകപ്പെടാതെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളും.
27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
നന്മചെയ്യാൻ നിനക്ക് അധികാരമുള്ളപ്പോൾ, അർഹതപ്പെട്ടവർക്ക് അതു ലഭ്യമാക്കാൻ വിമുഖതകാട്ടരുത്.
28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
നിനക്ക് ഇപ്പോൾ സഹായിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ, “പിന്നെവരിക, നാളെനോക്കാം,” എന്നു നിന്റെ അയൽവാസിയോട് പറയരുത്.
29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
നിന്റെ സമീപത്ത് നിന്നെ ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു വസിക്കുന്ന, നിന്റെ അയൽവാസിക്കെതിരേ നീ ദുരാലോചന നടത്തരുത്.
30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
നിനക്കു നിരുപദ്രവകാരിയായ മനുഷ്യനെതിരേ, യാതൊരുകാരണവശാലും കലഹിക്കരുത്.
31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
അക്രമിയോട് അസൂയപ്പെടുകയോ അയാളുടെ പാത തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്.
32 For the froward is abomination to YHWH: but his secret is with the righteous.
വക്രതയുള്ളവർ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് അറപ്പാകുന്നു എന്നാൽ പരമാർഥതയുള്ളവരോട് അവിടന്ന് വിശ്വസ്തതപുലർത്തുന്നു.
33 The curse of YHWH is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ഭവനത്തെ യഹോവ ശപിക്കുന്നു, നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ ഭവനത്തെയോ, അവിടന്ന് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth favour unto the lowly.
പരിഹാസികളെ അവിടന്ന് അപഹസിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിനയാന്വിതർക്ക് അവിടന്ന് കൃപചൊരിയുന്നു.
35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
ജ്ഞാനികൾ ബഹുമാനാർഹരായിത്തീരുന്നു, ഭോഷരെ അപമാനത്തിന് ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.
